{After contemplating if we should spend the night in the relay camp or continue through the journey, Supreme Heimer chose the former.
Reasons were for the horses to graze and rest, as well as the troops being in tip top condition.
I refused to step foot in that place, especially not after the happenings of that day, even just looking at the wall sent shivers through me.
[Bang Bang Ban…gunshots from that day surfaced in his mind.]
I opted to sleep inside one of the wagons, it's jarring to think that where I now stand being these very wall was my goal months ago.
As I brush my hands against this very wall, the feeling that overcomes me is uncertain to myself as well.
Sleeping in the wagon wasn't that bad, except for the fact that I couldn't sleep, so I just sat there doing visual training.}
The morning came and they set off, all refreshed; all but Leo, the formation remained mostly the same.
For the first time since the battle, and the returning of the corpses the fourth sector that had been deemed unsafe welcomed human life.
"You used to live here?" Caesar asked loudly Leo from behind the left wagon.
Most of the troops had never stepped foot in the third sector prior to the recruitment, so it was less likely that they would have ever crossed the fourth.
Though the Supreme and commander Gustev were an exception, as well as Rud.
"No, we're still hours away from that place, I hardly know anywhere else, except from their map descriptors.
What I can say for certain was Mjiormire was the largest, and the trees surrounding it are unlike any in the other parts of the empire." Leo replied Caesar.
Caesar put his head back into the wagon he boarded which had five people seated in it;
Beside him to his left was Cera and at his front was Karius, Dan and Clarence.
"Leo came from the fourth sector?
I never knew." Karius stated in surprise.
"So did I, I heard there weren't any survivors" Clarence added.
"Well he did" Caesar replied Clarence in a rather cold tone.
"Everything I hear about him reinforces my thoughts that he's special.
Unnaturally so." Karius said with a slight scoff.
"As do I, though he doesn't seem to regard himself as such." Caesar responded.
"What is so special about him, cut the crap.
Special yet weaker than the lot here."
Caesar turned to his left and looked Cera straight in the eye.
"I would take it as you being blind or a voluntarily refusal to use your eyes.
Because that is all it would take to see it.
And I'm still in surprise you have the audacity to speak after your display the other day." Caesar said to her harshly.
"My display?
Oh please, at least I have it in me to show what I truly am unlike some of us seated here.
And I'll admit he's something, but special wouldn't be the word for it, it would be different." Cera looked Caeser straight in the eye as well.
"Showing your true self doesn't mean being an asshole now does it." Caesar dismissed her then returned his head to its original position.
Cera grinned a bit.
"I have nothing to say to a underprivileged royal who is only here because he has no chance in the battle for the throne.
You're in a throne war with three children ahead of you, so you chose to crawl here.
You're as basic as it gets with nothing special going on for him, except being birthed from royalty.
And now you chose one that contrasts you as your best friend.
Pathetic loser." Cera dumped this very harshly.
The others in the in the wagon knew she had taken it too far.
"Why don't we let this die?" Dan tried to stop the conflict, the other two avoided speaking.
All seated there feared that Cera's words would incur Caesar's anger.
Caesar turned his head and gazed at Cera;
"And?
You reminded of what I already had in the back of my mind, you said things that I had heard in multiple forms and multiple times.
Still I applaud your attempt, I have come to terms with my reality.
Did you think mere words could break me down?" Caesar said calmly – like still water with no ripples.
Cera raised one brow and frowned, her face looked very angered and confused at the same time, her attempt had failed.
"Tch!" She rotated her head with no more words to say.
The wagon remained silent for a long time.
"Caesar!" Leo's voice echoed through the noisy environment.
Caesar lifted up his head and extended his head out of the open space at the back of the canopy.
"Look, we're passing through the first town Jeiher…or what remains of it." Leo notified Caesar.
They passed through a jungle of broken concrete and wood, infrastructures that once stood tall flattened down.
An insult to what was; something beautiful, the town once hailed as a the most beautiful outside the empire,.reduced to mere rubble.
They had to reduce their pace due to blocked roads and paths, this occurred multiple times through their journey, especially in towns.
The diversions piled up, and extended their journey by a lot, by the time they got halfway through the sector it was already evening.
"The horses are refusing to move, we should stop and let them have their rest." Heimer said to Gustev.
Gustev nodded then looked behind.
"I don't think they are the only ones that need resting.
The journey is taking its toll on the people as well, it is better to be as recharged as possible for what comes next." Gustev advised.
"We will rest the horses for about two hours then set off again, I cannot let them get too lax when we are about to be in uncharted lands.
This will be a short break." Heimer stood on his words.
