Chapter 252 - OPHK: Chapter 252

"He hasn't really done anything particularly evil… yet."

Kong paused, then let out a strange, cold laugh. "He just got… really hungry, and ate two entire islands."

Tsuru: "???!!"

"According to Marines who witnessed it, his height is over one hundred and fifty meters. Our own giants in the Marine Corps aren't even as big as one of his arms," Kong explained.

Tsuru's expression shifted drastically. "Is there a race of land‑dwellers in this world larger than the Giants or the Ancient Warriors like Oars?"

"Exactly. That's why Vegapunk and the World Government are extremely interested. They want to capture him and study him. Did he eat a Devil Fruit? Or is he some kind of modified human? Hmph… what a bunch of freaks…" Kong sneered in disgust.

"With a size that massive, he must be impossible to miss. Who are we sending to get him?" Tsuru asked.

"No rush. It seems he has no intention of heading toward the New World; he's just drifting aimlessly. We'll wait for now. Besides, there's another pirate crew we need to deal with first."

"Which one?"

"The Donquixote Pirates."

The first half of the Grand Line — Paradise

Crescent Island — a place with little to distinguish it, save for its highly developed wheat farming industry, which supplied roughly 30% of all flour sold across Paradise.

Right now, in front of a shipyard, a dozen shipwrights were kneeling before Grimm.

At their head, an elderly man with a grey beard pressed his forehead hard against the ground, trembling uncontrollably.

"Lord Grimm… we truly cannot repair your vessel! We have never worked on a ship made entirely of iron before… even if you were to kill us right here, there is nothing we can do!"

Inside the workshop behind them, Grimm's ship rested quietly on a massive steel plate. It bore many scars and marks of battle, and from the outside, it still looked reasonably intact.

But two days ago, Grimm had noticed something was wrong — the ship no longer responded properly. Even when he steered with all his strength, it would not hold its course.

Clearly, something deep within the complex machinery had broken down. So upon drifting to this island, he had brought it to the only shipyard available.

The craftsmen here, however, were completely baffled. Their verdict was unanimous: Severe internal damage — impossible to repair.

In the past two days, news of Grimm's dealings with the Vinsmoke Family had dominated every newspaper in the world.

Once these men realized exactly who stood before them, they dropped to their knees in terror, begging not to be punished for something out of their control.

Grimm walked past the kneeling men and entered the workshop, gazing at the Sovereign of the Seas. He realized it had been more than ten years since Tom built this ship for him.

Over all that time, he had pushed it to its absolute limits, over and over again, and never once bothered with proper maintenance. That it had survived ten years of such abuse was nothing short of a miracle.

Damn you, Luke… you promised me top‑grade shipwrights…

"So… what is the final fate of this vessel?" Grimm asked without turning around.

The grey‑bearded foreman scrambled to his feet and hurried over. "I‑if it pleases you… we could try our best to construct a brand‑new ship. As for this old one… because the damage lies in the internal mechanisms, true repairs would require the original technical blueprints. And even if we tried, we have no experience with iron‑hulled ships. It wouldn't last long at sea. So… our recommendation… is to dismantle it for scrap."

Having said that, the old craftsman trembled in fear. He knew exactly who Grimm was — a man who had effortlessly slaughtered royal families of twelve nations and killed millions without hesitation.

Grimm looked at his faithful ship, deep in thought. Then, with a thought, he stored it away into his personal system space.

"Old friend… I couldn't bear to let them tear you apart…"

For a brief moment as the ship vanished, Grimm recalled every voyage they had shared: entering Fish‑Man Island, the legendary sea‑quake during the Battle of Edd War… a lifetime of memories flashed before his eyes like a slide show.

"You may no longer sail… but I will keep you safe."

He spoke softly to himself.

"…Thank you."

A girl's voice suddenly echoed right beside his ear.

Grimm frowned. "Huh?"

He looked around. Everyone nearby were rough, burly workmen. There wasn't a young woman anywhere in sight.

Must be hearing things…

The craftsmen watched in stunned silence as the massive ship disappeared into thin air, too terrified to speak or ask questions.

Still, the grey‑bearded foreman cautiously stepped forward with a nervous smile. "Lord Grimm… perhaps… perhaps you would allow us to build you a new ship?"

Build here? Grimm thought scornfully. I'd rather just steal a Marine or pirate vessel!

No… best to head back to Water 7. They have the finest shipwrights in the world.

Tom is gone, yes… but his apprentices — Iceburg and Franky — are more than capable.

Just then—

BOOM!

The ground shook violently, knocking nearby civilians off their feet.

The old shipwright struggled to stand, clutching his head in pain. "I‑is it… an earthquake?!"

Grimm's eyes sharpened. He turned his gaze toward a small hill nearby, roughly two hundred meters high.

Standing atop it was a creature — a monster whose height nearly matched the hill itself.

Its appearance was bizarre: a pointed head, an unnaturally broad face covered in a thick beard, with a skull so large it made up almost half its total mass.

It wore filthy, ragged clothes; if not for its immense size, it would have looked exactly like a beggar.

Water dripped continuously from its tangled hair and soaked garments — clearly, it had just swum up from the ocean, and that was what caused the ground to shake.

Its silhouette blotted out the sun. Even the user of the Titan Titan Fruit he had encountered before was nowhere near this massive.

But what happened next was even more shocking.

The creature stared fixedly at the forest growing on the hillside.

After ten long seconds, it suddenly opened its jaws wide and bit directly into the cliff face — tearing off a huge chunk of rock, earth, and trees — and began chewing.

"Munch… crunch… gulp…"

It chewed slowly, with an expression of pure bliss, as if eating the most delicious feast in the world… consuming soil, stone, vegetation, and all.

Grimm raised an eyebrow, then smirked. "Is that thing… a pig?"

The old craftsman fell to the ground again — this time not from the quake, but from sheer terror.

"Grrr… nom nom…"

After swallowing the mouthful of hill, the giant turned its attention toward the town.

Amidst the screams of citizens, it reached out, ripped an entire three‑story building from its foundations, and stuffed it whole into its mouth.

"RUN AWAY! EVERYONE RUN!!"

"CALL THE MARINES! SEND FOR HELP NOW!!"

"AAAAHHHH! SAVE US! SOMEBODY HELP!!"

Chaos erupted in the streets — screams, crying, and panic everywhere.

Grimm watched the "giant pig" with interest, an idea forming in his mind.

"Not enough… still not enough…" the giant mumbled in a deep, rumbling voice.

Suddenly, its gaze locked onto the largest structure in the whole town — the shipyard building right next to Grimm.

"When you're hungry… you must eat big meals!"

With a sound like a squealing boar, it reached down to grab the shipyard.
