Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Lycan King

Aldrake's head throbbed with frustration as he massaged his temples. How could his Beta have forgotten to inform him about the Lycan King's visit? It was a monumental oversight, and now he was caught off guard.

The Lycan King's arrival at his home, for the first time no less, had Aldrake's anxiety spiking.

Livia, however, couldn't help but find the situation amusing, her suppressed laughter evident on her face. Aldrake's glare snapped towards her, his anger boiling over.

"What's so funny?" he growled, his patience wearing thin. Livia's smile only grew wider, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Nothing... I just didn't think a demon like you would still have something to fear," she teased, her voice laced with amusement.

Aldrake's anger was palpable, and Livia seemed to be egging him on, wanting to see him lose control.

"Shut up, or you'll get hurt!" Aldrake's warning was clear, but Livia just taunted him further.

"Go ahead, hurt me, and let your guests see how you treat me!" Her words pushed Aldrake to the edge, his jaw clenched in rage.

If it weren't for the presence of his guests, he would have already lashed out at her.

Just as Aldrake was about to say something, the grand doors of the hall swung open, and the two Alphas from the Dark Feather Pack and Black Shadow Pack stood up, followed by their councils, as a tall, imposing figure entered.

Aldrake and his pack members followed suit, rising to their feet out of respect, though confusion was evident on their faces.

The man's physique was chiseled, his presence exuding power and authority.

His aura was icy cold, and his face was set in a serious expression as he walked down the red carpet, commanding the attention of everyone in the room.

The silence was palpable for a few seconds before it was broken by whispers and murmurs from Aldrake's pack members.

All of them were wondering who this mysterious man was, and why he seemed to radiate such an aura of power.

Meanwhile, Aldrake's eyes narrowed as he studied the man from head to toe, taking in every detail of his appearance and attire, trying to figure out who he was and what his intentions were.

Aldrake's mind was racing with questions, his wolf, Uno, sensing his confusion.

"Who is he? Is he the Lycan King?" he asked silently, and Uno responded, > "I don't sense his wolf, or maybe his presence is just weak." Aldrake's brow furrowed in confusion.

"So, he's not the Lycan King?" he asked again, and Uno replied, > "Maybe not. Perhaps he's the Lycan King's Beta... but we've already seen his Beta, haven't we?" Even Uno seemed puzzled, unable to sense the man's wolf.

The only strong presence they felt was coming from the man himself, not his wolf.

"Maybe he's the Lycan King's Gamma," Aldrake thought to himself, deciding to step down from his throne and approach the mysterious man, who had stopped a few steps away in front of them.

"Are you the Lycan King's Gamma? Where is he?" Aldrake asked with a smile, trying to hide his growing unease.

"Didn't Alpha Sebastian say the Lycan King would be visiting my home? Did he cancel and send his Gamma instead?" Aldrake glanced behind the man, half-expecting to see the Lycan King standing there.

When the man didn't respond, Aldrake's smile began to falter, and he felt a surge of irritation. Just as he was about to press for an answer, Alpha Dominick burst out laughing.

"Wait, Gamma?" he asked, his voice shaking with amusement.

Aldrake turned to him, confused, and Alpha Dominick's laughter only grew louder.

"Oh, yeah, Gamma... or maybe he's the Head Warrior?" Aldrake's questions only seemed to fuel Alpha Dominick's laughter, while Alpha Sebastian shook his head and remained silent, returning to his seat.

"I can't... Oh my gosh!" Alpha Dominick's laughter eventually subsided, and he composed himself, his expression turning serious once more.

Aldrake's attention snapped back to the man, who remained expressionless. "Are you going to speak? I'm asking you where the Lycan King is," Aldrake demanded, his irritation growing.

Just as he was about to continue, one of the Dark Feather Pack's councils spoke up, his voice trembling with fear.

"What right do you have to speak in front of our Maje..." But before he could finish, the man raised his hand, and the council's words were cut short.

The council bowed his head and returned to his seat in silence, as if commanded by the man's gesture alone. The room fell silent once more, with all eyes on the mysterious figure.

"Who are you?" The three words that came out of the man's mouth were like thunder, striking fear into the hearts of everyone present, including Aldrake.

His voice was incredibly deep and cold, as if it came from the depths of the earth. But despite the fear he felt, Aldrake found the courage to speak.

"You're asking me who I am? Isn't it rude that you don't know who you're facing..." His words were cut off as the man spoke again,

"Who are you?" The repetition was unnerving, and Aldrake felt a chill run down his spine as he realized that the man was not asking out of curiosity, but rather, he was demanding an answer.

Aldrake's anger flared up at the man's question, feeling disrespected and challenged. How could this person not know who he was?.

"You really don't know me, huh? Fine, I'll introduce myself. But once I tell you my name, you'll kneel before me. Don't you know that your ignorance of who I am is a great insult?"

Aldrake's words were laced with indignation and anger, his ego bruised by the fact that someone didn't recognize him.

He expected reverence and respect, and the man's lack of knowledge was a blow to his pride.

"Shut up! You have no right to order..." The council from the Black Shadow Pack's attempt to intervene was cut short once again by the man's raised hand.

Aldrake ignored the council's words and fixed his gaze on the man, his expression condescending.

The air was thick with tension as Aldrake's arrogance clashed with the man's unyielding authority.

The man's silence only seemed to fuel Aldrake's anger, and he took a step forward, his eyes locked on the man.

As Aldrake speaks, his eyes gleamed with anticipation, expecting the man to cower in fear or at least show a glimmer of surprise.

"I am the leader of this pack. I am Alpha Aldrake Greywolf," he declared, his voice ringing with pride. But the man's expression remained impassive, his eyes cold and unyielding.

Aldrake's gaze searched for any sign of weakness, but there was none. The lack of reaction only fueled his anger, and he lost control, grabbing the man's clothes in a fierce grip.

The man's height advantage meant nothing to Aldrake in that moment, his rage and indignation driving him forward.

"You are an impudent fool!! Won't you kneel and apologize to me for your insolence in my presence?" Aldrake's anger boiled over as he snarled at the man.

Just as the situation was escalating, the doors to the hall burst open, and the Beta of the Blood Moon Pack rushed in.

His eyes widened in shock as he took in the scene, and without hesitation, he pushed Aldrake away with considerable force, causing him to stumble backward.

The Moonlight Pack's guards immediately went on high alert, drawing their weapons and pointing them at the Dark Feather Pack and Black Shadow Pack's guards, who responded immediately.

The two Alphas watched the unfolding scene with calm interest, while Livia's eyes were fixed on the mysterious man, her mind racing with questions about why he was here, and why he had helped her before.

The air was electric with tension, and it seemed that a single spark could ignite a full-blown conflict.

"What is he doing here?" Livia wondered silently, and her wolf, Lilly, responded.

> "I don't know either. But did you hear what Aldrake said? He's a Gamma."

Livia's brow furrowed even deeper at this revelation, as she couldn't reconcile the man's powerful presence with such a lowly rank. The authority and aura surrounding him screamed of a leader, not a mere Gamma.

She couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to this man than met the eye, and she found herself intrigued by the enigma that stood before her.

Livia's attention snapped back to the front as Aldrake spoke up, his anger boiling over, especially after being pushed by a Beta who was far beneath him in rank.

"What right do you have to push me..." But before he could finish, the Beta from the Blood Moon Pack turned to him, eyes blazing with fury.

"And what right do you have to treat our leader like that?" Beta's words were like a spark, and in an instant, the hall was filled with an influx of Blood Moon Pack warriors and councils.

The tension in the room skyrocketed, and the atmosphere became volatile. No one dared to speak, the silence was oppressive.

It was then that Alpha Sebastian and Alpha Dominick stood up and approached Livia, their movements smooth and deliberate.

Livia's brow furrowed in confusion, wondering why they were approaching her, but she didn't ask any questions, her eyes fixed on the unfolding drama.

The silence was broken when Aldrake's eyes widened in realization, his gaze fixed on the Beta.

"What did you say? Leader?" he asked, his voice trembling with each word, fear etched on his face. As he looked at the man, it was as if he had seen a ghost.

"He... he's your leader?" Aldrake asked again, his voice barely above a whisper, his face pale as if all the blood had been drained from it.

The fear in his eyes was palpable, and it seemed as though he had stumbled upon a truth he couldn't comprehend.

"You have committed a great offense in front of our leader. In front of the Lycan King!".
