The Monday after the Global Enterprise Summit began with three meeting requests. By noon, there were eleven. By the end of the day, there were twenty-three. Seraphina stared at the list displayed on her monitor and slowly leaned back in her chair; none of the names surprised her. That was the problem. Every executive requesting a private discussion shared one thing in common: they had all supported Adrian's network; some had done so openly, others had done it quietly.
Either way, their loyalties had been clear until now. A knock sounded at her office door.
"Come in."
Claire entered carrying a tablet and a stack of folders. "You need to see this."
Seraphina accepted the documents; the first folder contained partnership proposals, the second contained investment enquiries, and the third contained requests for strategic protection agreements.
She flipped through the pages, then she looked up. "They're moving fast."
Claire nodded. "They think Adrian is finished."
