Cherreads

Chapter 29 - ch 28,"369 Atoms"

Alpha Core threw the red-colored sand onto Pasito's face.

The sand sparkled in the air. It almost felt unnatural, as if every grain had separated from one another. Each particle was glowing strangely.

A moment later, the sand entered Pasito's eyes, mouth, and ears. Seeing this, everyone became shocked.

Alpha looked down at his watch. It felt as if he was counting something silently.

Vashuki thought to himself, "What is happening? I hope nothing happens to him…"

Suddenly, a red-colored liquid began coming out from Pasito's mouth.

But instead of screaming, Pasito smiled happily.

"What is this? This is unbelievable… I like it!" he shouted.

Pasito started smiling and laughing loudly.

Hearing this, Lina thought to herself, "Why is he laughing so loudly and talking so much?"

"And what is this strange liquid coming out from his mouth?"

Suddenly, purple-colored smoke began rising from Pasito's hands.

At the same time, three shadows appeared behind him. They looked almost human.

Seeing them, Alpha said with surprise, "Looks like this monkey has killed three people."

Mara thought to himself, "His monkey spirit is really dangerous…"

A few moments later, Pasito suddenly collapsed onto the ground.

Alpha walked toward him and helped him stand up.

Pasito slowly opened his eyes and quietly stood up before walking toward Mara.

"Are you alright?" Mara asked.

Pasito looked confused. "Why? What happened?"

Mara replied, "Because our great Mr. Pasito was smiling, laughing, and celebrating like a madman."

Pasito looked shocked. "Are you serious?"

"Yes," Mara answered.

Pasito then noticed that Atirika was writing something down.

Alpha walked toward Atirika and quietly said, "15 seconds."

Atirika quickly started writing.

369 × 15 = 5,535

Then she wrote another line below it.

5,535 - 3 = 5,532

Alpha looked toward Pasito.

"Your rating is 5,532."

Hearing this, Pasito became shocked.

Alpha then said in a slightly disappointed voice, "This is decent… but you will need a rating above 10,000."

The moment Pasito heard that, his face suddenly dropped.

After a few seconds, Mara looked at Alpha and asked, "Sir… how do you know what someone's rating is?"

Along with Vashuki, all the students slowly gathered around Mara.

Alpha then spoke in a loud voice, "Yes, there are two ways to determine someone's rating… but both happen under different conditions."

The attention of every student immediately turned toward Alpha.

Meanwhile, Atirika quietly wrote Lina's name inside her book.

Alpha continued speaking, "If you are checking someone's rating for the first time… like Pasito's rating was checked just now… then first, you must keep a watch with you."

"The person holding the watch must carefully observe the time."

"And this red-colored soil…" Alpha said while holding the strange sand, "must be thrown onto that person's face."

"After that, you must calculate the amount of time it takes for energy to come out from that person."

"Then, you multiply that time by 369."

"And finally… you subtract a certain number from the answer."

Hearing this explanation, strange expressions appeared on everyone's faces, as if none of them understood anything at all.

Atirika then explained calmly, "What this means is… when the soil touched Pasito, Alpha sensei immediately noted the time."

"After Pasito woke up from unconsciousness, Alpha sensei came to me and told me the time."

"So I multiplied 15 by 369."

"Which gave the answer 5,535."

"After that, I noticed the three shadows behind Pasito."

"So I subtracted 3 from 5,535… and the final answer became 5,532."

Mara looked confused. "But why is it necessary to subtract 3 from the answer?"

Atirika quietly replied, "Because the spirit inside Pasito shows the images of the people connected to its past killings when it was alive."

"And every spirit carries a value of 369."

"That is why the number must be reduced."

Vashuki quietly thought to himself,

"And what if someone wants to know which spirit exists inside me?"

"This question feels very awkward… but…"

"Can I really find the answer to it?"

A moment later, Vashuki suddenly remembered Atirika's words.

"She said that the spirits show the images connected to their deaths…"

His expression slowly became serious.

"Does that mean… these spirits want revenge?"

Mara slowly whispered to Vashuki, "Pasito had a purple thread tied around his wrist… and even his smoke was purple."

"So… could it be possible that the color of the thread and the smoke represents the color of our spirit?"

Hearing this, Vashuki quietly thought to himself,

"His observation skills can compete with mine…"

"But they can't surpass me."

"Because Mara searches for answers… while I create them."

"A powerful collaboration is going to happen between us."

Mara then asked, "Sir, you said there was a second method too."

Alpha nodded. "Yes. It is much simpler."

"First, you need the number of kills you have."

"After that, you multiply it with the required value to get the answer."

"For example… I currently have 114 kills."

Hearing this, Pasito quietly thought to himself,

"Looks like he was a killer in the past…"

Mara suddenly asked, "Does that mean we have to kill someone?"

Alpha calmly replied, "Yes… and no."

"You will kill the spirit that exists inside the body."

Mara looked confused. "And what happens if the spirit is completely destroyed?"

Alpha answered coldly, "If that happens, the body… meaning that person… will lose all of their magical energy."

The moment Vikar heard this, he smiled deeply within his mind.

"Then we can just steal another spirit again… right?"

Alpha suddenly spoke in a serious voice, "And don't even think about hunting spirits again after going to Red Moon."

He then looked toward Mara and continued, "As I was saying… I have killed 114 spirits so far."

"Every spirit carries a value of 369. In other words, each spirit contains 369 atoms."

"So…"

114 × 369 = 42,066

"That is my rating."

Alpha then looked at everyone carefully.

"And remember this… until you make your first kill, your rating will remain the same."

Suddenly, Atirika shouted loudly, "Lina, now it's your turn!"

Meanwhile, Torisa was at the hospital.

He was standing outside a room, lost in thought.

A few moments later, he looked ahead and noticed Jeron Sensei standing before him.

Jeron quietly said, "That boy who was with Aloka… he's still alive."

Torisa looked surprised. "You mean the one who could fly through the air?"

"Yes," Jeron replied calmly.

Torisa let out a small breath. "Good thing I survived that accident."

A moment later, his eyes suddenly moved toward the distance.

Someone was slowly walking toward them.

It was Ajina.

And she was still wearing the same clothes as before.
