Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Realm That Hunts

The transition happened without warning.

One step forward inside the Sovereign Genesis Realm—and the world tilted.

There was no flash of light, no dramatic pull. Space simply folded, and the familiar training field vanished. In its place stood a landscape that felt… older. The ground was dark stone veined with faint crimson lines, pulsing slowly like a living heartbeat. The air was heavy, not with pressure alone, but with intent.

This realm was watching them.

The system interface appeared immediately, sharper than usual.

[High-Tier Secret Realm: Authorized Entry]Classification: Apex Resource ZoneRisk Level: Moderate (Adjusted — Exclusive Privilege Applied)]

Lia read the panel twice."Moderate?" she asked quietly. "This doesn't feel moderate."

"That's because this realm doesn't rely on raw danger," Eren replied. "It relies on judgment."

Charizard stepped forward, claws scraping lightly against the stone. Its wings flexed once, not in aggression, but readiness. Heat radiated subtly from its body, pushing back against the oppressive atmosphere.

Doublade drifted to Charizard's flank, blades rotating slowly. The spectral link between them pulsed—steady, synchronized.

The realm reacted.

Not with enemies.

With distance.

The horizon stretched unnaturally far, terrain rearranging itself every few seconds. Paths appeared, vanished, reappeared somewhere else. Resource nodes flickered in and out of existence, some radiating power, others clearly bait.

Lia frowned. "It's testing decision-making."

"And restraint," Eren added. "This place punishes greed."

They moved carefully.

Every step forward triggered subtle changes. When Charizard's heat output rose even slightly, the ground beneath hardened, reflecting energy back inward. When Doublade's pressure expanded too far, the air thickened, slowing movement.

Feedback.

Immediate and precise.

After several minutes, the first entity emerged.

Not a construct.

A Pokémon-shaped shadow peeled itself from the stone, form unstable but dangerous. Its movements were jerky, unpredictable, mimicking multiple fighting styles at once.

The system issued a warning.

[Realm Predator Detected]Threat Level: Entry Elite]

Charizard didn't wait for orders.

It stepped forward and stopped.

No attack.

Just presence.

Heat compressed inward, pressure rising—not explosively, but deliberately. The shadow hesitated, movements stuttering as the temperature gradient destabilized its form.

That was Doublade's cue.

The twin blades rotated once, then sliced cleanly through the space the predator occupied—not the body, but the anchor holding it together.

The shadow collapsed soundlessly.

No loot dropped.

No reward appeared.

Lia blinked. "Nothing?"

Eren nodded. "This realm doesn't reward kills. It rewards progress."

As if acknowledging that statement, the ground ahead shifted. A path stabilized, leading toward a cluster of glowing formations—dense, crystalline structures radiating high-grade energy.

The system updated.

[Resource Node Identified]Type: Potential-Enhancing Secret Treasure]Rarity: Extremely High]

Lia's breath caught. "These shouldn't exist in this quantity."

"They don't," Eren said calmly. "Anywhere else."

They approached.

The moment Charizard touched the first crystal, it dissolved into light, flowing directly into its core. No resistance. No side effects. Heat surged briefly, then compressed again, tighter than before.

Charizard — Level Increase: Lv. 48 → Lv. 50

The change was undeniable.

Charizard straightened, posture shifting subtly as its center of gravity adjusted. Its wings felt heavier—not burdensome, but anchored. Power settled into bone and muscle, no longer sitting at the surface.

Doublade absorbed the second crystal.

Spectral energy thickened sharply, edges refining to near-perfect clarity.

Doublade — Level Increase: Lv. 49 → Lv. 51

Lia stared at the updated panels, heartbeat loud in her ears."Two levels each… from passive absorption."

"And we're not done," Eren replied.

The realm trembled faintly—not in warning, but in response.

More predators would come.

Smarter ones.

Stronger ones.

But this time, the twins didn't feel watched like intruders.

They felt… recognized.

Charizard exhaled slowly, a thin ribbon of white heat cutting through the air before vanishing.

Doublade rotated into a forward stance, blades angled outward.

The hunt had begun.

Not because the realm demanded it—

—but because now, it finally considered them worth testing.
