"No. 2, long time no see..."
Looking at the battered Android before her, White greeted her with complex emotions. Although she had known A2 was by the Human Lord's side, she hadn't expected their meeting to come so soon.
"..."
A2 didn't want to speak; the Commander's recent actions had completely shattered the image of the Commander she held in her mind.
Was this the kind of person she had hated back then? She felt like she was lowering her own standards.
Seeing A2's continued cold attitude toward her, White sighed; past sorrows were indeed not so easily erased.
"May I ask where the Human Lord is? I have come for an audience."
Despite her irreconcilable conflict with A2, White believed that when it came to matters of great importance, the other would still be able to tell right from wrong.
The importance of humanity was enough for them Androids to set everything aside; no matter how deep the emotion, it would be suppressed by the two characters for 'Human'.
"The Lord is currently speaking with Leader Anemone. You'll have to wait for a bit."
Even though she had let go of most of her hatred, A2 still had no good feelings toward the Commander, so she responded quite bluntly.
Hearing this, the Commander sighed. Had she known, she would have walked down slowly; she had wanted to see the human quickly, but hadn't expected to have to wait.
However, this was a good time to observe the Resistance Army Camp. She had usually only seen it roughly through communications and hadn't seen it with her own eyes yet.
After a brief look around, White lamented slightly. This was much better than in her day; although it was still very dilapidated, it was fully equipped and finally looked like a regular army.
However, a white figure caught her eye. It was Adam, who was communicating with the Resistance Army members, exploring the meaning of existence.
Because he had hidden his identity, the Resistance Army members only took him for an Android companion with a special body.
"!!"
But as the Commander, White recognized him at a glance, though the guards behind her didn't react. Adam's existence was a secret even within YoRHa; except for those who had seen him, few knew of the existence of this humanoid Machine Lifeform.
White looked in shock at Adam walking so openly in the camp. She looked somewhat flustered at the unresponsive A2, and then at the surrounding Resistance Army members who seemed accustomed to it.
But before she could take her next move, A2 stepped forward helplessly and slapped the system-confused Commander awake, saying, "No need to look. I know his identity, and so does the Lord. That Adam has already chosen to follow the Lord."
"This... as expected of a human."
White opened her mouth, and in the end, her words turned into this single exclamation.
*Click~*
The sound of a lock opening rang out. Anemone's figure appeared first, followed by a human figure walking out.
The moment she saw that human figure behind her, White's core reactor roared instantly. Her system flashed countless jumping characters in a second. That uncontrollable emotion, that unspeakable feeling—without a doubt, that was a human!
White took a deep breath to suppress her surging emotions. Her current status was Commander; she couldn't lose her composure and let the human look down on their YoRHa Unit.
However, listening to the gradually heavy breathing of the guards behind her, the Commander decided to give up. Forget it, as long as her own image was maintained.
"Lord, I am White, the Commander of the Bunker. May Glory be to Mankind!"
Since she was here representing the YoRHa Unit, White used the YoRHa military salute, which was the left hand placed over the heart.
The Human Army's salute was the right hand over the heart; this difference also made clear the distinction between the YoRHa Unit and regular units.
"I don't need to introduce myself, do I? You should all know my identity by now," Xia Yu said casually as he walked over.
"Yes, Lord. We have never doubted your identity," White suppressed the excitement in her heart and held back the thought of asking for a private conversation.
The human had just finished talking with the Resistance Army leader and must be tired. She couldn't force the human to talk to her just for her own sake.
However, Xia Yu didn't think that much. Looking at the Commander who had come down from the Bunker, he only had one thought in his mind.
The scale of her chest was much larger than in the game. If the other female YoRHa Units were just erotic, then the Commander's body was a sin; she stood out like a crane among chickens.
Forcing his wandering eyes under control, Xia Yu coughed and said, "Didn't you want to see me? Then let's not waste time."
With that, Xia Yu returned to the private room used for communication. Seeing this, White stepped inside under the envious gazes of her guards.
After entering the room, because the ensuing conversation would be quite confidential, the two stood quite close.
Looking at the human before her, White took a deep breath to steady her mind before speaking.
"Lord, may I extract some of your genetic samples?" After saying this, as if afraid Xia Yu might have some misunderstanding, she hurriedly added, "Forgive me, Lord. I do not doubt your human identity; I only wish to complete the human genetic map stored at the Moon Base."
At this point, White's entire demeanor became despondent, and her tone carried deep self-reproach.
"We... as creations of humanity, have lost our creators forever. Even though the creators arranged everything, we've messed it all up."
"We failed to successfully resurrect humanity, and even the human genetic map is partially incomplete. Clearly our duty is to protect humanity, to protect our creators, but now we can't even defend Earth."
"We can't do anything."
Looking at the Commander who was almost on the verge of tears, Xia Yu smiled gently, then opened his arms and pulled the Commander into a hug.
"It's been hard, hasn't it? You've all worked so hard all this time."
Hearing the whisper in her ear and feeling the body heat originating from a creator, White could no longer control her emotions. Tears burst forth instantly, and she lowered her head against Xia Yu's shoulder, sobbing quietly.
Xia Yu patted White's back while whispering words of comfort. After a long time, the sobbing gradually stopped.
White raised her head, and Xia Yu took the opportunity to reach out and wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.
Feeling Xia Yu's warm palm rubbing against her face, White almost broke down in tears again, but coolant was limited; if she cried any more, there would be none left.
Looking at the water stains on the Human Lord's clothes, White said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Lord. I just..."
"No need to apologize," Xia Yu patted White's head and said tenderly, "Sometimes an occasional venting makes it easier for the mind to calm down, especially since you're carrying such great pressure."
"If you can't bear it alone, I'm always here. My arms are always open for you."
As soon as he spoke, it was clear he was a real old scumbag.
But it just so happened that the Androids really fell for this. Under White's beauty filter, the current Xia Yu seemed like a saint.
