Mila felt as though her world had been turned upside down. Terror gripped her so tightly that she could barely breathe.
"Please... don't hurt him."
She stretched out a trembling hand, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face.
Her baby's desperate cries tore at her heart.
"I-I'll go with you," she pleaded. "Please... give him back."
Max let out a low laugh. He glanced down at the crying infant in his arms before looking back at her.
"He'll be perfectly safe," he said calmly, "as long as you do exactly what I tell you."
Mila nodded frantically. "I'll do anything. Just don't hurt him."
The smile disappeared from Max's face. Without warning, he pulled a pistol from his waistband and aimed it at her.
Mila froze. Every muscle in her body locked with fear.
"Move." His voice was cold and commanding.
She slowly turned around and walked out of the bedroom, not daring to disobey.
When the housekeeper saw this, she shrieked in fear.
"Get out," Max shouted.
