"Nothing to worry about, Yajirobe — get out of here." Goku called over his shoulder.
"Who — who just tried to attack me?" Yajirobe's face went white.
"Probably the Androids." Goku answered, voice calm.
"What?! The Androids attacked me?! You have to be kidding!" Yajirobe's mouth twitched. He felt completely wronged by the universe.
I'm the weakest one here. Why on earth would you attack me?
Yajirobe floored the throttle and flew away from the scene as fast as the aircraft would carry him.
Goku looked down toward the town below, turning it over in his mind — trying to remember where 19 and 20 were supposed to appear.
Whoosh!
Goku dropped toward the town at full speed.
"Look! Just now — someone attacked Yajirobe! And Goku blocked it!" Piccolo called out sharply.
"The Androids have appeared?" Krillin went wide-eyed.
"Where are they? Is it really true that because they're Androids they have no ki to sense?" Tien said with a low, tense voice.
"Since we can't track them by ki, we follow Goku and use our eyes!" Piccolo made the call for the group at once. "The moment anyone spots something — release your ki immediately and alert everyone!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The group moved as one and dropped toward the town below at speed.
Goku landed on a rooftop and swept his gaze across the area.
The problem was — so much time had passed since his previous life. He genuinely could not remember exactly where those two Androids would show up.
When he spotted Yamcha flying in the same direction —
Goku had a sudden thought and quietly fell in behind him.
I remember it was Yamcha who first spotted Androids 19 and 20.
And then Yamcha almost got killed — by 20, I think.
Following Yamcha should lead me right to them.
In the town. A wide, open street.
Androids 19 and 20 looked around.
A short distance away, an old man was taking a walk with his son.
The explosion in the sky moments ago had caught the old man's eye immediately.
"Hey, did you two see that? Something exploded up there." The old man called out to 19 and 20 in a friendly way.
Android 19 glanced at him sideways, and walked toward him in slow, measured steps.
"Did you see it?" the old man asked again.
19 said nothing. He kept walking, the distance between them shrinking.
Something cold crept into the old man's gut. He held up a hand. "What are you — what are you doing?"
Bang!
19 headbutted the old man square in the face.
The old man was dead before he hit the ground.
His son cried out in outrage.
19 smiled — and drove his fist forward, punching the son straight through the wall behind him.
19 licked the blood from his knuckles, his smile growing colder.
Beep — beep — beep!
A car came rolling down the road from a distance, horn blaring at Android 20, who was standing in the middle of the lane.
20 stood completely still, his expression unchanged.
"HEY! Move it! What are you, an idiot?! Standing in the middle of the road in broad daylight — do you want to die?!" The driver leaned out of the window and screamed.
20 raised his hand, spread his fingers, and drove them straight into the body of the car.
The driver went pale in an instant.
Slam!
20 pulled his hand free, grabbed the driver by the throat, and yanked him upward.
The driver's head smashed through the car's roof and came out the other side.
20 tightened his grip. He twisted — and snapped the driver's neck completely.
"Hmph." 20 gave a flat snort and wiped the blood from his hand.
"AHHH!"
A young woman passing by saw the whole thing and let out a string of horrified screams, dropping everything she was carrying.
At the sound of the screaming, Yamcha was the first one to come flying in from the other direction.
"A high-energy reading approaching." 20 turned to 19. "Is the scanner malfunctioning?"
"No malfunction. I'm picking up the same reading, 20." 19 answered.
"The energy level far exceeds a normal human." 20 smiled.
"We found him without even looking." 19 grinned. "It's Goku."
The two of them drifted up into the air, looking down.
Yamcha was already streaking in from a distance. He ducked behind a wall and peered out at the scene — and what he saw filled him with horror and fury.
But Yamcha did not spot where the two Androids had gone. He looked around in every direction.
"Hey — who killed these two? Did you see?" Yamcha called up to a couple watching from an office building window.
"They were two strangely-looking creatures..." the man answered quickly.
"They were just here and then they just vanished." The woman was trembling so hard she could barely speak.
"They disappeared? Where would they have gone?" Yamcha looked around carefully, voice low. "Should I call everyone over? But if I don't know exactly where the Androids are, having them come here won't help much."
Above, Androids 19 and 20 floated, watching Yamcha from the sky.
"He isn't Goku — the data doesn't match." 19 shook his head. "96% probability it's Yamcha."
"Either way, his energy reading is strong. Plenty to absorb." 20's mouth curved up.
The two of them drifted silently down behind Yamcha, closing the distance step by step.
Yamcha suddenly felt something was wrong. He spun around.
"You two — did you see who did this?" Yamcha asked quickly.
A smile appeared on 19's face.
One look at 19's bizarre, pallid face sent a chill racing through Yamcha from head to foot.
"Don't tell me..." Yamcha's stomach dropped.
"It was us." 20 said, with a dismissive smile.
"What?!" Yamcha's pulse spiked. He immediately threw himself backward, putting distance between himself and the two Androids.
Then, without a moment's hesitation, Yamcha opened his mouth to shout — to call the others in.
Snap!
20 lunged — a hand shooting straight for Yamcha's mouth.
Yamcha's face drained of colour.
Whoosh!
At the critical moment, Goku used Instant Transmission and materialised directly in front of Yamcha, raising one hand and catching 20's wrist in a firm grip.
20's expression locked up. He stared at Goku, thrown completely off balance.
"Goku?!" Yamcha's relief and joy came all at once. "I'm genuinely moved right now."
Your timing was perfect, Goku. A second later and I would have been done.
"So you finally showed yourselves." Goku smiled.
"Goku!" 20 was genuinely caught off guard — he could not figure out how Goku had appeared here.
"Everyone — get over here!" Yamcha didn't think twice — he unleashed his ki and shouted at the top of his lungs.
Sensing Yamcha's ki flare, Gohan, Piccolo, and the others came streaking in from all directions and landed on the scene.
The moment Gohan saw the two Androids standing there, he went completely still for a second, brow furrowed.
"Gohan — are these the ones?" Piccolo asked quietly.
"No..." Gohan gave a strained scratch of his head. "I've never seen them before."
Piccolo: "..."
"History has changed in a significant way." Piccolo said flatly.
"Let go of me!" 20 could feel Goku's grip on his wrist beginning to bite, and wrenched hard to pull free.
Goku let go without resistance.
"So you're the Androids?" Piccolo said coldly. "You've finally shown your faces."
19 and 20 exchanged a baffled look.
"Strange... how did you know we were Androids — and how did you know we'd appear here?" 20 asked with a frown.
"This is no place for a conversation. Let's take this somewhere without people." Goku said — he could already hear sirens approaching in the distance.
If we stay here much longer we might end up getting arrested.
"Finding a place without people is fine. But there's no need to leave." 20 answered with a cold smile.
"Somehow I knew you'd say that." Goku's expression tightened slightly.
20 blinked, then dismissed Goku and shifted his focus. Energy began to gather in his eyes.
Crack!
Goku moved first — a full-force kick aimed directly at 20.
20 was sent flying upward by the kick, tumbling through the air at speed.
"You're coming too — even if I don't know much about you!" Gohan made a decisive call, and drove a kick into 19 as well.
19 launched skyward, spinning alongside 20.
"Gohan." Goku turned and smiled.
Gohan met his father's eyes and nodded.
"Let's move!" Goku shot into the air.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Everyone flew up after him.
"Ha!"
Goku swept both arms outward and fired two bursts of energy — something like a double Kamehameha — each one hitting Android 19 and Android 20 simultaneously.
The two of them had barely managed to right themselves before the blasts hit and sent them tumbling all over again.
19: "..."
20: "..."
Both Androids were stunned to their cores.
How has Goku gotten this strong?
Something is wrong here.
Before long, Goku had herded the two Androids down into an uninhabited area.
Thud. Thud.
19 and 20 fell from the air and hit the ground hard — neither of them landing gracefully.
19 hit badly enough to spring a leak.
"Look at that — the Android is bleeding!" Yamcha called out.
"It's not blood. That looks like hydraulic fluid." Krillin studied it carefully, mulling it over.
"It really does look like hydraulic fluid." Yamcha nodded thoughtfully.
19: "..."
19 was shaking with fury, levelling a seething glare at Krillin and Yamcha.
You two really know how to go for the soul.
"Alright — nobody around here for a good distance. Let's settle this here." Goku looked at the two Androids with complete composure.
"How confident you are, Goku." 20 gave a cold laugh. "Are you aware — we've been monitoring your every move with miniature spy drones. Everything from the 21st World Tournament to your battles with Piccolo and Vegeta."
"Is that so?" Goku felt a flicker of unease.
In this timeline, I had already transformed into Super Saiyan during my battle with Vegeta.
Does that mean these Androids' power already surpasses that of a Super Saiyan?
If so, even Piccolo at his current level might find them difficult to deal with.
"After you destroyed our Red Ribbon Army, we began this research." 20 continued coldly. "The goal was simple — how to defeat Goku. What kind of Android could eliminate him once and for all."
"I hear you." Goku nodded.
20: "..."
You couldn't even pretend to be fazed?
"Because of you, the Red Ribbon Army's dream of dominating the world was crushed — and only Dr. Gero was left to live out his days alone in the dark." 20 sighed, a long and drawn-out exhalation, his voice dropping lower.
"From the way you're talking, you're actually Dr. Gero himself, aren't you?" Piccolo asked, cutting straight to the point.
20: "..."
How did Piccolo figure that out?
"Don't make assumptions. I am Android 20, created by Dr. Gero. Dr. Gero is no longer of this world — he is dead." 20 showed no intention of admitting it.
"So — when you were spying on me and Vegeta, did you see me transform into a Super Saiyan?" Goku said, ignoring 20's history entirely and asking what actually interested him.
"Super Saiyan? What's that?" 20 paused.
"When I was fighting Vegeta and I transformed — your spy drones didn't catch that?" Goku asked.
20 went silent.
"You and Vegeta were fighting at very high altitude — at least above the cloud layer — and moving too fast. His drones couldn't capture that." Piccolo quickly analysed, turning to Goku. "That's the most likely explanation."
"Ah, that makes sense." Goku nodded, finding no fault in the reasoning.
"You couldn't even detect a Super Saiyan transformation — those spy drones of yours really weren't up to the job." Piccolo said with flat contempt.
"What did you say?" 20 bit down.
"That oversight might be what kills you. You came completely unprepared for a Super Saiyan." Piccolo shook his head, making no attempt to hide his disdain.
Crack!
Golden light blazed from Goku's body. His hair stood on end. Super Saiyan — achieved.
His power rolled outward.
The moment both Androids felt it, their expressions went through dramatic change after dramatic change.
"Piccolo — do you want this one, or should I go?" Goku looked at Piccolo.
Piccolo: "..."
"You take it." Piccolo shook his head. "Besides, their grudge is with you, not me."
"Alright then — don't mind me. Everyone step back a bit!" Goku called to the group.
Piccolo and Gohan and the others immediately created distance.
"An extraordinary energy level — already far beyond what our calculations projected." 20 worked to keep himself steady, but the excitement in him was rising alongside the dread.
Goku's energy is this powerful.
If I could absorb all of it — there's no telling how high my power could climb.
"Android 19 — you're up." 20 said to 19.
19: "..."
19's confidence was wavering.
The opponent's power reading had blown past every number the computer had spat out.
"20... Goku's energy is this enormous. If I absorb too much, will I overload and blow up?" 19 asked in a low voice, genuinely worried.
"No need to worry about that!" 20 answered with absolute certainty. "We have a built-in safeguard when absorbing energy — once it hits critical overload, the intake automatically cuts off to protect us. And at his current energy level, it's not yet in the danger range."
"That's a relief." 19 exhaled.
"Go! Absorb Goku's energy and you'll be running at full capacity for the next fifty years!" 20 said with a grin.
"Yes!" 19 gave an eager nod and walked toward Goku.
"Then let's begin." Goku smiled.
"Hmph!" 19 settled into a fighting stance.
Goku stepped in quick — and kicked.
There was no way 19 could block a kick from Goku, let alone with Goku in Super Saiyan form.
Thud!
The kick sent 19 rocketing into the sky.
20 stared wide-eyed, expression collapsing.
That big a difference?
This has to be wrong.
The numbers are way off.
19 couldn't withstand a single kick?
19 shot upward, wiped a trickle of hydraulic fluid from the corner of his face, quickly righted himself, and stared back down at Goku with murderous eyes.
Goku didn't even look up. He raised one arm — and casually fired an energy ball into the sky toward 19.
19's eyes blazed with instant, ravenous excitement.
"Now!" 20's face broke open with elation.
Goku, you may have had the upper hand at first.
But once 19 absorbs that energy ball, his power will climb past yours.
"Ha ha ha!" 19 laughed wide open, spreading his hands to receive the incoming blast.
"What is he doing?" Krillin looked completely lost.
"Is he seriously going to tank Goku's energy ball head-on?" Tien said, studying the scene carefully.
"Something feels off about his intention." Piccolo's brow furrowed. He turned to Gohan. "You really haven't seen this one before?"
"No — these two Androids don't exist in my world." Gohan shook his head.
The next moment, what happened left everyone watching completely speechless.
Android 19's lowered hands caught Goku's energy ball.
And the energy ball was rapidly shrinking.
"Watch out — he's absorbing the energy!" Krillin cried out.
"That thing can absorb energy?!" Yamcha looked stunned.
"He's absorbing energy!" Tien all three eyes went wide.
"Goku — don't fire any more energy-based attacks!" Piccolo called out immediately. "They can absorb your ki blasts!"
"Yeah, I see it." Goku nodded, completely unbothered. He smiled.
Whoosh!
The energy ball was absorbed clean, leaving nothing behind.
The moment 19 finished absorbing it, he felt a rush of stunned elation.
My energy gauge is full.
100% capacity.
20 stared hard, his eyes going wide, his lips trembling very slightly.
What just happened?
Goku threw a casual energy ball and 19 is already full?
When did Goku get this powerful?
"Ha ha ha — I'm at full capacity!" 19 laughed loudly.
Whoosh!
Goku raised his arm again — and fired another energy ball.
19: "..."
I just said I was full. Why are you throwing another one?
If I absorb any more energy, I'll blow.
19 was startled and scrambled to dodge.
Whoosh!
The energy ball scraped past 19's body and streaked off into the upper atmosphere, leaving a blazing trail across the sky.
19 stared at the energy ball that had just barely missed him, and for a split second felt as though his soul had briefly vacated his body.
How is that energy ball this fast?
I'm already at full capacity.
If I had been half a second slower, I might not have been able to dodge it.
Terrifying.
No.
I need to end this.
19 launched himself toward Goku below.
But when 19 looked down — Goku was gone.
"Where is he?" 19's expression locked, his eye twitching.
"I'm behind you." Goku's voice came from directly behind him.
19 turned his head mechanically — and found Goku materialised right at his back. His mouth fell open. His colour vanished completely.
Crack!
Goku drove an elbow down — hard — straight onto the crown of 19's head.
19 dropped from the sky.
BOOM!
He hit the ground below and cratered it.
"Kamehameha!"
Goku brought both hands together, charged up a full energy wave, and fired it down from above.
19's pupils contracted to pinpoints. His expression reached its absolute worst.
I can't absorb any more.
That much energy coming down on me — I might not make it.
BOOM!
With a world-shaking explosion —
Android 19 was blown completely apart by Goku's enormous blast.
20 stood completely still. His expression cycled through shock after shock.
I put everything into building 19. Why was he that helpless against Goku?
And 19 went down while running at full capacity.
He still wasn't enough for Goku?
Snap!
Goku landed quietly in front of 20.
20's colour was poor — but he ground his teeth and forced himself to hold steady. "I underestimated you. I admit that. Goku."
"You did." Goku nodded.
20: "..."
You agreed that fast? I wasn't expecting that.
"Even so — you still have no chance of winning." 20's voice was low and flat.
"So — you're planning to head back to your lab and wake up the sleeping 17 and 18, aren't you?" Goku said with a quiet smile.
20's eye twitched. His expression went through several rapid changes.
A few long seconds of silence.
"How — how did you know that?!" 20's face was a portrait of shock.
