Chapter 19 - Ch 19- Something's Wrong with Robin

After both sides left, news that Alvin and Daru would duel tomorrow at noon to decide the true number one sniper of West Blue spread rapidly across the Dareleka Islands.

Inside a luxurious hotel suite, Robin looked at Alvin with confusion in her eyes.

"Alvin, why did you schedule the duel for tomorrow at noon?"

Alvin leaned back into the soft sofa.

"Because Daru does not only want to reclaim the title of West Blue's number one sniper. He also wants to prove that his marksmanship can accomplish what others cannot."

Robin frowned slightly and walked over to sit across from him.

"Accomplish what others cannot?"

"Tomorrow's weather," Alvin replied calmly. "There is a high probability of rain around noon. When it rains, the wind is usually at its strongest. That kind of weather is the ultimate test for a sniper. If Daru defeats me under those conditions, his prestige will rise even higher than before."

Robin's expression immediately turned serious.

She knew Alvin would not change his decision. All she could do now was hope he would win tomorrow's duel.

"Don't worry, Robin. Trust me. I would never do something I am not confident about." Alvin smiled faintly.

After all, although his current 30 million Berries bounty contained some exaggeration, he was certain that his physical ability already surpassed Daru's.

Daru was famous for his shooting skills, not his physique.

More importantly, Alvin still had over 30 million bounty points available. If he allocated them properly, his real strength would far exceed the 30 million Berries level.

"Alright. I won't try to stop you anymore. I'll go ask the hotel to prepare food. You eat a lot, so you need to maintain peak condition for tomorrow." Robin spoke seriously, then stood up and left the room.

After watching her leave, Alvin immediately summoned his system interface.

[Ding~]

[Enhancing... Enhancement complete!]

Within seconds, Alvin's Physical Strength rose to the 38 million Berries level, and his Observation Haki proficiency increased from 10/100 to 30/100.

Not long after, Robin returned with a waiter pushing a dining cart filled with Alvin's favorite dishes.

"Wow."

"Sea King meat? Where did you get this?" Alvin immediately recognized the texture and flavor after one bite.

He had tasted it once in Asriel. It was extremely expensive.

"I asked the hotel specifically. They were not sure of its origin either. How is it? If you like it, eat more. You need to be in your best condition tomorrow." Robin rested her chin on her hand and watched him with a gentle smile.

"Of course it's delicious. If there's any dish in this world better than Sea King meat, it must be a dazzling dish made from Sea King meat by Little Chef," Alvin blurted out without thinking.

"Little Chef? Who is that? A very skilled chef?" Robin asked curiously.

"Absolutely. A special grade chef capable of creating dazzling dishes," Alvin replied vaguely, his mouth full of meat.

"If there's a chance, you must take me to try it. I've never tasted a dazzling dish before." Robin smiled faintly.

For a brief moment, a trace of loneliness and reluctance flickered in her eyes, so subtle it was almost invisible.

It disappeared just as quickly.

Alvin froze for a second. Where was he supposed to find a Little Chef?

He quickly improvised. "He's hard to find. If I ever run into him, I'll definitely take you. By the way, aren't you eating?"

"You eat. I don't need as much as you do. So it's settled. You'll take me someday, right?" Robin continued watching him quietly, as if she had not noticed his lie.

"Mm." Alvin lowered his head and focused on the Sea King meat.

After a while, Robin spoke again.

"Oh, right. Could you take my luggage out? I have some time now and need to organize the information I gathered recently."

"Sure." Without hesitation, Alvin retrieved her luggage from the system storage.

Robin picked it up.

"You keep eating. I'll go back to my room and work for a while."

"Okay."

Robin walked toward her room, her long wheat colored legs moving steadily as she carried the suitcase.

The moment she closed the door behind her, tears silently filled her eyes.

She did not dare make a sound.

She knew Alvin possessed Observation Haki. Even the slightest noise might alert him.

She could only blame herself in silence.

Alvin, don't blame me...

A few minutes later, a dull thud sounded from outside.

Robin's body stiffened.

She immediately opened the door and rushed out.

Alvin had already collapsed onto the floor.

At that moment, Robin could no longer hold back. A broken sob escaped her lips, but she quickly covered her mouth, forcing herself to calm down. She wiped her tears away and gently touched Alvin's cheek.

She carried him back to the sofa.

Reluctance filled her eyes again.

She knelt beside him, watching him quietly.

More than ten minutes passed.

Then she stood up, went into her room, and returned with her backpack slung over her shoulder.

She walked to Alvin, bent down, and softly kissed his forehead.

Goodbye, Alvin~

She whispered those words silently in her heart.

Then, suppressing the pain in her chest, she turned and left the suite.

Her figure looked unbearably lonely.

After leaving the hotel, she walked into a dark alley and spoke calmly, her voice sted of emotion.

"I've done as you asked. Alvin has been dealt with. Now you can let me go, right?"

"Hehehe~"

"This is the Nico Robin I know."
