CLANG!
Plank's blade clashed heavily against Momonga's dark sword, sending the Vice Admiral skidding backward several steps.
"Damn it! How has his strength grown so rapidly?!" Momonga remembered clearly fighting this gunner-swordsman years ago. Back then, their power had been evenly matched. But now, after merely dozens of exchanges, he could feel himself being completely overwhelmed.
"Kid, I'm gonna carve you up!" Plank used Flash to appear instantly right in front of Momonga, swinging his blade horizontally to end the fight right there.
Oh no! I can't dodge this!
Momonga's heart sank. I'm dead!
CLANG!
The sound of metal grinding against metal rang out. A long sword intercepted Plank's Blaze Style, blocking the attack completely. The wielder was a Vice Admiral with the head of a Dalmatian.
"Momonga, stay focused! Don't give up!" Dalmatian shouted encouragingly. Although he was only two years senior, they were both students of Zephyr, making him the senior here.
"I understand, Senior!" Momonga replied, his fighting spirit reigniting. He used Geppo to launch himself into the air, then dove down like a hawk, slashing fiercely at Plank.
"Damn, you scared me!" Plank blocked the powerful strike effortlessly with his pistol. I thought it was some ultimate technique or something…
And so, the three of them were locked in fierce combat, yet even two Vice Admirals of the Headquarters were still being pushed to their limits.
"Let me help you!" Another voice roared as Onigumo rushed into the fray. "Feel the power of the Eight-Sword Style!"
Seeing this, Plank pulled a massive gunpowder barrel out of nowhere and placed it on the ground. He flashed backward and fired a single shot directly at the barrel.
"Watch out! It's dangerous!"
"Retreat! Now!"
"Huh?"
Momonga warned immediately—he knew firsthand the destructive power of those barrels. He instantly used Soru to put distance between himself and the blast.
Onigumo and Dalmatian didn't hesitate to listen; Momonga had experience fighting this man, after all.
BOOM!
A massive explosion erupted, flames shooting high into the sky.
---
At this moment, the battlefield at Marineford could only be described as absolute chaos. Blood and severed limbs littered the ground.
The ferocious beasts and transformed "disguised" soldiers fought hand-to-hand with regular marines, while the high-ranking officers clashed against the top-tier powerhouses of the Golden Lion Alliance.
Sengoku the Buddha faced off against Shiki the Golden Lion. Transforming into his giant Buddha form, light radiated from his body, and every punch he threw shook the earth and shattered the sky, truly appearing as the very embodiment of Justice.
Every time Sally Whitemane saw Sengoku transform, she couldn't help but suspect: Does he actually use Holy Light too? Is he secretly another spy planted by Lord Grimm?
Elsewhere, Kaido and his crew were still locked in battle with the three future Admirals.
Akainu was taking the worst beating by far, so Aokiji—who was fighting the less offensively aggressive Jack—would occasionally switch focus to attack Kaido, helping to relieve the pressure on his colleague.
As for Kizaru and King…
Kizaru: "Yoo-hoo Watch my Light Speed Kick… wait, gotta charge up first Have you ever been kicked by a charged Light Speed Kick before?"
King: "..."
Is this idiot for real?
Kizaru: "Oh wow, you dodged it! King is so scary Now take this… Eight Feet Shiny Mirror Ball… pew pew pew!"
King: "Are you actually a marine or not?!"
Seeing Kizaru just going through the motions, King was initially speechless, but eventually got used to it. If he wants to slack off, fine. I'm too lazy to exert my full strength anyway.
Meanwhile, Plank was being ganged up on by three to five Vice Admirals at once. But thanks to his amazing orange regeneration ability and strength rivalling an Admiral, he remained completely unshakable.
The other officers of the Golden Lion Pirates were busy fighting against the remaining Vice and Rear Admirals, resulting in brutal, evenly matched exchanges.
Of course, aside from these people, there was one other person just there to have fun: The True Windstorm Man!
He wasn't fighting any named officers. Instead, he was darting through the crowds of grunts like a phantom. His speed, his posture, his sheer arrogance were unmatched. Wherever he passed, bodies fell like wheat.
But the worst part was, no one could do anything to him. He was simply too fast! And ranged attacks didn't work on him at all…
"Yasuo you bastard! Get over here and help me!" As more and more of Shiki's officers fell, two more Vice Admirals joined the pile against Plank.
Current Score: Plank vs Momonga + Dalmatian + Onigumo + Komei + Yakuzume.
To be honest, Plank was starting to struggle. It felt exactly like being a squishy damage dealer in Summoner's Rift, getting focused fired by a whole team of high-level enemies. It sucked.
Seeing this, Yasuo's eyes narrowed. "Walk with the wind, yet watch your back… Bow before the King of Blows!"
He swung his katana violently, and a massive tornado—over a hundred metres wide—screamed forward in a straight line. Every soldier in its path was instantly sliced to pieces by the cutting wind. And its destination? Exactly where Plank was fighting.
"You idiot! Are you trying to kill me too?!" Plank cursed. Watching the tornado bear down on him, he knew he couldn't dodge it in time.
Of course, the five Vice Admirals were caught in it as well.
WHOOSH!
As the gale swept through, all six individuals—including Plank—were lifted high up into the air.
Plank immediately took a bite of an orange, used Flash, and got the hell out of there. He knew exactly what Yasuo was about to do next. Getting hit by that move would be the end of him!
The other five Vice Admirals, however, found their bodies completely paralyzed and drained of strength, unable to do anything but rise higher and higher into the sky.
When they reached the peak of their ascent, they looked down in terror to see Yasuo raising his sword.
"One sword, one thought… My life is mine to command, not Heaven's! I am Yasuo, the King of Blows! Bow before me!"
In an instant, Yasuo vanished from his spot.
"Last Breath!"
He reappeared at the very top of the tornado, his blade becoming a blur of motion. With every swing, a blade of wind shot out, striking the five trapped officers repeatedly. Strangely enough, no wounds appeared on their bodies.
In the span of two seconds, no one could count how many strikes he landed—fifty? A hundred? It was impossible to tell.
Yasuo landed softly on the ground, sheathing his sword. He turned his back to the five officers who were now beginning to fall.
The tornado vanished instantly.
Then…
SLICE! SLICE! SLICE!
SPLATTER! SPLATTER! SPLATTER!
Countless invisible sword marks suddenly appeared all over their bodies. The five Vice Admirals crashed heavily onto the ground, all of them critically wounded and defeated instantly.
"T-The Vice Admirals… they were wiped out!"
"How is this even possible…?"
The soldiers watched in absolute horror. This man… he's a demon!
---
Sabaody Archipelago.
One of the screens perfectly captured this entire sequence.
"This… this is the true power of the World's Greatest Swordsman!"
"So strong… absolutely terrifying…"
Standing among the crowd, a man with dark hair and a massive black sword strapped to his back clenched his fists tightly until his knuckles turned white. I still have such a long way to go… Damn it!
---
"Not bad, kid! Good job!" Plank said carelessly as he walked up to Yasuo.
"How many times do I have to tell you?! Call me… The King of Blows!" Yasuo corrected him, looking very displeased.
Just then, Plank received Grimm's message.
"Plank, target one thousand metres directly in front of me. Fire!"
"Roger that, Boss! Charge through the fire and flames! Let the cowards fear the might of heavy artillery! Chehahahaha! ALL CANNONS, FIRE!"
