Chapter 8 - OPHK: Chapter 8

"I won't join the Navy. I'll never join the Navy in this lifetime!" Grimm took a sip of rum and exhaled a puff of air, saying: "Although you Navy guys are all talented, many of you are rude and don't speak nicely."

Kuzan was helpless. The reason for the rejection was too perfunctory. Also, was he being rude?

But Grimm continued: "I believe in the Holy Light, not your Navy's justice."

"Ah... I see. That's really a shame!" Kuzan didn't plan to continue persuading him, not only because he wasn't good at this kind of thing, but also because he could clearly see from Grimm's eyes that this guy didn't take the Navy seriously at all.

"Can I ask you one more question?" Kuzan asked.

"Rear Admiral, feel free to ask. I'll tell you everything I know!" Grimm said with a smile.

At this moment, Kuzan's expression became completely serious, and all the laziness on his face disappeared: "What is your purpose for going to sea? Do you simply want to be a pirate hunter, earning money in the right way, or do you want to be like Roger, Whitebeard, and others, planning to become a pirate and aim to dominate the Grand Line?"

Since the other party couldn't be a Navy, he should at least figure out what kind of person Grimm was, or test what path he would take in the future and whether he would pose a threat to the Navy.

"What did you join the Navy for, Rear Admiral!" Grimm asked back.

"For the justice in my heart!" Kuzan replied seriously, a hint of pride flashing across his face.

"Then, Rear Admiral, what do you think justice is? What is the justice in your heart?" Grimm asked very seriously.

The current Kuzan wasn't the Aokiji of the future. Justice was very vague in his heart, so when Grimm asked this question, he fell silent.

Grimm knew that Kuzan would slowly implement his own justice in the future.

Kuzan's personality was very leisurely. When he first joined the Navy, he raised the banner of "passionate justice," but after years of training, he gradually became "lazy justice," and finally sublimated into "unhurried justice."

At this point in time, he should have given up on "passionate justice" and was in a confused period.

"Rear Admiral, please answer my question!" Grimm pressed.

"Um... um... this..." Kuzan was speechless.

"Rear Admiral, you don't even know the Navy's justice. What reason do you have to drag me down with you!" Grimm said bluntly.

"Hey, hey, if you put it that way, I feel like the Navy is a pit!" Kuzan felt that he was being led astray: "Then, Paladin Grimm, can you explain what justice is?" Kuzan's expression became serious again.

"Ah, justice." Grimm thought for a moment. "The Holy Light tells me that love, equality, freedom, mercy, humility, honesty, courage, and judgment are justice. They are also the eight laws that I, as a paladin, follow. Before the Holy Light, everyone is equal!"

Kuzan frowned, feeling that what the other party said made sense and he couldn't refute it.

Of course, all of this was nonsense that Grimm made up.

When Grimm came to this world, he thought about what he wanted to do in the future. Kill Momonosuke? Sorry, that was just a side trip.

This was the world of "One Piece." How could he not have a dream?

Grimm had only one ultimate goal: to hell with the World Government! He wanted to be the king of this world, to become the Highlord of this world.

He was the man who would become the "World King"!

When he conquered the entire world, he would rename it "Azeroth"!

Everything for Azeroth!

Of course, Grimm couldn't say that. If he did, he would probably be camped by the Navy wherever he went!

So, he should avoid this topic as much as possible. Talking too much would hurt their feelings!

"That's why I won't join your Navy. Your Navy doesn't have the Holy Light, and it doesn't have the justice I want!"

Just then, behind Grimm, a large man with a purple afro and hairy legs wearing fishnet stockings stood up and walked out, trembling. No one noticed her.

Kuzan frowned even more. He realized that he was still too young and seemed to have been led astray again: "But... Mr. Grimm, you still haven't told me why you went to sea..."

"For Azeroth!" Grimm said.

Kuzan: ???

"Azeroth? Is that your lover? Or a lost relative? Or a place?"

Grimm nodded: "Yes, it's a beautiful place. I want to find it!" Then he changed the subject: "But none of that is important. Actually, I went to sea to kill someone, a man named Kozuki Momonosuke."

"Kozuki Momonosuke? Is he from Wano Country? You went to sea to seek revenge on him?" Kuzan seemed to have gotten the answer he wanted. There were a lot of people who went to sea to seek revenge!

"I guess so. I hate him, so I have to live well before he's born!"

Kuzan didn't want to ask any more questions. This guy went to sea to kill someone who hadn't been born yet? He was obviously messing with him. This conversation couldn't continue.

Kuzan didn't want to ask any further questions. After talking so much, the other party hadn't answered him at all.

But Kuzan analyzed it a bit and came to a conclusion: this guy was a charlatan. Maybe he went to sea to preach?

Grimm stood up and said, "It's rare to meet a Logia-type user. Let's have a battle to spar, Rear Admiral!"

But before he could finish speaking, Kuzan felt something warm pressing against his neck. To outsiders, it looked like Grimm had pulled a greatsword out of nowhere and held it to Kuzan's neck.

"Hey, don't do anything too extreme..." Kuzan said in a drawn-out voice. His body began to freeze, and Grimm noticed that a thin layer of ice had formed on the Ashbringer.

"Ah~ so troublesome..." Kuzan stretched, "I have no fighting spirit at all!"

Grimm suddenly smiled and whistled: "Hey! Grandson!"

"Huh?" For some reason, Kuzan suddenly felt his fighting spirit rise sharply. The way he looked at Grimm had changed. He really wanted to beat Grimm up and kill him.

Grimm smiled. It seemed the skill was working!

"Ding, you used the skill [Reckoning (Taunt)] on Kuzan. The skill is in effect. Please take defensive measures, Host!"

Grimm was a little excited. As the rarest of the three Devil Fruit types, the Logia type, Grimm had long wanted to see if his attacks could hurt them.

What did it mean that Holy attacks ignored form?

"Since we're going to fight, we should change locations to avoid hurting innocent people," Kuzan said. The two of them quickly walked towards the deserted east coast of the island. The staff in the bar breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed to the ground.

Every time Kuzan thought about this day in the future, he didn't understand why he had agreed to the other party's request for a spar.

"Was it to fail to recruit him, investigate his combat intelligence, and give Zephyr-sensei an explanation?"
