Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Azurebay Gym

The waves crashed harder against the shore.

As if responding. gates of the Azurebay Gym opened slowly.

A deep echo of water filled the arena.

Floating platforms drifted across a massive pool, rising and falling with artificial tides.

This wasn't just a battlefield.

It was the ocean itself.

Elior stepped forward, eyes sharp.

At the far end stood Nerion.

Calm.

Unmoving.

Like the deep sea.

"If you cannot adapt…" Nerion said quietly,

"you will be swallowed."

Elior smirked.

"Then I'll break through."

Battle Start — 3 vs 3

"Begin."

"Go, Tidereef."

A sleek water Pokémon emerged, gliding across the surface effortlessly.

"Riolu, let's go!"

Riolu jumped onto a shifting platform.

Round 1 — Speed vs Instinct

"Tidereef, Aqua Jet!"

It vanished.

BAM!

Riolu barely reacted in time, taking a direct hit.

Elior narrowed his eyes.

"Don't panic—watch its movement!"

Riolu steadied itself.

"Aura Sphere!"

The attack fired—

But Tidereef dodged using the moving platforms.

It struck again.

And again.

Riolu struggled to keep balance.

But this time—

It didn't fall.

It endured.

Elior clenched his fist.

"…It's too fast."

One final Aqua Jet—

Riolu was sent sliding across the platform.

It collapsed.

"…Riolu is unable to battle."

Elior looked down.

"…Return."

"Go, Thundrion!"

Electricity exploded across the arena.

For the first time—

Nerion's gaze sharpened.

"Tidereef, don't slow down."

"Thundrion—track it… Thunder Fang!"

A flash of lightning cut through the battlefield.

Direct hit.

Tidereef fell instantly.

"…Tidereef is unable to battle."

Elior regained confidence.

"That's how we fight."

Nerion raised his next Pokéball.

"…Deepcoil."

A massive serpent rose from the water.

The tides shifted.

Water levels increased.

Platforms became unstable.

"Deepcoil—Whirlpool."

A vortex formed instantly—

Trapping Thundrion.

"Break it!"

Electricity surged—

But weakened in the water.

Deepcoil struck from below.

A heavy hit.

Another.

Thundrion tried to escape—

But the current held it in place.

With a final blow—

Thundrion collapsed.

"…Thundrion is unable to battle."

Silence.

Only one Pokémon remained.

Elior took a deep breath.

"Infernyx… let's go."

Flames erupted as Infernyx entered the battlefield.

Steam filled the arena instantly.

"Flame Charge!"

Infernyx dashed forward, pushing through the rising water.

Deepcoil countered—

But Infernyx overwhelmed it with raw power.

A final strike—

Deepcoil fell.

"…Deepcoil is unable to battle."

The Ocean Reveals Itself

For a moment—

Everything went silent.

Elior smiled slightly.

"We can win this."

But Nerion didn't move.

He simply raised his final Pokéball.

For the first time—

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"…Now you face the ocean."

He threw the Pokéball.

"Rise… Leviadon."

The water exploded upward.

A massive shadow emerged.

The entire arena trembled.

Waves surged violently.

A roar echoed like thunder across the sea.

Elior's eyes widened.

"…What… is that…?"

From the depths—

A colossal Pokémon rose.

Leviadon.

Its presence alone crushed the atmosphere.

Infernyx's flames flickered.

Even the battlefield felt smaller.

Nerion's voice echoed calmly:

"This… is the true tide."

And the journey continues....
