Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: Fate and Faith

The Wall of Legends

The chamber stood silent.

Ancient.

Timeless.

At the center of the

Aeralis Ruins—

The massive wall glowed faintly.

Carved into it—

Two figures.

Opposing.

Yet connected.

Ignis

Vernix

Elior stepped closer.

"…These Pokémon…"

His voice lowered.

"…they feel different."

Beside him—

Lunashade reacted again.

Not violently.

But… deeply.

Dr. Vael adjusted his glasses.

His expression serious now.

No curiosity.

Only certainty.

"…Of course they do."

A pause.

"Because they are not just legends."

He raised his hand toward the carvings.

"They are the foundation of this region's existence."

Elior's eyes narrowed.

"…What do you mean?"

Dr. Vael pointed toward the blazing figure—

"Ignis…"

His voice echoed softly.

"…the embodiment of Fate."

"It represents inevitability."

"The path that cannot be changed."

"The end that awaits all things."

The carving seemed to glow brighter.

As if reacting.

Elior whispered:

"…So it controls destiny?"

Dr. Vael shook his head slightly.

"Not control…"

A pause.

"…enforcement."

Then—

He turned to the other figure—

"And this…"

"…is Vernix."

"The embodiment of Faith."

"The power to believe beyond logic."

"The force that defies destiny itself."

The air shifted slightly.

Lighter.

Warmer.

Elior's eyes widened.

"…So it can change fate?"

Dr. Vael nodded slowly.

"…Exactly."

Elior looked between the two carvings.

"…They're opposites…"

"Yes."

Dr. Vael replied.

"But also balance."

"Fate pushes forward."

"Faith pushes back."

"And the world exists…"

A pause.

"…between them."

Elior's gaze shifted to—

Lunashade

"…Then what about this…?"

Dr. Vael's expression darkened slightly.

"…That…"

A pause.

"…is neither."

"Abyssal Sovereign…"

His voice lowered.

"…is what happens when balance breaks."

"When fate is rejected…"

"And faith collapses…"

"…the abyss is born."

Elior clenched his fist.

"…So Lunashade…"

"…is connected to that collapse."

Dr. Vael finished.

Silence filled the chamber.

Heavy.

Unavoidable.

"…Then Team Umber…"

Elior whispered.

"…they're after this power."

Dr. Vael didn't deny it.

"Not just after it…"

A pause.

"…they want to control it."

Elior looked back at the wall.

Between Ignis and Vernix—

The crack.

The empty space.

"…Something's missing."

Dr. Vael stepped closer.

"…Yes."

His voice turned serious.

"And that missing piece…"

A pause.

"…might be the key to everything."

The chamber trembled slightly.

Not violently.

But enough to be noticed.

Lunashade's aura flickered again.

Stronger.

Resonating with the carvings.

The crack between

Ignis

Vernix

began to glow faintly—

Dark energy leaking from within.

As if something…

Was sealed inside.

And the journey continues....
