Maya's POV
The war horns blasted at dawn.
Twenty thousand soldiers from the Northern Kingdom marched into downtown ruins. Another twenty thousand from the Eastern Kingdom emerged from the opposite direction. The battlefield was a maze of collapsed buildings, cracked streets, and environmental hazards the system was spawning deliberately to make things interesting.
There was nowhere to hide. Nowhere to retreat. Just two armies about to destroy each other.
Maya was in the tactical tower with Marcus beside her. They could see everything on the screens. Every soldier. Every movement. Every decision being made in real-time.
Elias's army hit first.
They came in formation. Organized. Disciplined. Nothing like the fear-based tactics Kaden usually employed. Elias's soldiers believed in his vision. They fought because they wanted to, not because they were terrified of death.
That made them more dangerous.
The first clash was brutal.
