Chapter 129 - chapter 130: The Council Decision.

The Council meeting came sooner than expected.

Same room.

Same sharp eyes.

But this time something felt different.

Respect.

One member spoke:

"You handled pressure well."

Another added:

"You built independent influence."

Then the final question came:

"Do you seek control?"

I answered honestly.

"No."

Silence.

Then I added:

"I seek stability."

That answer changed the room.

Because control creates fear.

Stability creates longevity.

After a long pause the woman who first questioned me said:

"Your father gave the same answer."

That surprised me.

Then she said the words that ended my evaluation:

"You are accepted."

Not applause.

Not celebration.

Just quiet acceptance.

Which meant something bigger.

I wasn't being tested anymore.

I was now part of the system.

My biggest decision came weeks later.

Instead of expanding aggressively…

I merged several mid-level companies into one cooperative structure.

Shared protection.

Shared legal power.

Shared resources.

Competitors didn't understand.

Victor did.

"You're reducing chaos," he said.

"Yes."

"You're making the market harder to manipulate."

"That's the point."

He smiled slightly.

"Your father would approve."

That mattered more than he knew.

Because this wasn't just strategy.

This was philosophy.

Power that protects instead of crushes.

For the first time Victor said something close to praise.

"You didn't become him."

I waited.

"You became something more balanced."

That might have been the greatest

compliment I could receive.
