Mila shot up from the bed, her heart pounding violently against her chest. Her eyes darted toward the door instinctively before returning to Faith.
"How did you get in?" she asked in a hushed tone as if afraid anyone would hear her. "There are guards outside. They didn't stop you?"
"They tried," Faith replied casually. "But I got rid of them."
Mila blinked, stunned. "Got rid of them? How?"
A faint, almost amused smile curved on Faith's lips. She had sprayed pepper spray on them at first. When they were struggling, she had injected a sedative into them.
Faith tilted her head slightly. "Do you want to stand here and hear the full story," she asked, "or do you want to escape?"
That snapped Mila out of it. Her pulse spiked.
Dominic could return at any moment.
"I want to leave," she said immediately. "Let's get out of here first."
Faith's tone turned brisk. "I'm not going anywhere. You are leaving. Alone."
Mila frowned. "What about you?"
