Chapter 30: The Submission of Zabuza and Haku, Byakuya Speedruns the Land of Waves!

Then, a 'whoosh' was heard!

A Ninja wearing the Hidden Mist Village Anbu attire appeared before everyone at the spot Byakuya had been looking at.

"You're a Hidden Mist Village Anbu, right?"

Byakuya's words almost made Haku freeze in shock.

How did he know what he was about to say?

"Is your goal to capture the Rogue Ninja Zabuza Momochi?"

"Yes!"

Haku nodded subconsciously. Did the opponent know this too?

"Then, do you also plan to take Zabuza's body back to complete your mission?"

Byakuya's trio of deadly questions had completely stolen Haku's lines.

"So it's an Anbu from the Hidden Mist Village!"

Kakashi also breathed a long sigh of relief.

He had thought it was an accomplice of Zabuza's; if it was for a Rogue Ninja from the Hidden Mist, then it was normal.

After all, Zabuza's status as a Rogue Ninja was right there.

"Thank you for your help, Konoha Ninja sir!"

At this moment, Haku was unaware that Byakuya had recognized their identities long ago.

"Kakashi-sensei, tell me, when turning in an Anbu mission, does bringing back just the head count as completing the mission?"

Byakuya asked out of the blue.

Although Kakashi was a bit confused, he answered honestly.

"As long as the identity of the corpse can be proven, anything works!"

Having served in the Anbu for so many years, Kakashi was naturally familiar with their regulations.

"I see!"

Byakuya looked as if he had just realized something.

"In that case, this Hidden Mist Anbu gentleman shouldn't mind taking back just a brain, right?"

Under Byakuya's repeated prodding, even a fool could see that something was wrong.

Kakashi pulled out a Kunai and watched the Hidden Mist Anbu before him with great caution.

"Kakashi-sensei, this is..."

Sasuke and Naruto on the side couldn't react in time.

First ready to fight, then putting down weapons...

Was the opponent an enemy or a friend!

"Lord Ninja, what do you mean? I don't understand."

Haku pretended to be completely ignorant as he slowly approached Byakuya.

"Water Release Secret Technique: Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death!"

After getting close to Byakuya, Haku suddenly attacked!

Haku turned the surrounding water vapor into a massive amount of Senbon, performing a high-speed, wide-range 360-degree bombardment.

"Instant Shadow Killing Array!"

Byakuya used the untargetability of the Instant Shadow Killing Array to dodge the attack.

"Ice Release Secret Technique: Demonic Mirror Ice Crystals!"

Seeing his first strike fail, Haku instantly used his Ice Release.

Several ice mirrors condensed around Byakuya!

"Byakuya, be careful!"

Sakura shouted urgently upon seeing this.

It turned out that Haku could move between the ice mirrors at the speed of light, launching Senbon attacks at every opportunity.

However, he completely underestimated the perception abilities of Byakuya, who possessed max-level Wood Release.

Byakuya turned and slashed directly at Haku with his blade.

Haku didn't expect the opponent's reaction to be so fast; he could only pull out a Senbon to resist.

But how could such a weapon be a match for the Executioner's Blade?

The Senbon was sliced clean in half down the middle.

Haku was also sent flying back by the impact.

"Interesting!"

It must be said, Byakuya was starting to appreciate Ice Release.

Although it wasn't of much help to him personally, it was still a tier stronger compared to other Kekkei Genkais.

Byakuya wondered if Orochimaru hadn't taken Haku away back when he was in the Hidden Mist Village.

Was Ice Release not appealing enough?

But then Byakuya thought about it and realized it was normal; Orochimaru had obtained Kimimaro from the Hidden Mist Village after all.

"I can give you and Zabuza a chance..."

Byakuya was just about to say something when he almost slipped up.

He forgot Kakashi was still here; if his attempt to recruit subordinates was reported to the old man Third Hokage...

There's no telling what that old man might cook up!

Byakuya decided to discuss it privately. After all, he quite appreciated Zabuza and Haku as subordinates.

Not to mention Zabuza.

In the entire Naruto series, only three people had ever driven Team 7 into a corner.

One was Six Paths Uchiha Madara, and another was Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.

Zabuza was the third person.

After all, he had once traded blows with the Seventh Hokage and stepped on the last leader of the Uchiha Clan.

He could even capture the Sixth Hokage with one hand.

As for Haku, the fact that his Ice Release allowed him to last a few moves against Byakuya already proved the potential of Ice Release.

Although Byakuya felt his strength didn't require any helpers...

Some dark matters still needed people to handle them, and staying in Konoha Village every day, he didn't have the time to do them himself.

Using an External Incarnation felt like a bit of overkill.

"This!"

Haku alone simply couldn't believe the opponent's words.

After all, he was someone who lacked a mind of his own.

Cough, cough!

On the other side, Zabuza finally woke up.

There was no choice; with such a large commotion around him, he quickly emerged from his state of feigned death.

"Haku!"

Zabuza saw Haku, whom he had always regarded as a tool, actually giving his all to protect him.

For a moment, Zabuza began to doubt himself.

"Kakashi-sensei, I'll take these two elsewhere to deal with them. That should be fine, right?"

Byakuya glanced at Kakashi.

Kakashi naturally had no reason to refuse; in his view, Byakuya had absolutely no reason to let the opponent go.

After all, Byakuya himself was a genius whom the Third Hokage held in high regard.

The leader of Konoha's entire younger generation.

Was it possible Byakuya would give up his title as Konoha's Number One Genius to become a Rogue Ninja with Zabuza?

It was simply unrealistic.

So, with a leap, Byakuya carried Zabuza and Haku in his hands to the valley where Gato's treasure was hidden.

"I'll give you one chance: submit, or die!"

Byakuya threw the Executioner's Blade onto the ground and spoke decisively.

If either of these two dared to say 'no' today, Byakuya would finish them off without hesitation.

"Sir, are you sure that as long as we submit to you, you will let us go?"

Zabuza plucked up the courage to ask.

He still had too many things unfinished; he didn't want himself and Haku to die here.

"Do you think you are in a position to negotiate with me?"

Byakuya didn't even spare Zabuza a glance.

Whether they lived or not depended entirely on him.
