I woke to the warmth of a fresh breeze drifting through the house. Outside, birds chirped a lively symphony. I sat up, listening intently, and then I heard her—my Mother, calling for me. I practically flew through the door, embracing her as if an eternity had passed since our last meeting.
My Mother, a truly kind and loving woman, always cared for her children with such tender devotion. But she was gone now, lost to a dungeon's dark embrace, never to return. I wept, helpless, clinging to her memory as she, in turn, worried over me.
"Dear, are you sick?" she asked, her warm hand gently placed on my forehead.
"No, Mom," I managed to reply, tears streaming down my face, "I just... I kinda missed you."
The chill of the morning air was a stark contrast to the burning confusion in my mind. I was alive. I shouldn't be. The last thing I remembered was... nothing, and then the oppressive weight of eternal darkness. Yet, here I was, breathing, feeling, existing. A part of me whispered of an underworld, of death, and an inexplicable return. It felt less like a resurrection and more like a carefully orchestrated event, a puppet show where I was the bewildered marionette. But the 'why' and the 'how' had to wait. Such existential quandaries were a luxury I couldn't afford right now. Reality, however warped it felt, demanded my immediate attention.
Because I knew. I knew the future. I knew the threads of fate that were woven, the dangers that lay ahead, specifically for me, but more pressingly, for her. My mother.
"Mom, please, stay inside," I pleaded, my voice soft, almost a murmur, but my eyes, I knew, betrayed the terror coiling in my gut. The world outside was not the innocent place she believed it to be, and she, in her gentle way, was utterly oblivious to the storm brewing on the horizon.
She paused, turning from the window where she'd been admiring the nascent blossoms. Her smile was a balm, warm and full of an uncomplicated love that, in this new, unsettling existence, felt like a precious, fragile thing I had to guard with every fiber of my being. "Okay, dear, I'll do as you ask. And oh," she added, her gaze softening further, "you need to eat breakfast."
Her words, so mundane, so loving, grounded me, pulling me back from the precipice of panic. Breakfast. A simple, ordinary act. A moment of peace before the inevitable. I had to protect that peace, protect her, at all costs. The future could wait; my mother could not.
As time passes I got into awakened training were we could see all our ranks That's when
My card revealed my name I was Park yeonghon (yeonghon means soul and park means bright = Bright soul)my name means bright soul but I'm not that bright I'm very gloomy outside no friends no acquaintance
Just me.
I recalled what had happened, the chaotic scene of people swarming like hell itself. Amidst the pandemonium, my gaze locked onto an S-rank hunter. His white hair, stark against the madness, framed eyes that were an unnatural, piercing blue, like the deepest ocean. This was Riven, the top hunter of the world, and the Guildmaster of the Obsidian Guild. In my past life, Riven had been a National rank hunter. He was never one for pleasantries, always glaring at others, a perpetual scowl etched onto his face—a man with a notoriously bad temper.
"Damn… he really is the hope of Korea," I murmured, a bitter taste in my mouth.
I left the building, passing through the heavy doors. As I did, Riven's eyes flickered toward me, a brief, cold assessment that I barely registered at the time. It was only later, after I'd returned home and had a chance to read the news, that the full weight of his presence, and the knowledge of my own precarious future, truly settle in.
I scrolled through every past event article I could find about Riven Schwarz. He was famously known as the first teenage S-rank Awakener, and equally notorious for being born with a "diamond spoon" – a German, obscenely rich due to his father's wealth, but having moved to Korea because of his Korean mother. In my past life, Riven and I barely spoke. As I scrolled further, my jaw nearly dropped. I saw him with a girl.
"Does he already have a woman? Then why didn't I ever see her in my past life?"
Suddenly, the ground beneath me shook violently. I realized it instantly. "Mom, please!" I cried, grabbing her wrist gently but firmly. At the same moment, a system window popped up before my eyes:A gate monster has appeared! The boss monster was designated as "Abyss." "Stay close!" I urged, pulling my mother, leading her towards what I hoped would be a safe place.
"Mom, stay here!"
"Dear, be careful!" she called after me, her voice laced with worry as I left her.
