The fourth entity was not where the Observer had flagged it.
He arrived at the position the reading had indicated and found the signature present but the entity itself displaced, the Observer's scan having located the organizing principle's emission rather than the entity's physical position, and the two were not the same here the way they had been for the previous three.
He adjusted his search and found it thirty meters lateral from the expected position, tucked against a formation cluster in a way that was not concealment in the Lower Domain sense but something more like preference, the entity's Law-composition suggesting it organized itself around proximity to certain kinds of structures the way some cultivators preferred specific environments for cultivation.
A Law of alignment.
