"Kai-chan! Mmm... someone wants to see... mmm... you. Do you want to meet him?"

Milim spoke indistinctly, her cheeks full of cake.

"See me? Who is it?"

Kaito kept his eyes on the manga he was reading and asked without looking up.

"Guy! He's a Demon Lord too!"

At that, Kaito immediately looked up.

"Guy? The Primordial Red?"

"Eh!!! Kai-chan, do you know him?"

Milim stared at Kaito, surprised that he had identified Guy so easily.

"I don't know him personally, but I know of him. Why does he suddenly want to see me?"

Kaito was genuinely puzzled. He had never interacted with Guy Crimson in any way.

He had no intention of destroying the world either, so logically Guy should have had no reason to notice him.

It was not that Kaito feared Guy. He simply found the whole thing strange.

"Hehe! I told him about you, actually! He's very interested in your ability to travel between worlds, so he asked me to bring you an invitation!"

Milim declared this proudly and at full volume.

"Huh? You told him? You actually sold me out!"

Kaito put the pieces together immediately. As the World Mediator, Guy's purpose was to prevent humanity from destroying itself through its own conflicts, while also formulating response strategies against outside threats and changes.

The moment Milim, the world's biggest gossip, had gone and told Guy about someone like Kaito, a risk assessment was inevitable.

"Eh!!! Was I not supposed to tell Guy?"

"What do you think!"

"...Forget it. Since he already knows, I'll go and meet him. It's a good chance to talk things over anyway."

Kaito decided not to dwell on it. The deed was done, and he was not afraid. At worst they would just have a fight.

He pulled up his system panel.

'Stop! Stop! I know what you're going to say. Something about being crushed to death, right? You've said it plenty of times already!'

[And yet you still...]

'That's a two-dimensional power system! Of course I'd get crushed to death if you compare me to the Primordial Era!'

'...'

"Milim, how is he planning to meet me? Am I going to him?"

"Hehe! Of course not! He comes to you!"

No sooner had Kaito finished asking than a magic circle appeared in front of him.

When it faded, standing before him was none other than the red-haired Guy Crimson himself.

'[Eye of Identification]!'

'As expected of the strongest in the world right now. SS+ in his normal state, and SSS- at full power.'

'It is a good thing I reached this stage when I did. With just Nascent Soul cultivation, I might not have been able to hold my ground against him.'

"Hahaha! May I ask what brings Guy to see me?"

Kaito's thoughts were running at full speed, but his expression stayed perfectly calm.

"Kaito, Milim tells me you can freely travel between different worlds. Is that true?"

Guy settled onto the sofa as if he owned the place, a relaxed smile on his face.

"Didn't Milim already tell you?"

Kaito asked with a puzzled look.

"Hehe! You know what Milim is like. I usually only believe half of what she says."

The moment those words landed, Milim bristled.

"Guy, you don't believe me?! And here I was, telling you about something as fun as travelling to other worlds! I'm done with you!"

Watching Milim launch into a full sulk, both Guy and Kaito shook their heads.

"You understand now, right, Kaito."

"I understand."

Milim, hearing that, turned it up another notch and flung herself dramatically onto the carpet.

The two of them wordlessly chose to ignore her.

"Alright, back to the actual matter. Yes, I can travel between worlds. Is there a problem?"

Kaito's expression settled into something more serious as he asked.

"Just one question."

"Go ahead."

"What do you think of this world?"

Kaito blinked. He had not expected that question at all.

After a moment of thought, he answered.

"This world is beautiful, and I love it. If anyone tries to destroy it, I will personally deal with them."

"Including me?"

Guy's expression was serious now too.

"That's right. Including you. But I don't think you actually want to destroy the world, do you? World Mediator."

Hearing Kaito use his title, Guy showed no surprise.

At their respective levels, these things were not really secrets.

What Guy did not know was that Kaito's knowledge of his identity had nothing to do with his own strength. It was simply a memory from another life.

"Is that so. Then I can rest easy."

Guy let out a slow breath.

Because he could feel it clearly. If it ever came to a real fight between them, he might not last three exchanges.

He had no idea what kind of existence this person was. He suspected that even a resurrected Veldanava might struggle against him.

"You came all this way just to ask me that one question?"

Kaito did not believe for a second that was the whole reason.

"Hahaha! My main purpose was to confirm whether you posed a threat to this world."

"It seems I was overthinking it. So, let's move on to the next matter."

Guy laughed openly and turned the conversation.

"I knew there was more. Go ahead."

Kaito's expression said he had seen this coming from the start.

"It's nothing too dramatic. I was simply wondering whether you might be interested in the title of World Mediator."

"What!!! World Mediator?"

Kaito stared at him.

World Mediator. In other words, World Administrator.

From what Guy was saying, it sounded like he wanted to pass the title on to him. There was absolutely no way Kaito was accepting that.

"You want me to work for a living! Not interested! Not even slightly interested!!!"

"Whoever wants that miserable job can have it. World Mediator? Not even a dog would take that!"
