"Who are you? What do you want?" Iliana demanded, her voice steady despite the fear coursing through her. The figure advanced, and adrenaline kicked in. She had to escape, to find safety before it was too late.
Iliana fell to the ground but quickly regained her footing, adrenaline surging through her veins. Without hesitation, she launched a powerful punch to the man's stomach, catching him off guard. As he doubled over in pain, she followed up with a swift kick to his front, creating just enough space to make a run for it.
But before she could escape, he grabbed her wrist, his grip like iron, and raised the knife, ready to strike. Just then, Jungkook burst into the scene, rushing forward with determination. He seized the man's hand, preventing the blade from reaching Iliana.
"Let her go!" Jungkook shouted, his voice filled with urgency and strength. The struggle intensified as Jungkook fought to free Iliana from the man's grip, their fates intertwined in this moment of chaos.
"Leave my green chameleon!" Jungkook shouted, his voice filled with urgency as he tightened his grip on the man's wrist, delivering blow after blow with a mix of anger and desperation. "How dare you touch her!"
"STOP IT! JUST STOP, JEON " Iliana cried out, her eyes wide with fear and concern for him. But in a sudden, brutal moment, the man shoved her to the ground, her head striking the floor with a sickening thud, and she immediately went limp.
The man fled, disappearing into the chaos, and Jungkook felt a surge of frustration. "Shoot, damn it! I was about to catch him!" Panic surged through him as he looked down at Iliana, his heart racing. "What do I do now?"
His mind raced with thoughts. "How am I supposed to get her to the hospital without touching her? This is an emergency, and if she finds out I was the one who brought her, she'll definitely murder me." He ruffled his hair in frustration, feeling the weight of the situation. Gently, he lifted Iliana into his arms, feeling her warmth against him. "Your scent... it's making me weak. Even though you don't wear perfume, it still lingers. And wow, you're so light."
He hurriedly placed her in the car, his hands trembling slightly as he drove as fast as he could to the hospital. Each second felt like an eternity. When he arrived, a nurse approached him, her expression a mix of concern and professionalism. "Who are you, sir? What's your relationship with the patient?"
"I'm... a friend," he replied, trying to keep his voice steady despite the chaos in his mind.
"And please call for a female doctor, no males, okay?" Jungkook insisted, his protective instincts kicking in. The nurse nodded, understanding the urgency, and rushed to fetch the doctor.
After what felt like an eternity of waiting, the doctor finally appeared, motioning for him to step outside. Jungkook's heart raced as he paced back and forth, anxiety gnawing at him.
Finally, the doctor called him back in. "You can come in now, sir." She noticed the tension radiating from him, and her tone softened. "Don't worry; she's completely fine. I've done a thorough check-up. She fainted due to a slight bump on her head, but she's okay."
Relief washed over him, but the worry still lingered in his heart. He couldn't shake the image of her lying there, vulnerable and unconscious. As he stepped closer to Iliana, he knew he would do anything to protect her from harm, no matter the cost.
"You can take the patient home after she wakes up," the doctor said, stepping out of the room.
"Thank god," Jungkook whispered to himself, but then he felt a wave of confusion wash over him. "Thank who? What the heck?" Frustration bubbled up inside him as he closed his eyes, trying to push away the chaotic thoughts. Meanwhile, Iliana lay there, still unconscious.
After what felt like an eternity, she finally began to stir. "My head... it hurts," she murmured, gingerly holding her head with her hand and slowly blinking her eyes open.
"Archaeopteryx is here," Jungkook said, a small smile breaking through his worry as he tried to keep the mood light.
"Hey, green chameleon... why were you making those weird faces while you were sleeping? So annoying," Iliana shot back, raising an eyebrow. Jungkook chuckled to himself; it was classic Iliana, never one to let things slide. While she took a brief rest on the bed, Jungkook couldn't resist the urge to tease her, determined to get a reaction out of her.
"Come on, let's get going! We need to figure out who tried to hurt you out," Jungkook exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over. Iliana nodded, and they headed toward the car. As Jungkook glanced at her abaya, still stained with coffee from that morning, a thought sparked in his mind. "What if I got her a new one? The same style? Tomorrow morning," he pondered, hoping it would brighten her spirits and show her how much he cared.
Iliana pointed out the directions to her home, and Jungkook made sure to memorize each turn with great care. "I'll come to meet you... if I feel like it," he teased, trying to keep things playful. When they finally arrived, Iliana walked up to the window, ready to open it, but Jungkook quickly hopped out of the car.
"Come on, green chameleon," he said, holding the window open for her. A little smile appeared on Iliana's face, and for a moment, the air felt lighter between them.
"By the way, who told you I was at the office?" she asked, twisting the doorknob and glancing back at him.
"Ms. Asma," Jungkook replied casually, and Iliana nodded, stepping inside her home.
Later that night, around 11 PM, Jungkook returned home, where his mother was anxiously waiting, and his father wore a worried expression.
"Where have you been, Jungkook?" his mother asked, gripping his shoulder tightly, her voice a mix of concern and relief.
"Chill out, Eomma. I'm freaking fine," he said with a playful smirk, trying to ease her worries.
"Hush! Don't cuss; your father is right here," she scolded lightly, a hint of a smile creeping onto her face.
Jungkook chuckled and moved toward his room. "I'm really okay, Eomma, Appa. I just had some important work to finish up."
