"Come back, Charmander!"
Seeing this, Ash quickly recalled the Charmander that had fainted on the ground, staring solemnly at the Gloom in front of him.
(Damn it, Charmander was actually knocked out by the stench…)
Ash had underestimated Gloom's smell. He never expected his best fighter, Charmander, to be defeated like this.
"In that case, Pidgeotto, I choose you!"
Ash threw the Poké Ball in his hand again, planning to rely on the power of Gust to disperse Gloom's foul odor.
"Pidgeotto, huh? Not a bad tactic." Erika nodded and said.
Pidgeotto could not only fan its wings to disperse the smell, but its attributes also double-countered Gloom, making it a solid battle choice.
Just as Ash and Erika were about to begin their battle, an explosion suddenly sounded from not far away. Immediately afterward, a staff member ran over in a panic.
"Gym Leader, someone stole the perfume ingredients!"
"If someone dares to cause trouble here, it can only be those three from Team Rocket!" Red concluded.
After hearing that, Ash and the other two also nodded in agreement. They hadn't paid attention to them for so long that the trio had somehow managed to make their presence known again.
The tiny sparks from the explosion accidentally fell onto a flower. Before long, a considerable fire broke out inside the Celadon Gym!
"Sorry, Ash. The Gym challenge has to be suspended for now!" Erika said, hurriedly beginning to evacuate the surrounding Grass-type Pokémon with the staff.
"Come out, Milotic! Use Hydro Pump!"
Seeing this, Red immediately threw out Milotic to assist. A thick column of water instantly covered the flames. Ash and Misty, seeing this, quickly released their own Water-type Pokémon as well, working together with Milotic to extinguish the fire in the Gym.
"Good thing we discovered it in time. Otherwise, the entire Gym would have been swallowed by the flames!" Red said cautiously.
Having learned of the fire in advance, Red and the many Pokémon managed to extinguish the blaze in a short time, preventing the Celadon Gym from suffering further damage.
"This is bad—where's Eevee?!" Erika cried in panic.
The Eevee that had been in Erika's arms earlier had mysteriously disappeared.
"With the strength of those three unlucky idiots, it's absolutely impossible for them to defeat Eevee. There must be another force interfering!" Red judged.
He threw two Poké Balls, sending out Thousand-Year Gengar and Abra.
"I'm counting on you two!"
Abra used Teleport, while Thousand-Year Gengar sank into the shadows, each going off to search for the missing Eevee.
"What a great feeling!" ×3
At this moment, the Team Rocket trio had already stolen the perfume ingredients and successfully diverted Damon's attention.
In the warehouse where waste materials were stored at the Celadon Gym, Damon was currently ordering Crobat to attack Eevee.
To be precise, it was Eevee that had transformed into its Jolteon state.
To lure Eevee out, Damon had deliberately borrowed a reagent from Professor Hemlock—a drug that made the test subject's mind addicted to it. The drug could induce hallucinations, causing Eevee to unknowingly walk toward the source of the scent.
"As expected of a test subject created by Professor Hemlock. You're quite troublesome," Damon mocked.
He easily avoided the electric currents released by Jolteon and immediately ordered Crobat to use Cross Poison!
Crobat crossed the front edges of its wings, releasing poisonous energy that struck Jolteon's vital point with precision.
"Although you can change forms, your experiment still isn't complete…"
Damon leisurely flipped through the file titled Test Subject No. 2 in his hand. It contained detailed records of Jolteon's various weaknesses and defects.
At the very top, written clearly in red letters, was the note: changing forms would be accompanied by bone-piercing pain.
Because of this information, Damon and Crobat were able to easily exploit Jolteon's weakness.
"Trying to run? Crobat, use Mean Look!" Damon ordered.
Crobat's eyes emitted a soul-piercing dark gaze as it stared motionlessly at Jolteon. Under the effect of Mean Look, Jolteon found itself unable to move its legs to escape.
"It's over. Crobat, use Cross Poison!" Damon said coldly.
He intended to beat Jolteon to the brink of collapse so it would be easier to transport. The last time Eevee escaped was because it still had plenty of stamina. This time, Damon was determined to eliminate every unfavorable factor.
"Your plan won't be that easy~"
A teasing voice echoed mysteriously through the surroundings.
Thousand-Year Gengar emerged from the darkness and interrupted Crobat's attack with a Dark Pulse.
"Gengar? And a shiny one at that. I don't recall the Celadon Gym having a Pokémon like this…"
Damon cautiously moved closer to Crobat and switched to a pair of high-tech glasses capable of blocking Hypnosis, preventing Thousand-Year Gengar from suddenly using it.
"What a cautious human. Looks like a battle can't be avoided for a while," Thousand-Year Gengar said leisurely.
(Thankfully I told that chuuni brat to inform the boss.)
"Don't think I don't know you're notifying that kid!" Damon suddenly crushed the cheap glasses in his hand. He and Crobat simultaneously released Killing Intent Domain.
"A Pokémon like you is definitely not something an ordinary person can control. Among everyone in the Celadon Gym, there's only that boy!"
(What the hell? Aren't villains supposed to have no brains? Why isn't this guy falling for it?!)
Thousand-Year Gengar scratched its head in confusion. It didn't expect Damon to immediately unleash his ultimate move together with Crobat.
"Wing Attack!" Damon ordered.
Crobat's wings glowed with white light as it rapidly clashed with Thousand-Year Gengar. In response, Thousand-Year Gengar immediately used Shadow Punch, meeting Crobat head-on in a contest of strength.
"I don't want my records to be filled with repeated failures!"
Damon looked coldly at Jolteon, who was struggling to get up. He threw the dagger at his waist, stabbing Jolteon in the abdomen.
Blood flowed from Jolteon's body, but Damon showed no sympathy. He stepped forward and viciously kicked Jolteon in the head, knocking it unconscious.
"What a vile guy!" Thousand-Year Gengar said angrily.
It couldn't help but feel sympathy for Jolteon. After struggling so hard to escape Team Rocket's pursuit, it had still ended up in such a miserable situation.
Thousand-Year Gengar's eyes glowed as it used Hypnosis to interfere with Crobat's judgment. However, Crobat—synchronized with Damon through Killing Intent Domain—could not be easily hypnotized.
Taking advantage of the moment, Thousand-Year Gengar sank back into the shadows, preparing to look for another opportunity to strike.
"Aren't you companions? Are you just going to watch your partner be humiliated under my feet?"
As he spoke, Damon ground the sole of his shoe harshly against Jolteon's face.
That scene completely ignited the anger within Thousand-Year Gengar.
The shadow emerged again from the corner. Thousand-Year Gengar's eyes glowed blue as it used Psychic, restraining Damon and Crobat.
"How is that possible? They actually broke free from my control!" Thousand-Year Gengar exclaimed in shock.
A pitch-black aura suddenly emerged from Damon and Crobat's bodies, shattering the psychic restraint coming from Thousand-Year Gengar.
