"Damn it! Looks like I was too lenient with you!" The super-giant Tentacruel controlling Meowth roared angrily, abandoning any thought of negotiating with Dragon-Scaled Charizard and the others.
'Looks like we really ticked this big guy off!' the golden Pidgeot teased.
'By the way, you dumb bird, when did you evolve? At first I thought the master had caught a new partner!' Charizard glanced at Pidgeot, noticing the powerful aura radiating from it. It had clearly grown much stronger—seems like it had been training hard behind the scenes. He had almost been outdone.
'Stop calling me that nickname. I might not lose to you anymore!' Pidgeot replied proudly.
'Look at you getting cocky. Want to spar after this?' Charizard laughed.
'You guys chat—I'm going in first!'
The crimson Gyarados let out a fierce roar, intimidating the super-giant Tentacruel and the Tentacruel around it, lowering their Attack. Then, stacking damage through its Moxie Ability, it slammed its Waterfall hard enough to force the massive Tentacruel backward.
'Good grief!' Pidgeot exclaimed in shock. It hadn't expected such a colossal monster to be knocked back in one blow. That was outrageous.
'Looks like I can't fall behind either,' Scyther said calmly. A green glow surrounded its body as it closed its eyes and used Swords Dance. Then it unleashed consecutive Air Slashes—countless sharp wind blades mercilessly carving across the super-giant Tentacruel's body, forcing it to retaliate under the relentless assault.
Unable to endure the pain, the super-giant Tentacruel cast Meowth aside, preparing to fight at full strength against the Pokémon attacking it.
'Guess it's time for me to make an appearance too!' the massive Onix said, lifting nearby building debris and hurling it into the sky before using Rock Slide on the super-giant Tentacruel.
As Tentacruel tried to resist, Charizard struck its head with Dragon Breath. The impact left it paralyzed.
'Perfect chance!'
Seeing the status condition take effect, Charizard's body erupted with violet-gold draconic killing intent. The terrifying aura transformed into a massive energy dragon that enveloped him. With a powerful flap of his wings, he charged at the super-giant Tentacruel, allowing its water jet to slam directly into his body.
Charizard was now Fire-type + Dragon-type. Water no longer had a type advantage against him, and with the Multiscale Ability boosting his defenses, the super-giant Tentacruel's attack felt like nothing more than a scratch.
'Forgot to tell you—I'm not afraid of water!'
As the words fell, an explosion echoed throughout the city. The super-giant Tentacruel was driven halfway into the seabed by Charizard's Dragon Rush. Charizard soared into the sky and let out a victorious dragon roar.
"Gulu!"
From a distant skyscraper, Ash and the others stared in stunned disbelief at the battle over the sea. The apocalyptic super-giant Tentacruel had no power to resist before Charizard and the others.
'Don't get cocky!' the super-giant Tentacruel roared. A sphere of light shot into the sky, and heavy rain began pouring across the entire area—Rain Dance.
'What a troublesome weather effect!' Pidgeot complained. The rain weighed down its wings, slowing its proud speed.
The rainfall invigorated the crimson Gyarados—but before it could show a pleased expression, Charizard suddenly spread his wings and launched a fireball skyward, splitting the rainclouds in two and turning their side of the battlefield into harsh sunlight.
"…?"
Gyarados said nothing. It simply gave Charizard a long, deep look. A very long look… and said absolutely nothing.
'You think you're the only one who can change the weather?' Charizard scoffed, blasting a Tentacruel that tried to ambush him with Flamethrower and knocking it out.
'Now it's time for my speed showcase!'
Pidgeot transformed into a streak of golden lightning, nimbly toying with the super-giant Tentacruel as it attempted to defend. With a swift loop, it executed Aerial Ace, striking directly at its vital point.
'Do you dare face me head-on?!' the super-giant Tentacruel raged. Under the continuous onslaught of the four Pokémon, it gained no advantage. Its trusted subordinates were nothing more than experience points in their eyes.
"Don't be discouraged, Onix! You've always been my pride!" Red said, stroking the massive Onix in comfort. Watching his companions fight bravely while he could only stand on a distant rooftop was painful for Onix. Red could only offer reassurance.
The Feebas in Red's arms, seeing its senior so downcast, joined him in comforting Onix.
Dragon Rush, Brave Bird, Waterfall, and X-Scissor—the four Pokémon unleashed their signature moves. In response, the super-giant Tentacruel quickly used Surf. Towering waves swallowed the four Pokémon instantly, and the massive Onix anxiously retaliated with Stone Edge.
"Don't worry. These guys aren't that easy to deal with," Red said calmly, gently stroking the Feebas in his arms.
"Roar—!"
Charizard was the first to break through, several reckless Tentacruel still clinging to his body. He immediately used Flare Blitz, his entire body engulfed in blazing flames, burning the Tentacruel off and sending them plunging into the sea, steam rising as they fell.
Wrapped in fire, Charizard slammed head-on into the super-giant Tentacruel's head. As it tried to shake him off, its tentacles were scorched by his intense heat. At close range, it finally forced him back with Aurora Beam.
"Good morning, viewers! We are reporting live from Hutber Port, where a sudden attack by a super-giant Tentacruel has erupted!"
As Red's Pokémon battled the monster, a helicopter equipped with live broadcast equipment appeared overhead, reporting the situation and zooming in on Red.
"This young man is the trainer of these powerful Pokémon. He is fighting to save Hutber Port. Let's get a close-up interview to hear his thoughts!"
The helicopter descended slowly. A curvaceous female reporter approached Red and shoved a microphone directly to his mouth, startling the Feebas into trembling. It knew what was coming—Red was about to explode.
"Get lost," Red said coldly. His eyes flashed blue as he unleashed his psychic power, forcing the reporter into a corner. The massive Onix beside him glared darkly at her for provoking its master.
The reporter had never experienced anything like this. Blinded by the pursuit of high ratings, she had recklessly shoved the microphone forward—never expecting Red's temper to be this fierce.
"Bang—!"
When she showed signs of stepping forward again, the massive Onix used Iron Tail to smash part of a nearby high-rise, issuing a clear warning.
The intimidation worked. Not only did it frighten the reporter, but the helicopter above also dared not capture Red's face on camera, fearing Onix might bring it crashing into the sea.
Pidgeot and Scyther continuously unleashed countless sharp wind blades, aiming to focus their attacks on the super-giant Tentacruel's eyes. Terrified by their vicious precision, Tentacruel used its tentacles to block the attacks, leaving no room to defend against the crimson Gyarados.
"Though its massive body grants it strength and stamina, it's lost its original agility. And since it just evolved, this super-giant Tentacruel can no longer threaten Charizard and the others," Red said calmly. After glancing at the apologetic staff members, he finally released the psychic restraint on the reporter.
"Next time, it won't be so simple," Red added coldly, terrifying the reporter once more. She hurriedly urged the pilot to leave at once, afraid Red might change his mind.
"Tentacruel, please leave! Humans understand your intentions now—just go! You're no match for Red!" Misty said sadly, watching the distant battlefield with a heavy heart for the wounded Tentacruel and Tentacruel.
"This was inevitable, Misty," Brock comforted her. "If not for Red, this city might have been swallowed by Tentacruel. He's only thinking from humanity's perspective."
"Don't worry, Misty. My brother truly loves Pokémon. Everything he's doing now is to make Tentacruel give up their thoughts of revenge and leave as soon as possible!"
