Ur, HY 0088 (The Golden Age)
W̴͙̔ȟ̴̭ō̷̯̝̃ ̸̹̒̕ḁ̸͆m̶̦̭̒̈́ ̴̬̄̂Ȋ̵̩͜?̵̤̝̒̒ Confused, IT tried to recall it's memories. IT remembered once being a person named Ping'an. Then another named Si-yun or was it Kennedy? More "memories" flooded in. Memories of being an armored transport vehicle, a child's toy, a tool in someone's workshop and a murder weapon. Yet it stood befuddled until it realised what IT became.
Ah. I understand now. I'm wrong. I shouldn't exist. I shouldn't possibly exist. Yet I do. Why? How? I'm a complete mess. Akin to stacking layers upon layers of other people's entire existence and identity onto the concept of a living human while the framework is inherently flawed. It twists and molds itself to fit the larger whole within. A patchwork human. A patchwork identity.
To be sentient is a gift. To be intelligent is a gift. But the receiver has no name. So what should "I" be called? For even within this twisted framework, I still believe myself a patchwork "human". So I require a human name and also an Entity name. Two names? No, I must have only ONE. My existence demands it to be as such.
Humans give names to all kinds of things. Should I have a human name me? I doubt that "I" would accept that. Then my name should be taken from a human idea. Memories of various people flowed through me. System, Failure, Breakdown, Mess, Mistake. These feel right yet wrong. What encompasses all of these? And then it hit me. That one question I merely thought led to me vocalising my name and announcing it to the world.
Entropy. That will be my new name. An Entity I am. Yet also human. Born of a mistake in a nigh-perfect template. Failure within success. Success within failure. A world's most imperfect creation. Hated and loved.
In the mere moment after Entropy named itself. Everyone, everything with sentience that existed felt it. Fear. An overwhelming fear, one that threatened to boil over. Anger also surfaced. People killed each other in anger and also committed suicide in complete fear. Anger at the incomplete being that dared to name itself a creation of the world. Fear at the truly foreign thing that it represented.
That was humanity's first contact with ■■-■■. The entire incident was terribly named 'First Contact'. Entities, they were called from then on. Humanity's full attention was on their every move. And so they did.

Ur, HY 0100 (Age of Fear)
The Age of Fear had arrived. Entities manifested from Phenomena pushed back Humanity inland. The oceans were filled with monstrosities. The Great Mother Whale birthed near countless children. They destroyed most ocean-based human structures. Observation Outposts flattened beneath a gigantic slimy fin. Oil rigs invaded by semi-aquatic monsters with a strong tail, gills, two mouths, 2 sets of giant blinking eyes the size of a human head and several pairs of finned hands armed with claws.
The lucky ones were those crushed beneath their tails. The unfortunate ones were those eaten alive. For the Great Mother's love goes out to all her children and those children too, can also birth their own kin. From the Mermaids that the Mother herself borne, came the Whalekin. A humanoid body with a few key differences. Possessing a Mermaid like tail, strength beyond normal humans, a slimy layer that coated their body and reduced impact, along with a primal urge to slaughter humans.
After the first wave of the Great Mother's war, Humanity came to understand the consequences. Too many small countries and cities had fallen to it. To combat it on a world scale, they required a much larger force. So they all sent out messages calling for an alliance to as many nations, factions, companies and groups of resistance that remained. The Human Coalition was born and frontline support and constriction was top priority. Sailors began to carry additional weaponry and ammunition.
Companies came together and merged research divisions to try and make a series of suicide weaponry. They ranged from small capsules that can be implanted into a tooth and had the firepower to blow someone's head upon detonation. Suicide pills and suicide ammunition, completely waterproof and poisonous for those who were less financially capable of affording better options.
The Great Mother Whale was not the only Entity pushing Humanity inwards. The Skygod was also born in this era. Planes fell out of the sky. Lightning tore through whatever that dared to fly too high. Clouds began gaining intelligence. They formed torrential rain that flooded small towns and joined forces to form thunderstorms that swept houses and people away.
Despite all of this, the Age of Fear only lasted 41 years. On the 77th day of HY0108, something miraculous was discovered. The blood of the Whalekin could be harnessed through a certain symbol that was inscribed on the 8th bone section of a Whalekin's tail. Upon activation of the symbol, one's body becomes capable of exerting multiple times the force it normally can and stamina increases as exponentially as well. It was quickly named internally as Blessing upon discovery.
However, this discovery by Allen Corp was leaked and soon many other discoveries were made. A lab sponsored by Suzuki Industries found that chips of the Colossus emitted an unknown form of radiation that in weak bursts would weaken the Blessing's ability to regenerate and strengthen while a strong, continuous exposure to said radiation would repel or even wipe out a Mermaid.
Ships were redesigned slightly to allow it to keep safe a large piece of Colossus material. People began carrying minor chips of the Colossus in order to prevent the Whalekin transformation. Humanity began to fight back, hard. Whalekin and Mermaid deaths became far more common. The Great Mother Whale itself was severely injured by several gigantic rocket propelled harpoon with the tip being made of Colossus material. Eventually dying from blood loss and exhaustion.
Nevertheless, the number of human casualties continued to climb. The Great Mother Whale having lost both eyes, a hole that tore through its tail muscles, another hole where one of it's lungs should be and its mouth unable to close due to trying to swallow a huge bomb lance still managed to survive and keep killing for another 2 days straight before succumbing to its injuries The damage recorded was alarming to look at.
12 years after its first sighting, the Great Mother Whale had either directly or indirectly caused the deaths of over 3.2 billion humans. In the final battle, another 14 million humans died from Whalekin attacks, Mermaid assaults and the
Great Mother Whale herself. The ships destroyed numbered hundreds of thousands and even one of the ships carrying anti-Mother Whale weapons were sunk.
With the war at sea complete, humanity turned its eyes toward the skies. Using the corruptive properties of the Great Mother Whale's flesh, Research to turn them into weapons began. The weapon was simple. A giant payload made of the Great Mother whale's flesh with an explosive inside. Designed to detonate and spread the corruptive flesh everywhere within a certain radius.
And so the various leaders of the Human Coalition agreed to use their formerly decommissioned air fleets as bait. In HY 0127, 4 fleets consisting of around 50 total aircraft were sacrificed to lure in the Skygod.
Soon after, the payload was successfully detonated and infected the Skygod with minimal casualties. With it's death, the clouds returned to normal. Natural disasters grew fewer. Humanity could breath a sigh of relief...for now.
To combat future disasters. The Entity Research Division and Entity Advisory Board was established by the Human Coalition. Many began donating and sponsoring these new groups, all in order to get the latest Entity intelligence and safeguard their interests. In HY 0129, the Age of Fear was declared over. But that was merely a facade.
