When Aldrake stormed back into the hall, the great doors slammed open with the force of his kick. The room fell into an immediate hush; his pack members dropped to their knees before him in reflexive fear.
"How dare he hide Livia from me?!" Aldrake roared, his voice thundering off the rafters. His fists clenched until the knuckles whitened.
"I will not let this pass. He is hiding Livia—mark my words, I will unmask him. And when I do, he will pay. I don't care if he calls himself king!"
He swung his gaze across the council chamber, hungry for zealotry from his officers.
"Prepare everything. If necessary, I will carry this to the Council of Elders. And when Livia falls, the Lycan King will fall with her."
At his command, the Beta wasted no time. He ordered the summons: call the council, call the elders. The hall erupted into urgent motion.
