The hallway outside the secured elevator became completely silent after Elias spoke; Seraphina stared at him without moving. The words echoed too closely against memories she spent months trying to bury.
Lucien stepped slightly closer to her immediately; his posture changed so subtly that most people would not notice it, but she did.
Victoria looked between them in confusion. "What does that even mean?"
Elias rubbed a hand across his jaw tiredly. "He refused to explain further."
Lucien's voice lowered. "Where is he now?"
"In holding", Elias said.
Lucien nodded once. "I want full interrogation access."
Elias hesitated. "The situation is complicated."
Lucien's eyes hardened slightly. "Explain",
"The suspect collapsed again after speaking."
Seraphina's stomach tightened. "Collapsed how?"
Elias exhaled quietly. "Neurological distress. Seizure-like symptoms."
Victoria frowned sharply. "That sounds medically induced."
