Chapter 3 - Awakening

After some more days at the hospital we returned to my family home, Veyron Tower.

The morning light in the Veyron Tower was faint yellow and very pleasing to the eyes.

High above the planet, massive transparent sky blue garment made of magic fiber filtering the harmful UV rays from the light.

Inside my room AI-driven maintenance drones drifted along the high ceilings and floor while the household staff moved silently to clean furniture.

The air was crisp, carrying the grounding scent of fresh grass and expensive sandalwood.

I sat at a japanese style low table in the centre of the sun-drenched room.

To anyone else, I was just a 5 year old cute child, with my mother's "Golden Ratio" features and dark and deep eyes but my mind was miles away from the toys scattered in the corner.

I wasn't playing.

I was studying the book on the theory of transportation management my mages.

In my past life, mathematical formulas were just theory and real management was used to happen by practice but in this life every formula can be convert into small card using your own magic fibers and can be stored in brain and when the mana is provided to the card it will give the solution immediately. So people has begin to use the exact formulas in this world.

I held a pencil in my small hand, scribbling notes onto physical paper.

I can not create magic cards yet so I was practising for now on the physical papers.

It was fun as I know after becoming mage I can actually store these formulas in my brain.

"The transit curve is too wide," I thought while solving a problem in the book, my brow furrowing in what my parents probably called "adorable" concentration.

I was using optimization formula to reduce the fuel required in a particular transportation problem.

While my adult mind know the exact formula, my five year old mind is not able to put it together in thoughts.

My brain simply couldn't process my own thought process due to which almost all the time even while thinking like a adult buy body behave like a child.

I reached out to look at the formula in the book which was also made of digital 3d pages which automatically come to the page number i want to study without speaking and show the formula in 3d space. I tried to focus again on the formula.

But I just can not concentrate with my mind. I puffed out my cheeks in a childish pout.

It was frustrating. I "knew" the way, but the bridge between knowing and doing remained painfully long.

I didn't realize my parents were standing in the doorway until I heard the faint rustle of clothing.

My father, Arin, stood there. Tall, lean, and looking dashing even in a simple white t-shirt.

He had his arms wrapped around my mother, Lyra, whose long pink hair caught the morning light.

They were watching me with a mixture of love and with doubts as they did not think I can copletely understand the book I was reading. but they know I am smart and can learn these things quickly.

"He's trying too hard." I heard my father whisper, his voice vibrating with a pride he couldn't hide.

I didn't look up; I was too focused on restarting my study.

But then suddenly, I felt a strange sensation. A deep, heavy ripple radiating within the meridians of my body.

"Arin, look," Mom whispered, her medical knowledge quickly come into act.

My magic fiber were about to manifest.

Unlike the thin fiber I read about in most prodigies, mine were little more thick and a vibrant, deep red.

Then, I suddenly felt a warmth on my upper lip.

I blinked, momentarily confused, and wiped my nose with the back of my hand. It was blood.

The mental shock of feeling magic fiber for the first time at a young age caused me a light injury.

I suddenly felt small, fragile, and very much like a five-year-old.

"He tried to look at his fibers" Dad noted, but his voice sounded stunned rather than disappointed.

"But those fibers are more thick for a five-year-old."

Mom nodded, her eyes soft as she watched me. "His magic fibers are stronger which is a good thing."

Later that night, the high-tech grandeur of the tower faded into the simple warmth of my parents' bed.

I lay half asleep between them, my breathing rhythmic and peaceful.

To them, I was just a tired boy exhausted from a day of "play."

I didn't feel the weight of the space pirates or the looming wars of the future in my dreams.

I just felt the safety of my family.

"He's going to be something incredible, isn't he?" Mom whispered, brushing a stray lock of hair from my forehead.

Dad smiled, pulling the covers up and tucking us both in a little closer.

"He already is. For now, let's just let him be a boy who likes his magical theory books."

In the quiet of the room, slowly I fully fall asleep.

Deep within me, those thick red fibers pulsed faintly.

Next morning, 6:00 AM.

Air was crisp and cool, carrying the sweet, nostalgic scent of freshly cut grass from the sprawling gardens just outside in the 100th floor balcony.

In the Veyron household, the day began early. Outside the massive windows, the horizon was already yellow with the filtered light through the core protective transparent garment.

The sunlight was real and filtered, pouring into the living room and chasing away the last shadows of the night.

In the center of the hall, five-year-old Kaelen was already awake, sitting cross-legged on a plush rug. He looked incredibly cute in his favorite white bear pajamas, his dark black eyes reflecting the early dawn light.

To a casual observer, he looked like any other child waiting for morning cartoons; in reality, he was thinking about the magic science show he watched just now.

His mother, Lyra, walked in with a gentle grace. She looked lovely, her long pink hair tied back in a loose ponytail and her slim, athletic figure moving with effortless poise.

She leaned down and handed Kaelen a small glass of fresh orange juice.

"Good morning, my little mage" she whispered, kissing his forehead.

Arin followed close behind, looking dashing in a simple white t-shirt and black pants after taking bath. He stepped up behind Lyra, hugging her from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder as they both watched their son watching magic science show lovingly.
