The sun slowly peeked through the clouds, and light gradually filled Florita's small cabin. But despite the morning, the weight of the night still lingered.
Livia, still leaning against Aldus's chest, breathed softly as she listened to the beat of her heart—and the beat that accompanied it. A smile returned to her lips, and despite her weakness, she felt a warmth of hope.
"Thank you... she didn't leave me," she whispered faintly, as if talking to herself.
But outside the cabin, Beta and Gamma still sensed a strange presence around them. They had guarded all night, and even though the wind had died down, their hair still stood on end.
"I'm still uneasy," Gamma whispered, his hand on the hilt of his sword.
"It's like... there are eyes watching us from the forest."
Beta nodded, looking in the direction of the distant trees.
"I feel it too. But I don't want to disturb the king. He needs rest—especially after watching Luna all night."
