Chapter 25 - There is no cost....That is too great.

(Why me?? What does all of this has to do with me?? Because I'm the author??)

"My lord, you need to grip your thoughts. Right now we have to gather people to help you destroy the churches."

"I agree, Ethan. But, I don't get it. What was that message, from the system?"

John tells Ethan about the message that popped up from system after he chose to stay in bloodied Rimora.

"I…really don't have any idea, My lord."

"Yeah…me too."

"But…I can tell you one thing, that I learned living in this world."

"Huh? And what could that be??"

"My lord, there is no cost…that is too great."

"And….what's that supposed to mean??"

"Your objectives are greater than your sacrifices. They will always be."

"Hm…"

"Sometimes, to complete your objective…you must lose yourself."

"…"

"Consequence is just a burden coated word for result. So, My lord…Your actions will always have consequences. It only depends on you."

"You are right, Ethan. I appreciate your help."

"Thank you, My lord."

John sits near the lake. Swans drinking water. The shiny water looked like the only hope in this world.

The green grass made John's mind to think straight.

John lies down on ground.

"So I need to expand my guild huh??"

(Wait…)

"Hey Ethan??"

"Yes, My lord??"

"Will you join my guild?? As a member. Not as my army."

"My lord…I'm destined to be your servant. A part of your army. I can't work beside you."

"It is alright, Ethan. You are not just a servant or part of my army. You are my friend."

Ethan summons himself and kneels instantly.

"It will be my honor, My lord."

"It is alright, get up."

"From this day on, its my word, Ill serve you till eternity."

"I trust you."

John smiles proudly.

Back at the village, John sees Angela teaching other goblins how to use healing magic properly.

John heads into his room.

He opens a chart and uses a pen to write something.

"This should do it!"

"That's great, My lord."

John wrote his guild's name and names of the members in his guild.

"Church's Guild! Its perfect!"

"NO!"

"Why???"

"No means No!"

"Please, Angela!"

Angela sees John's almost real tears and hopeful eyes.

"Please??"

"Uh-"

"Please?!"

"Ugh…Fine! Mind telling me why the 'Church's Guild' ??"

"Because that is one of our objectives."

"I don't get a single thing you say! And who is this Ethan guy??"

John summons itself kneeling to his master.

"I am the servant of My lord."

"Eek! Where did he come from!?!"

John explains her the situation and about his Goblin Overlord skill.

"Oh! So not only you are the God but also their owner??"

"I'm not owner of everyone present here. Just Ethan."

They discuss about the situation over the afternoon.

"So you want to meet the commanders here!?! Are you out of your mind?!?"

"Well…this is the only solution I could come up with!"

"You are not going to them. End of the Story!"

John leaves the room and heads to the lake again.

"Hey stop!"

John doesn't listen and leaves.

The night falls.

He is still sitting near the lake.

"Why doesn't she understand?? Why??"

*sigh*

"What should I do!?"

System pops up.

[You must visit the six commanders to complete your objective.]

"Yeah….I must meet them!"

"My lord??"

Ethan gets suspicious of the message.

(Six commanders?)

John, without any hesitation, rushes towards the village.

He gets an idea. An idea without a thought to it.

He reaches the village and enters the soldier's room.

"Hey….I need your help!"

He tells the soldier about the commanders.

"And I want you to come with me and assist me to their location!"

"Alright…my lord. You can trust me with this."

(I wonder if I had the Eyes of Truth, would the outcome be same??)

"And don't tell Angela about this, alright??"

"Yes, My liege."

(I hope this is the right action Ethan was talking about.)

The night falls.

The sun rises.

Early in the morning, John and soldier with some goblins left the village. On horses. The old train that connected cities didn't allow anyone other than humans.

The soldier told the village that they were leaving for a dragon hunting in a dungeon for some supplies and will be back in a few days.

Angela was still asleep.

The bird chirping.

Winds taking heavy turns.

The swans moving across the lake.

John looks back at the village.

(I will be back, Angela! I will take you with me. To Daniel!)
