"This..."

"Let the two of you name it!"

"Yes, yes! The name has to be decided by Kaito-sama and Rimuru-sama!"

Everyone on the sofa agreed without hesitation that Kaito and Rimuru should be the ones to name the country.

"Kai-chan! Why don't you name it? I don't think I'm very good at naming things!"

When Kaito heard that, his expression went a little strange. 'You, not good at naming things? You named hundreds of thousands of monsters without batting an eye, and now you're telling me this?'

"Cough, cough! Since Rimuru has said so, I'll go ahead and suggest something. Tell me what you think."

"Hmm, how about the Jura-Tempest Federation? Abbreviated as Tempest!"

The moment Kaito said it, everyone's eyes lit up and they spoke in unison.

"That's the one!"

"As expected of Kaito-sama, a name that gets everyone's unanimous approval just like that!"

"Of course! The big bad guy is unreliable sometimes, but he's never wrong on things that actually matter!"

Kochou Shinobu, sitting on the other side of Kanae, said it with a proud expression.

"Well, well! The sun must have risen from the west today, for you of all people to actually praise me!"

Kaito looked at her with a teasing grin.

Shinobu's face flushed, and she shot back, bracing herself.

"I, I only said it because the name really was good! Don't misunderstand!"

"Hahahaha!"

"Shinobu is so cute!"

Shinobu looked around at everyone laughing, then quickly buried her face in Kanae's arms like an ostrich.

"Alright, stop laughing, all of you. If you keep it up, this girl might charge you double next time you visit the barbecue restaurant!"

"Hahahaha!"

After the laughter finally died down, Kaito continued.

"Now that the country's name is settled, we need to decide on a ruler!"

"Yes, that's definitely next!"

"As for who it should be..."

Every eye in the room drifted over to Rimuru, who was happily eating pudding with her eyes half-closed.

Noticing the stares, she quickly put down her spoon and asked.

"Um, you don't mean I have to be the ruler too, do you? Kai-chan should be the one, right!"

Kaito said calmly.

"I need to travel to different worlds sometimes, so I can't always be here to keep an eye on things."

"Besides, you're always free anyway, so you're honestly the perfect fit!"

Rimuru's face crumpled.

"How is that fair? You are always free too! ╥﹏╥"

"That's beside the point. So, it's decided! No objections, right?"

Kaito turned to the room, and everyone very obligingly voiced their agreement.

Seeing that the decision was unanimous, Rimuru had no choice but to accept it.

But then something seemed to click in her head. A flicker of slyness crossed her face. She cleared her throat.

"Cough, cough. If that's the case, then I'm the ruler now, aren't I?"

"That's right, Rimuru is already the ruler!"

Shizu looked at her with a gentle smile and said softly.

"Mm-hm! Rimuru-sama is the ruler!"

Shion jumped to her feet and shouted it with great enthusiasm.

"Shion, you're too loud!"

Shuna reached over and gently tugged on her sleeve.

"Then I issue my first royal decree. From this moment on, Kai-chan will serve as Regent of the nation, with full authority over all national affairs!"

The moment the words left her mouth, the others barely had time to react before Kaito shot to his feet, pointing at her with an outraged expression.

"That's low, Rimuru! How could you do this to our Idle Duo? Are you betraying the organization?! ヽ(#`Д´)ノ"

Rimuru stood up too and jabbed a finger right back at him.

"You betrayed it first! If you won't let me have an easy life, then nobody gets one! Hmph!"

"You scoundrel, I'm kicking you out of the organization!"

"Hmph, if you kick me out, there won't be anyone left in this organization."

"I don't care!"

Everyone watched the two of them bicker back and forth with completely unchanged expressions. It was hardly the first or second time this had happened, and nobody was even slightly surprised anymore.

Taking advantage of the lull between rounds of accusations, Shizu turned to Sakuya Izayoi and asked:

"Miss Sakuya, could I trouble you for another cup of black tea?"

Sakuya gave a small bow, took the teacup from her, and said:

"Of course, Shizu. Please wait a moment!"

A full ten minutes passed before Kaito and Rimuru, worn out from arguing, both sank back onto the sofa at the same time, breathing hard. Sakuya appeared at precisely the right moment with fresh cups of black tea.

"Slurp..."

Kaito took a sip, looked around the room with a smile, and said:

"Right, let's carry on. I'll take on the role of Regent for now. Benimaru!"

Benimaru snapped to attention at the sound of his name.

"Kaito-sama!"

"Sit down and talk."

Benimaru sat back down.

"How many troops do we have right now, including the forces that were conscripted temporarily?"

"The Garrison still stands at ten thousand. Most of the conscripted troops have been discharged, and only ten thousand of them remain."

Kaito nodded, then continued.

"Now that we're founding a nation, we can't keep calling it the Garrison. It needs to be properly organized."

"You're right, 'Garrison' sounds like something a small village would have!"

Rimuru nodded in agreement.

"So then, Kaito-sama, how do you plan to reorganize the troops?"

Benimaru looked at him with a focused expression.

Kaito thought it over for a moment.

"I'm planning to divide the entire force into three legions, the First through the Third, each with fifteen thousand soldiers."

"Each legion will be broken down further into three divisions of five thousand each."

"On top of that, we'll establish an Imperial Guard Corps of five thousand, responsible specifically for protecting Rimuru and the city."

"Fifty thousand total should be enough to handle most situations."

Kagaya, Benimaru, and the others all fell into thought. Fielding an army of fifty thousand was no small burden for the Jura-Tempest Federation, which currently had just over five hundred thousand adults in total.

Kagaya spoke up carefully.

"Kaito-sama, if we raise a fifty-thousand-strong army, it may pull too many people away from the workforce and slow down construction. Would it be possible to bring that number down a little?"

Kaito smiled in a way that said he already had an answer.

"Don't worry, Kagaya. I've got it covered."

He glanced over at the [Space Compression Technique] and the Capsule Corp technology listed in his system panel.
