"The battle still had to be fought."
After wiping out the wolf pack's weaker members, Yu Yuanzhen joined the fight against the Red-Toothed Thunder Wolf.
Under the overwhelming suppression of the Ultimate Thunder attribute, the Red-Toothed Thunder Wolf stood little chance. Before long, it was completely overpowered.
By the time Yu Yuanzhen had finished dealing with the lesser wolves and joined the battle, the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf had already begun thinking about escape.
It understood its situation perfectly. Once the Red-Toothed Thunder Wolf fell, it would be left alone to face three Hundred Thousand-Year Soul Beasts and a human Titled Douluo. Even with its numerous Spirit Abilities, surviving such a siege would be nearly impossible.
Moreover, it still remembered that the three Soul Beasts had another Hundred Thousand-Year companion that had yet to appear.
Unfortunately, escaping was easier said than done.
The Sky Azure Bull Python had no intention of letting its greatest threat slip away.
The entire reason for cooperating with humans was to eliminate the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf once and for all.
No one was willing to let a powerful enemy with limitless potential continue to grow stronger.
With that in mind, the Sky Azure Bull Python unleashed its Slowing Domain, even at the cost of injuring itself, to keep the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf trapped.
Realizing there was no escape, the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf watched as the Red-Toothed Thunder Wolf was gradually overwhelmed. Despair filled its heart.
"You beasts actually chose to cooperate with humans! You are traitors to all Spirit Beasts!"
It roared in human language, cursing them relentlessly.
The Sky Azure Bull Python snorted dismissively.
"Whether we're traitors or not isn't for you to decide."
"Or should we simply wait for you to grow stronger until you're powerful enough to kill us?"
"You've already become a threat to our lives, yet you still dare accuse us of betrayal?"
Not long afterward, the Red-Toothed Thunder Wolf let out one final mournful howl before collapsing alive into the hands of Yu Yuanzhen and the others.
With every other wolf defeated, everyone's attention shifted to the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf.
"ROAR!"
Feeling countless eyes fixed upon it, the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf lowered its body and growled, every strand of fur standing on end.
It truly deserved its reputation as one of the strongest wolf-type Spirit Beasts.
Fighting with everything it had, it unleashed Spirit Ability after Spirit Ability without restraint, forcing Yu Yuanzhen and the others to temporarily avoid its devastating attacks.
Yet the more they avoided direct confrontation, the more hopeless the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf became.
After all, this wasn't a duel.
It was four against one.
When opponents vastly stronger than you deliberately drag the battle into a war of attrition, the outcome is inevitable.
Eventually, Yu Yuanzhen decided it was time to test his newest and strongest technique—
The Thunder of Destruction.
Golden and blue lightning merged once more in his palm.
As the two energies fused, Yu Yuanzhen carefully tried to sense the changes occurring within them.
Unfortunately, the fusion happened far too quickly.
Before he could understand the process, it was already complete.
A bolt of black lightning condensed in his palm.
A dull rumble echoed through the battlefield.
Simply standing near it, everyone could feel an overwhelming aura capable of destroying everything in existence.
Among the three Soul Beasts, Arou was once again left speechless.
She stared blankly at the black lightning in Yu Yuanzhen's hand, suddenly feeling grateful.
Grateful that when she had first witnessed Yu Xiaogang's potential to become a god, her only thought had been cooperation instead of eliminating him.
Had she chosen the latter...
Yu Yuanzhen would probably have erased her with a single strike.
Meanwhile, the Sky Azure Bull Python silently observed the Thunder of Destruction.
As a Hundred Thousand-Year Soul Beast, it possessed two signature abilities.
The first was its mastery over slowing techniques, giving birth to both the Slowing Domain and the Sky Azure Slowing Divine Claw.
The second was its ultimate offensive technique—
Azure Silence Thunder.
For countless years, it had taken immense pride in mastering this devastating lightning attack.
But now...
As Yu Yuanzhen displayed the Thunder of Destruction, the Sky Azure Bull Python sensed something strangely familiar.
The two abilities shared the same destructive essence.
Yet they destroyed in entirely different ways.
"It possesses a power similar to my own..."
For the first time, the Sky Azure Bull Python developed genuine interest in Yu Yuanzhen.
Of course, this wasn't the time for conversation.
Once the Thunder of Destruction appeared, the battle quickly became one-sided.
Every Spirit Ability launched by the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf was instantly obliterated upon colliding with the black lightning.
Its attacks were as fragile as bubbles, vanishing the moment they made contact.
Finally, the Thunder of Destruction struck the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf's battered body.
Having exhausted every last ounce of strength, the beast could no longer resist.
It exploded into nothingness.
When the light faded, only a scarlet Hundred Thousand-Year Spirit Ring and a single Spirit Bone remained.
Yu Yuanzhen stared blankly at the scene before looking down at his own hand.
"It seems... I shouldn't use the Thunder of Destruction so casually in the future."
Even a powerful Hundred Thousand-Year Soul Beast had been reduced to nothing without leaving behind a body.
If this attack struck an ordinary human Spirit Master, whose physical strength was nowhere near comparable...
The result would be unimaginable.
No wonder this power had attracted the attention of the God of Destruction.
At that moment, the Titan Giant Ape walked over and examined Yu Yuanzhen from head to toe.
"Human... you are very strong."
It openly admitted its mistake.
Initially, it had assumed Yu Yuanzhen was merely an ordinary Titled Douluo.
Now it realized he possessed a truly terrifying trump card.
Yu Yuanzhen smiled.
"If I weren't confident in my strength, I wouldn't dare venture alone into the depths of the Star Dou Great Forest."
As he spoke, he retrieved a bright red fruit from his storage soul tool.
He crushed it in his hand before walking toward the Hundred Thousand-Year Spirit Ring and Spirit Bone.
The fruit came from a plant-type Spirit Beast that attacked by launching its fruit.
Picking the fruit caused no reaction.
However, once the fruit was crushed, the Spirit Beast immediately sensed the disturbance.
It served as the secret signal Yu Yuanzhen and the Grand Elder had agreed upon beforehand.
Standing before the scarlet Spirit Ring, Yu Yuanzhen rubbed his hands together excitedly.
For every Spirit Master capable of reaching the rank of Titled Douluo, obtaining a Hundred Thousand-Year Spirit Ring was the ultimate dream.
It represented not only overwhelming power but also unparalleled glory.
Just imagining himself summoning his Martial Spirit, displaying a brilliant red Spirit Ring, and watching his enemies stare in disbelief...
The thought alone was deeply satisfying.
"What a pity..."
"I have no way of obtaining a Hundred Thousand-Year Spirit Ring for myself."
A trace of disappointment appeared on his face.
However, as he continued observing the Moon Devouring Azure Wolf's Spirit Ring, an odd feeling suddenly surfaced.
"This Hundred Thousand-Year Spirit Ring..."
"It feels like it's missing something."
Yu Yuanzhen muttered to himself.
"The thing it's missing..."
"...is the resentment of the Spirit Beast that once inhabited it."
