"Vegeta! You bastard! How dare you destroy Lord Frieza's base? You've got some nerve!" Cui shouted the moment he arrived, pointing angrily at Vegeta.
Vegeta: "..."
"Hmph. What does it have to do with me?" Vegeta snorted coldly, offering no further explanation.
"Don't play dumb, Vegeta. I know Nappa and Raditz are dead," Cui sneered. "Heh heh… so who was it that made the invincible Saiyans look so pathetic?"
"Get lost, Cui. I don't have time for your nonsense," Vegeta said impatiently, preparing to head straight for Namek.
But just as he passed by, Cui grabbed his shoulder armor, forcing him to stop.
"Listen to me, Vegeta," Cui said coldly. "Lord Frieza is furious about your unauthorized actions!"
"Hmph. That's none of his business," Vegeta snapped, rolling his eyes. "Take your filthy hands off me!"
"Relax. Lord Frieza is generous," Cui chuckled, releasing his grip. "He's already forgiven you—because you discovered something very valuable."
Vegeta's heart sank.
"What… what did you say?"
"Lord Frieza is thrilled. He might soon gain immortality," Cui laughed.
Vegeta's face changed instantly.
"Don't tell me…"
"That's right. Namek," Cui said smugly.
Vegeta's expression turned ugly.
Damn it!
That bastard Frieza must have overheard everything through the scouter!
I was too careless!
I can't let him get his wish.
If he becomes immortal, I'll never become a Super Saiyan.
"You were planning to use the Dragon Balls for immortality too, right? Give it up!" Cui laughed loudly. "After making his wish, Lord Frieza plans to wipe out all the Namekians!"
"Bastard!" Veins bulged on Vegeta's forehead as he rushed past Cui toward his ship.
"Whoosh!"
Cui was faster.
In an instant, he appeared in front of Vegeta and blocked his path.
"Where do you think you're going, Vegeta?" Cui sneered.
"Move! Do you want to die?" Vegeta roared.
"Where's your scouter?" Cui asked mockingly.
"Hmph. I don't need that thing anymore," Vegeta replied.
After visiting Earth, he had learned how Earth's Saiyans sensed energy.
If Kakarot could do it, so could he.
He was a genius, after all.
From now on, he wouldn't rely on scouters.
"You don't need it?" Cui froze for a moment, then laughed. "Then take a look at mine. Your power level is still 18,000. No improvement at all."
Vegeta remained silent.
"Know how strong I am now?" Cui grinned proudly. "21,000. Far above you!"
Vegeta's expression darkened.
"You've wrecked Lord Frieza's planet. I wouldn't mind capturing you and handing you over to him," Cui said coldly.
With that, he charged forward at lightning speed.
Vegeta panicked and threw a powerful punch.
Cui dodged easily.
"Bang!"
Cui countered with a brutal uppercut to Vegeta's stomach.
"Gah—!"
Vegeta spat out bile and was sent flying.
Cui burst into laughter, leaped up, and delivered a flashy side kick.
"Boom!"
Vegeta crashed into the ground, bounced several times, and finally stopped, blood spraying from his mouth.
"A 3,000-point gap. That's pretty big," Cui laughed arrogantly, stepping on Vegeta's head.
Vegeta felt overwhelming humiliation.
Damn it…
When did this guy get so strong?
He used to be about the same as me!
"Damn you!" Vegeta lashed out with a sweeping kick, nearly knocking Cui over.
He followed up with a heavy punch to Cui's chest, dragging him across the ground.
A long trench was carved into the earth.
But Cui quickly recovered, snorted coldly, and rammed his knee into Vegeta's abdomen.
"Gah—!"
Vegeta vomited blood again.
Then Cui grabbed his hair and smashed his head into the ground.
"Aghhh!"
Vegeta screamed in agony, feeling like his whole body was falling apart.
"You think you can beat me?" Cui sneered, launching a ruthless barrage of punches and kicks.
Vegeta was beaten senseless, soon barely conscious.
Cui lifted him by the collar and sneered.
"And you call yourself a Saiyan warrior? A genius?" Cui scoffed. "You can't even beat me. What a joke!"
Vegeta's heart sank into despair.
Losing to Kakarot was bad enough.
Now I can't even beat Cui…
I'm done.
I'm going to die.
Damn it…
I haven't become a Super Saiyan yet!
I don't want to die!
"Tch. How boring. I thought you'd last longer," Cui said disappointedly.
He tossed Vegeta aside like trash.
"Smack!"
Vegeta slammed heavily into the ground.
The impact knocked a Senzu Bean out of his pocket.
It rolled to his side.
Vegeta froze.
Staring at the bean, Kakarot's annoying face flashed through his mind.
This… is the bean he gave me.
He said to eat it when I'm in danger.
I don't want to…
But I have no choice.
With great effort, Vegeta grabbed the bean and stuffed it into his mouth.
Cui watched without stopping him.
"What, having a snack before dying?" Cui sneered. "Go ahead. I'm not killing you yet. I'm taking you to Lord Frieza. You'll live a little longer."
