"Go to the library," Ryan commanded, his voice dropping an octave, heavy and immovable. "Tell Diana to set up a meeting with James for next week. I want to finalize the liquidation of Meridian's physical assets."
Sophie's eyes darkened with a predatory thrill. "You're going to strip his office down to the copper wiring."
"I'm going to leave him with absolutely nothing," Ryan confirmed. "Go. Tell her."
Sophie didn't hesitate. She turned and walked swiftly toward the heavy iron-and-glass doors of the library.
Ryan watched her go, the dark anticipation coiling in his chest. He turned his gaze back to the sprawling city below.
A moment later, Sophie pushed the library doors open. She didn't look triumphant. She looked tense.
"Ryan," Sophie called out, her voice tight. "You need to see this."
Ryan crossed the living room in long, purposeful strides. He stepped into the library.
