Whoosh!
Goku didn't hesitate. He turned into a streak of brilliant starlight and roared toward Beerus, the sound of breaking air following in his wake.
The air was torn apart, leaving a thin vacuum trail, and the ground beneath his feet shattered from the force of his takeoff.
Boom!
Goku gathered all his strength and threw a heavy punch right at Beerus's face. The force of the wind made Beerus's whiskers twitch.
Beerus didn't dodge. He simply raised his hand and caught the punch squarely.
But the moment they made contact, Beerus's brow furrowed. A numb, aching sensation shot through his arm, and his lip twitched involuntarily.
This kid's strength is actually this high?
Beerus was secretly shocked. If he didn't start taking this seriously, he might actually take a tumble here.
Beerus let out a cold huff. He flipped his wrist downward, his palm glowing with purple Destruction energy, and shoved it toward Goku's chest.
Goku's reactions were lightning-fast. He crossed his arms to block, his hands pushing back against Beerus's palm. At the same time, he used his core strength to snap a kick right into Beerus's stomach.
Flash!
Beerus's body flickered like a ghost as he dodged the attack, his toes tapping the ground as he instantly put half a meter of distance between them.
Goku was relentless. His fists rained down on Beerus like a torrential storm, every punch carrying enough power to level a world.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sounds of breaking air were constant.
Yet, Beerus kept a smug smile on his face. His movements were as light as a feather. The instinct of Ultra Instinct allowed him to dodge every strike with precision. He even had the time to casually straighten his clothes.
Goku fought for a full thirty seconds, but he couldn't even touch the edge of Beerus's outfit.
Boom!
Goku threw another heavy punch, his fist packed with infinite power, aimed straight at Beerus's heart.
Beerus stepped to the side, letting the punch graze his shoulder. The strike missed and slammed into the ground of the Kai realm.
KABOOM!
The explosion was deafening. The sheer force instantly carved a bottomless crater into the earth, sending rocks flying and smoke billowing into the sky.
More terrifyingly, the force pierced straight through to the planet's core, causing the entire world to shake violently. The walls of the distant palace began to spiderweb with cracks, looking like they might collapse at any second.
Goku quickly pulled back his remaining power. Looking at the massive crater and the shaking ground, he looked at Beerus in surprise. "Lord Beerus, was that Ultra Instinct you just used?"
"Of course," Beerus's smile grew even more smug, his tail held high. "Ultra Instinct might be an Angel's specialty, but as a God of Destruction, I've picked up a thing or two. So? Do you see the gap between us now?"
"Hahaha! As expected of Lord Beerus!" Goku praised him sincerely, showing no sign of disappointment. Instead, he looked even more excited.
"Whis, you really were joking when you said this guy's strength had surpassed mine," Beerus turned to look at Whis, huffing and giving him a massive roll of the eyes.
Whis just gave a gentle smile and lightly swayed his staff, not bothering to argue.
"What? Whis, are you trying to tell me this guy is still hiding his strength?" Beerus raised an eyebrow, his tone testing.
"Perhaps," Whis smiled and gave a small nod.
"Kid, you dare hide your strength while fighting me? Do you think I'm some kind of joke?" Beerus's face went dark as he glared at Goku. His Destruction energy surged instantly, making the air feel suffocating.
"I didn't mean it like that, Lord Beerus," Goku said, waving his hands with a laugh. "Usually, if it's just a friendly spar, I'm a slow starter. I need a bit of time to get into the zone."
"Slow starter?" Beerus huffed dismissively, clearly not satisfied with that answer.
"From here on, I'll start ramping up my power," Goku said with a scratch of his head, his voice full of anticipation. "I've heard that Lord Beerus is the strongest of all the Gods of Destruction. It looks like this really won't be an easy fight!"
"You'd better believe it!" Beerus lifted his chin, looking smug as can be.
"I haven't been this excited in a long time!" Goku's smile grew even brighter, his eyes flashing with the light of battle. His Saiyan blood was completely boiling now.
Beerus: "..."
Beerus's lip twitched. Is this kid sick in the head? Why is he so happy after being told he can't win?
"I'm going again, Lord Beerus!" Goku rubbed his hands together and dropped into a low fighting stance, the starlight around him growing even more intense.
"You really think you can hit me?" Beerus chuckled, his voice full of confidence. "I'm barely even using Ultra Instinct and you can't even touch a single finger. You should just give up now."
"Then I'll show you some real speed!" Goku grinned, showing off his white teeth.
"Oh really?" Beerus's lip curled upward, clearly not taking him seriously.
Flash!
The moment the words left his mouth, Goku's body flickered and vanished.
Beerus's pupils shrank. Just as he was about to use his senses to find him, he felt a sudden gust of wind from behind.
Goku was already there, his right hand glowing with pale gold energy as he delivered a heavy chop.
However, Beerus was faster. His body flickered away like he was teleporting. A moment later, Beerus appeared behind Goku, a wicked grin on his face as he raised his foot and aimed a kick right at Goku's backside.
But then, something happened that shocked Beerus.
Just as his foot was about to hit, Goku's body turned into a blurry image and slowly faded away.
"The Afterimage Technique?" Beerus's face went dark, and his tail stood straight up. You dare use such a low-level move against a God of Destruction? Isn't that a bit much?
"Behind me!" Beerus huffed. Using his godly senses to lock onto the energy behind him, he threw a punch backward.
But the moment his fist landed, Goku turned into another blur and vanished.
Another Afterimage!
Beerus was starting to get steamed. His Destruction energy began to churn violently. As a God of Destruction, being toyed with by a child's trick like this was humiliating. If word got out, where would his dignity be?
Beerus quickly scanned his surroundings, sensing the energy ripples in the air, and suddenly kicked out to his left.
THWACK!
He caught Goku right in the chest.
"Goku is being too arrogant. Using such boring little tricks against Lord Beerus?" Frieza huffed from the sidelines, his eyes full of contempt. To him, this was just asking for a humiliation.
Vegeta didn't say a word. He watched the battlefield with a pale face, his nails digging into his palms.
This time, Vegeta had truly taken a heavy blow to his pride. His heart was in total turmoil.
Why is the gap between me and Kakarot getting bigger and bigger? Dammit! I feel like I never want to fight again...
I'd be better off going home and living a quiet life with Bulma, maybe having more kids. Kakarot, you bastard!
We're both reincarnators, so why are you so much stronger? Do I really have to keep breaking past Super Saiyan 4 just to catch up to you? No! Even if I break through, it feels like I still won't catch up! This guy is using Super Saiyan 5!
When I get back, I have to master Super Saiyan 4 as soon as possible. I heard that transformation is easy—the simplest way is just to grow a tail...
"Kid, see where you can run now!" Beerus laughed triumphantly as he saw his kick land. He rushed forward to follow up with another blow.
But just as his fist was about to hit, the figure in front of him turned into another blur.
Still an Afterimage!
"Is there no end to this?" Beerus's face was as black as the bottom of a pot. His anger was soaring as he suddenly punched upward.
But again, he only hit an Afterimage of Goku making a funny face.
"Haha, I'm over here, Lord Beerus!" Goku's voice rang out from above. He was hovering in mid-air, and he snapped a kick toward Beerus, his toes trailing starlight.
It looked like the kick was going to land.
Flash!
Beerus's body vanished instantly. Goku's kick hit nothing but air.
"Hmph. You really think you can show off a low-level move like the Afterimage Technique in front of a God of Destruction?" Beerus's voice came from behind Goku, dripping with mockery.
Goku's expression tightened. He instinctively ducked, barely dodging a palm strike from Beerus. Then, Goku took the chance to kick backward, aiming right for Beerus's knee.
Beerus stepped aside and reached out, grabbing Goku by the ankle. He put his strength into his arm and slammed Goku's body hard into the ground.
BANG!
Goku hit the ground hard, kicking up a cloud of rocks. He yelped in pain, a burning sensation spreading across his back.
"Kid, you think you can surpass me? You're ten thousand years too early!" Beerus huffed. With a violent swing of his arm, he tossed Goku into the sky like a piece of trash.
Whoosh!
Beerus gathered a streak of purple Destruction energy in his palm and fired it at the airborne Goku. He sneered, "This one's going to hurt. Any other God of Destruction would be seriously injured by this."
But just as the energy was about to hit, Beerus felt something was wrong. The energy signature of that figure was too weak.
"I'm over here, Lord Beerus!" Goku's voice rang out from behind him.
Beerus's face changed instantly. Just as he was about to turn around, he felt a sharp pain in his back.
THWACK!
Goku delivered a brutal kick right to Beerus's back, sending him stumbling forward. He almost fell flat on his face.
Beerus quickly steadied himself and turned around with a dark face, glaring at Goku. The fire in his eyes looked like it could melt stone.
"Kid, you're getting too cocky!" Beerus was so angry his nose was practically smoking. His Destruction energy erupted like a volcano as he charged at Goku, launching a torrential storm of attacks.
Goku didn't dare take it lightly. He raised his hands to block, his fists clashing against Beerus's palms over and over.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The dull thuds of their blows were constant.
For a moment, they were evenly matched. The shockwaves from their energy swept out in all directions, blowing the shattered rocks into the air until they filled the sky. It was impossible to tell who had the advantage.
In fact, after several rounds of clashing, Goku was starting to find his rhythm. His energy grew even stronger, and he was slowly starting to gain the upper hand.
Seeing this, Vegeta clenched his fists so hard his body shook with pure frustration. After a moment of dazed staring, he finally couldn't bear to look anymore.
The gap was just too painful for his pride.
I shouldn't be here watching Kakarot and Beerus fight. I should be doing something practical.
That's right... the tail!
Vegeta suddenly remembered the key to Super Saiyan 4. His eyes lit up, and he immediately turned to the Supreme Kai, flying over to him at high speed.
The Supreme Kai was watching the battle with a tense expression when he saw Vegeta charging toward him. He blinked in surprise. "Mr. Vegeta? Is something the matter?"
"Supreme Kai, can you see Trunks?" Vegeta got straight to the point, his voice urgent.
"Yes, he's in the Cube, heading toward New Namek," the Supreme Kai nodded. A small crystal ball appeared in his hand, clearly showing Trunks's figure inside the craft.
"Take me there!" Vegeta ordered in a tone that left no room for argument.
"Well... of course. No problem," the Supreme Kai didn't dare refuse and nodded quickly.
Flash!
The next moment, the Supreme Kai grabbed Vegeta's wrist and used Instant Transmission. Their figures flickered and vanished from the spot.
In the blink of an eye, they appeared inside Trunks's Flight Cube.
"Huh? Dad?" Trunks was focused on piloting the Cube when he saw Vegeta appear. He was stunned for a second, then broke into an excited grin. "What are you doing here? Is the fight between Mr. Goku and Lord Beerus over?"
"Not yet," Vegeta shook his head, his eyes scanning the Cube's control panel. "How much longer until we reach New Namek?"
"According to the info on the display, at least another ten minutes or so," Trunks answered honestly, checking the manual.
"Supreme Kai, can you take us directly to New Namek?" Vegeta turned back to the Kai, adding, "Take the Cube with us, too."
"Well... let me try. It shouldn't be a problem," the Supreme Kai mused for a moment before nodding. The Cube wasn't that big, and he had enough power to bring it along.
Flash!
As soon as he finished speaking, a pale gold light erupted from the Supreme Kai, enveloping the entire Flight Cube. A second later, the Cube, along with Vegeta and Trunks inside, instantly appeared on the plains of New Namek.
"We made it!" the Supreme Kai let out a sigh of relief and managed a small smile.
"Greetings, Supreme Kai!"
Moori, the Grand Elder of the Namekians, had been waiting nearby. He and a group of Namekians quickly stepped forward to bow, their expressions full of respect.
"No need for formalities. You guys chat, I'm heading back," the Supreme Kai waved them off. With that, he turned into a streak of light and vanished. He still wanted to catch the end of Goku and Beerus's fight.
"Hello, Vegeta, Trunks," Grand Elder Moori stood up and greeted them with a warm smile. "We already know why you're here. Zamasu, the Supreme Kai from another universe, has been causing chaos on Earth. Not only that, but he wants to wipe out all mortals in the universe. It's truly terrible."
"Ah... then you must know why we've come," Trunks said, taking an urgent step forward. He'd been dreaming of the day he could bring his friends on Earth back to life.
"The Dragon Balls are ready for you. you can make your wishes right now," Grand Elder Moori nodded gently, his eyes full of understanding.
Following his words, several Namekians stepped forward, each holding a Dragon Ball that pulsed with a faint green light. They carefully arranged them on the ground in a circle, and a light energy ripple shimmered between them.
"Shenron, come forth and grant our wishes!" Grand Elder Moori clasped his hands and called out to the dragon, Porunga, in the Namekian language.
Instantly, the sky over New Namek turned pitch black. Clouds churned, and a violent wind began to howl. A massive, green dragon slowly emerged from the clouds, its giant body covering half the night sky.
"You who have gathered the Dragon Balls, speak your wishes. I will do my best to grant three!" Porunga's voice boomed like a giant bell, echoing through the night.
"All three wishes are yours," Grand Elder Moori said politely, stepping aside for Trunks and Vegeta.
"Thank you, Grand Elder! We're really sorry for the trouble!" Trunks bowed deeply, his eyes turning a bit red with emotion. If it weren't for the Namekians' help, the hope for Earth would have been lost long ago.
"It's nothing. After all, this involves the fate of the Earth as well. It's only right that we help," Moori smiled and waved him off.
"Dad, should I make the wishes?" Trunks turned to Vegeta, looking for his approval.
"What do you plan to wish for?" Vegeta asked, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow.
"To bring back everyone on Earth who was killed by Zamasu and his gang, of course!" Trunks said, his voice full of hope.
"For the first wish, have the Earth restored to the way it was before Zamasu and the others appeared," Vegeta suggested after a moment of thought. "Then use the second wish to bring everyone back. If we fix the planet first, the people won't be homeless when they wake up."
"Dad, you thought of everything!" Trunks's eyes lit up. He immediately turned to Porunga and shouted, "For the first wish, restore the Earth to exactly how it was before Zamasu and his allies appeared! For the second wish, bring back everyone who was killed by Zamasu and his group!"
Porunga's crimson eyes flashed. A deep voice rang out, "The first two wishes have been received. They shall be granted immediately."
As soon as he finished, two invisible green lights shot into the sky, heading straight for Earth. In the distance, the stars flickered slightly as Earth was rapidly restored to its original state, and the dead began to wake up one by one.
"Speak your third wish," Porunga's voice rumbled again, urging them on.
"The third wish is for me. I'll use it!" Vegeta stepped forward, his jaw set and his eyes full of determination.
"Oh... okay, Dad," Trunks blinked in surprise, but he nodded.
"My wish is to have my tail grow back!" Vegeta looked directly at Porunga and clearly stated his wish.
Trunks: "..."
Trunks's expression went blank for a second, and then it hit him. Dad wants to become a Super Saiyan 4!
But wait, hadn't his dad looked down on Super Saiyan 4 before? He'd called it a "savage transformation." Why the sudden change of heart?
"No problem," Porunga nodded. A faint purple energy erupted from his crimson eyes, washing over Vegeta like a stream of water.
A second later, Vegeta felt a slight warmth at the base of his spine. A tail covered in black fur slowly grew out, its tip giving a light flick. His Saiyan tail, which had been gone for decades, was finally back!
"Your wishes have been granted. Farewell," Porunga said. His massive body broke apart into seven Dragon Balls, which shot into the sky. The light on their surfaces faded, turning them into gray stones that fell back to the grass of New Namek with a series of thuds.
"Thank you so much, Grand Elder!" Trunks bowed deeply again, his voice full of gratitude.
"You're very welcome. Take care on your journey," Moori smiled and waved, his eyes full of kindness.
"Dad, should we head back now?" Trunks asked Vegeta.
"No rush. I'm going to transform first!" Vegeta's lip curled into a confident smirk. His tail flicked behind him, and his eyes flashed with anticipation.
"Transform?" Trunks blinked, looking at Vegeta with curiosity.
Snap!
Vegeta raised his hand and gathered energy. A glowing golden sphere appeared in his palm, packed with the Blutz Waves that simulated moonlight.
Whoosh!
Vegeta tossed the light sphere high into the air. It exploded, turning into an artificial full moon dozens of meters wide that bathed the land in soft moonlight.
Vegeta looked up at the artificial moon. His pupils turned a deep crimson, and his energy began to surge. A moment later, his body grew at a visible rate. His muscles bulged, and black fur quickly covered his body until he was a ten-meter-tall Great Ape. His roar was so loud it made the surrounding trees shake.
Flash!
A brilliant golden light erupted from the Great Ape's body. Its fur turned golden instantly, and its energy spiked again.
Super Saiyan transformation!
The Great Ape shifted again, becoming a majestic Golden Great Ape, every breath releasing a massive wave of energy.
Then, Vegeta took a deep breath. The Golden Great Ape's body began to shrink rapidly. The fur receded, and he finally returned to human form.
But this time, Vegeta's hair was a deep crimson. His body was covered in dark red fur, and his eyes were golden. He had a red mark between his brows. This was the Super Saiyan 4 form!
"So this is Super Saiyan 4? It's not even that hard to transform," Vegeta said, stretching his wrists. He felt the incredible power coursing through him and gave a smug grin. "I guess I made it look easy."
Trunks: "..."
