Chapter 29 - Chapter 3: Fiercely Protective Kate

Watching the small, brown-haired figure standing at the entrance of Gringotts from afar, Kate walked over quickly. "Where are Mr. Granger and the others?"

Hermione turned her head. "They said they wanted to sit in a bar for a bit, and that as long as I have you to lead me, it would be fine."

Truly a pair of big-hearted parents.

Kate felt helpless. She immediately took Hermione's hand and said, "Then you must hold on to me tightly. Don't get lost."

"Mhm, I definitely won't let go," Hermione muttered in a low voice.

Perhaps because there were too many people on the street, Kate's ears twitched, and she looked at her in confusion. "What did you say just now?"

"Nothing!" The little lion hurriedly covered her mouth.

This guilty look bore no resemblance to the way she would later violate school rules without so much as a blush or a skipped beat during the Golden Trio era.

Young people still needed experience.

Kate raised an eyebrow slightly, pretending she hadn't heard anything, and pulled her straight toward Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, which was not far away.

"First, we buy robes, then we go to the wand shop, and after that, the bookstore to buy books—"

While she was still planning the itinerary, Hermione was already staring curiously at the wizarding robes displayed in the shop window.

"Sister Kate, do you wear this kind of uniform at Hogwarts too?" Curious Baby Hermione began her daily questioning.

Oh, she had almost forgotten to tell the little girl about that.

Kate drafted a response in her mind while leading the person into the shop, speaking as she entered, "Excuse me, please prepare a set of wizard robes as required by the Hogwarts new student admission list for both of us."

The short and stout Madam Malkin had just sent away a young wizard. She looked at them with a beaming smile. "You two are also new students, right? Who will be measured first?"

Looking back at Hermione and seeing that she was still a bit nervous in front of strangers, Kate pursed her lips and turned back. "I'll go first."

With the aid of magic, the measuring and tailoring phase didn't take more than a few minutes.

When it was Hermione's turn, Kate had intended to wait right there, but out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed a familiar head of platinum blonde hair.

That pale gold hair of the magical world—one could figure out who it was with their toes.

Truly troublesome, bumping into this family at a time like this.

"Hermione, stay here for a while. I'm going to step out for a bit." She placed the freshly made robes at Hermione's feet and quickly walked out.

At that moment, the owner of that standard pale gold hair was acting spoiled with his parents, saying he wanted to visit the broomstick shop.

"Draco, go get your clothes made first. Mom and Dad will help you buy the other things, and then we'll go to the broomstick shop together, alright?"

Narcissa bent down kindly to adjust her son's collar, whispering in his ear.

Meanwhile, the patriarch of the Malfoy family, Lucius Malfoy, stood coldly leaning on his cane amidst the bustling crowd.

Watching this family, Kate sighed silently. She forced a smile and stepped forward proactively. "If I'm not mistaken, you must be Uncle Lucius."

Lucius's eyelids drooped slightly, and he frowned faintly upon seeing Kate's beautiful silver hair.

"I heard from my butler that you attended my full moon banquet."

Kate was not annoyed by the other party's arrogance; instead, she continued smiling. "My father also had a deep relationship with you back then."

Narcissa straightened up, looking at Kate's silver hair, and asked in surprise, "So, that one from the Shafiq family..."

"Just call me Kate." She nodded slowly.

Upon hearing her identity, Lucius finally lowered his arrogant head, and his face at last carried a bit of warmth.

"Kate, I remember you. I even held you during the full moon banquet back then."

He spoke slowly, his gaze shifting to his son. "This is my son, Draco Malfoy. He is a year younger than you, and he is also going to Hogwarts to attend school this year."

"Is that so?" Kate curved her eyes, turning to look at the little young master whose hair was combed meticulously. "Then we will be in the same year."

"Same year?" Draco's eyes widened slightly. "Didn't you go to school last year? Why are we in the same year?"

His tone was too presumptuous. Lucius's face darkened. "Draco, do not be rude."

Draco, who always played the proud and arrogant young master to the outside world, immediately shut his mouth. He held it in for a good while before asking again, "Then are you going to Slytherin too?"

"Who knows?" Kate shrugged. "The Sorting will have its own verdict."

As soon as this was mentioned, Draco started prattling again. "I know I'll be sorted into Slytherin! Because my whole family graduated from there—"

"Draco, you talk too much."

Lucius frowned and turned to give Kate a slight nod. "We are going to purchase books."

"Please." Kate postured politely, stepping aside to open a path for the Malfoy family to pass.

She looked back at the situation inside the robe shop. Fortunately, Hermione was still paying.

If Malfoy were to meet Hermione, who knew if a conflict would arise?

Her parents had entrusted their precious daughter to her care. If this guy suddenly came along and provoked Hermione to tears, Kate wouldn't be able to explain it to them.

Rather than letting Little Malfoy disgust Hermione, it was better for her to disgust the Malfoy family first.

It was common knowledge that the Shafiq family had all died in the war against Voldemort, while the Malfoy family... Heh, old Death Eaters.

Although the two families maintained a friendly relationship on the surface, Kate knew that Lucius would absolutely not let his son get too close to her.

Under these circumstances, Lucius would definitely choose to detour and buy things elsewhere to avoid her.

Just then, Hermione finished buying her wizard robes and walked out with difficulty, hugging the clothes. "Sister Kate, who were you talking to just now?"

"Oh, someone asking for directions."

Kate replied with a calm expression. She grabbed a handbag from her pocket and packed all of Hermione's wizard robes into it.

"Hold this, it won't be so strenuous."

Saying this, she ignored Hermione's amazed expression and grabbed her hand, walking toward Ollivander's Wand Shop at the end of Diagon Alley.

"This is the wand shop. Go in by yourself; Ollivander will select a suitable wand for you."

Just like the old butler last year, Kate sat on the bench outside the shop, patiently waiting for Hermione and her new wand to emerge.

They still had to buy quite a few things next. This whole day would probably be spent in Diagon Alley.

Could she only return to Shafiq Manor tomorrow...?

While Kate was still frowning in thought, a familiar, surprised voice came from above her head: "It's you! Long time no see!"

Meanwhile, inside the wand shop, Hermione seemed to sense something and turned her head. The tip of the wand in her hand immediately exploded with a firework.
