~Grace~
I'd never be able to explain the emotions I feel. It must have been tough for Sucre caring for his dickhead brothers. They were nowhere in that story Leonard just told, but they are all feeling entitled to his emotions and care. Dwelling on Sucre abandoning them whereas the world abandoned him first.
If they weren't part of the struggle, their demand to be part of the "care" feels hollow and selfish.
"But, good news, you'll be having dinner tonight with the Kings and officials." The sudden switch of topics and the way his emotions were building up is enough for me to know he doesn't wish to continue the story. "High Alpha Bruno specifically..."
"Is Sucre back?" I sign.
"What? I don't understand..."
I grab his phone and tap out the words.
"Oh, High Alpha Sucre? He's not back yet," he says, reading the screen. "I only saw High Alpha Bruno a few minutes ago."
I swallow. After forty-eight restless hours, I'm suddenly going to meet the king who has plagued my nightmares.
