Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Psychotherapy

Adam watched Altair gently, his clear and deep golden eyes seeming to see through the human soul: "You are still resisting this world. Although you are well aware that the original world is a thing of the past and that you should adapt to the new one, deep down, you refuse to conform. This is a very contradictory psychological issue."

"Is it because I know too much?"

"Because you know too much, you have lost your self-confidence, acting with trepidation at every step, fearing that unexpected problems might arise."

"This also fits the character of people from your Great Food Nation. Because he was ignorant, he treated everything in this world as a game, and only after being fully immersed did he begin to consider it a living world."

"Whereas you, 'born with knowledge,' have always lived with extreme caution."

"I am curious where you obtained this knowledge. Is it because of that 'Ancient Castle'?"

Adam's words made Altair look troubled. Although he knew the Spectator's abilities were perverse, he never expected them to be this 'perverse.' His secrets were being dug up after only a few sentences.

After a moment of silent cursing, he spoke directly to Adam:

"Although I know you Russians speak very directly, I didn't expect you to expose my secrets so bluntly."

Adam smiled directly and said, "Cultural differences lead to different ways of communication; this is normal, just as you were criticizing me in your heart before you spoke."

Altair looked at Adam in shock, never expecting his mind to be read. But 'He' didn't seem angry, saying bluntly: "To be honest, I really thought you were like the rumors—overflowing with divinity and lacking in humanity."

Adam chuckled at Altair and then said, "I don't quite agree with their definition of me. I also possess my own humanity; it's just not necessary to show it."

"Also, if my behavior is inappropriate, you can say it directly; there's no need to complain in your heart. My nationality is different from yours; we like to be straightforward and don't like talking behind people's backs."

This was indeed a fact. The Ancient Sun God who once shielded humanity had fallen; now he was just Adam, with no need to show humanity for irrelevant people.

But the way Adam was acting now could be considered a total explosion of humanity, even explaining the differences in national cultures to him.

Altair then said bluntly:

"It is indeed as you said; my knowledge does come from that 'Ancient Castle.' It is not the castle you know. Er, you should know what I mean."

Adam nodded with a light smile. "I know. Although I haven't had formal contact with it, I can clearly sense the difference between the two."

"Although I have seen many special items over the years, this is the first time I've seen something like this. If I hadn't personally conducted long-term observation, I wouldn't have discovered 'His' existence. Your Beyonder characteristic should also be influenced by him."

Altair looked at him in silence, not wanting to speak, and could only nod.

Adam shook his head and said, "I do not intend to seize 'Him'; my Pathway has long been decided. He has no value to me and would even become a burden. Moreover, you two are already tightly linked and inseparable."

"Would you like to join the Beyonder organization I founded? I don't think I need to introduce the details of this organization too much; you should already know."

"Don't worry, this doesn't require you to pay anything."

"Mm." Altair thought for a moment and accepted readily, deciding to join. After all, this organization was the most mysterious and influential secret organization currently in existence. With the goal of 'driving historical nodes,' it signified that it possessed a large number of 'high-level' members, which meant a wealth of resources.

Adam smiled helplessly: "It's not as exaggerated as you think. We don't have a way to completely decide the direction of reality yet, but the resources for your advancement can certainly be traded."

Regarding His behavior, Altair expressed helplessness, saying, "Can you stop reading my mind all the time? It makes me very embarrassed."

Adam's expression remained the same as usual, not changing because of these words. Instead, he explained: "I didn't use an ability; I just deduced the result through observation and guessing. You have also taken the Spectator potion; you should know that this has become a sort of instinct."

"Within the Twilight Hermit Order, there are still some members of the Augustus Family. If you don't want to expose your identity, I suggest you don't use your real name to participate."

Altair nodded to show he understood, but still asked curiously, "Didn't you say today was just a simple meeting? Why are you inviting me to join the Twilight Hermit Order again?"

Adam nodded and said, "When you were pushing the development of weapons, someone proposed inviting you to join. It was only because of the names of the weapons that I temporarily suppressed it."

"So inviting you to join was not my decision, but theirs."

Altair asked in return, "Why are you willing to talk to me about these things?"

Adam thought for a moment and smiled, "Consider it providing whatever help I can to a contemporary."

Altair clicked his tongue helplessly at this explanation. After thinking, he said, "Then as a senior, shouldn't you give some benefits? For example, let me see the Blasphemy Slate, or give me the Empress Card."

To Altair's suggestion, Adam shook his head directly and said, "What you want to obtain should be the High Priestess Card. The Card of Blasphemy corresponding to the Demoness Pathway is the High Priestess, not the Empress."

"Roselle created the Cards of Blasphemy based on the triple setting of 'Pathway Essence + Tarot Symbolism + Corruption Narrative.'"

"Furthermore, even if you wanted it, I couldn't give it to you; it's not with me."

"As for the Blasphemy Slate, if you wish, I can bring it for you to see during the gathering."

Altair thought for a moment and then shook his head directly, refusing: "I was just saying. If I really need to see it, I'll ask you for it."

"Aren't you curious about my origins? After all, the people of that era have all been captured, and now everyone is still hanging there like 'dried meat.'"

Adam smiled and shook his head, saying, "I am not curious. If you truly wish to speak of it, I am more than willing to listen. If you don't want to, it doesn't matter; I don't want to ask too much. And even if I asked you now, I wouldn't get the correct answer, and it would only make things difficult for you; such a result is meaningless."

"Fine then." Altair nodded. Regarding the matter of his origins, he still didn't want to talk about it. Instead, he said, "Then thank you for not asking."

As he chatted with Adam, Altair felt his heart gradually begin to relax and his true nature start to be liberated.

Seeing his change, Adam also said with a smile, "In the future, if you have any unpleasant feelings, you can vent them directly. After all, in the eyes of others, you are just a 'child,' but please integrate into this world as soon as possible; it will benefit your physical and mental health."

"At 8 o'clock tonight, remember to go to sleep early."

"I know." As he spoke, Altair looked up, and the space in front of him was already empty. If not for the existence of this memory, he would have thought he had just had a dream. This King of Angels really comes and goes as He pleases.

But was his purpose really just to meet? Why do I feel like I just underwent a session of psychotherapy from him?
