Chapter 17 - Chapter XVI (Part II)

After the sky literally cracked and everyone saw the heavens react to Eryndor, the sect basically freaked out. No one could ignore it anymore. This wasn't just some weird power spike — this was cosmic-level stuff. So the elders call an emergency meeting, and the vibe is tense as hell. People aren't whispering anymore. They're straight-up scared.

Eryndor gets summoned into the main hall like he's already on trial. The elders don't yell, but you can tell they're shook. They're not sure if he's a victim or a walking disaster, but either way, they don't want to risk the whole sect getting wiped out. So they decide to seal his cultivation. Not kill him — but basically bench him. Cage the power. Lock it down.

Mei Lin isn't having it. She defends him hard. She reminds everyone that he chose to resist the voice from the sky. He didn't accept the throne. He didn't give in. But the elders don't care about intentions — they care about survival. And from their point of view? Eryndor is a ticking time bomb.

Here's the crazy part: he doesn't fight back.

And he totally could.

He knows if he resists, the power inside him would wreck the sealing formation in seconds. But if he did that? That's it. Game over. He becomes exactly what everyone fears — the villain.

So he lets them seal him.

The spiritual chains wrap around him, suppressing his power. His aura fades. For the first time since his rebirth, he feels… normal. Smaller. Almost human again. And honestly? That part kind of hurts the most.

But deep down, something shifts.

The power inside him doesn't rage.

It adapts.

It gets quiet. Focused. Patient.

And when he's alone later, he notices a tiny crack forming in the seal.

Just a hairline fracture.

Nothing dramatic.

But enough to say one thing loud and clear:

You can't lock up destiny forever.

Meanwhile, the heavens are still watching.

And even though the sect thinks they handled the problem…

They might've just delayed something way bigger
