During this trip to the Bashu region, Fang Yu had not only absorbed a Spirit Seed, but had also received the blessing of the Totem White Crane.
However, although the gains were immense, the mysteries had only multiplied.
Why did the Dazu Rock Carvings contain a Totem relic?
Were the humans of that ancient city once guardians of the Totem as well?
He needed to uncover the truth behind it all.
Coincidentally, he knew of a place that could provide more information.
It was time to pay a visit there.
Fang Yu did not remain in the ancient city for long before returning to Magic City.
After arriving back in Magic City, he headed to Jing'an Temple.
Passing through flourishing avenues lined with lush greenery and blooming flowers, Fang Yu slowly entered an old street district filled with unique charm.
At the very end of the old street one could immediately spot a signboard swaying gently in the alley breeze, creaking softly as it moved.
Four large characters were written on it:
Clear Sky Hunter Agency!
This was the sanctuary Mo Fan had relied on during the early stages of the original timeline, and also the place that allowed him to rise to greatness.
Within Clear Sky Hunter Agency was Old Bao, a former Divine Court Judge from the Holy Judgment Court. Although retired, the influence and authority he secretly possessed could not be underestimated.
He had two granddaughters.
One was the exceptionally intelligent little genius, Lingling.
She was resourceful, knowledgeable, and obsessed with uncovering unknown mysteries.
She would definitely be interested in information regarding the Dazu Rock Carvings Totem.
As for the other, it was the cold and alluring Judge, Leng Qing, with whom he had once shared intimate contact.
Since leaving Bo City back then, Fang Yu had never met Leng Qing again.
Several years had passed. Today, he could finally admire her beauty once more.
A pair of sisters not bad at all.
"Pah, pah, pah. Lingling's still underage. That's a minimum three-year sentence. What nonsense am I thinking about?"
Fang Yu shook his head and tossed aside those distracting thoughts.
As he approached closer, he finally got a clearer look at the old establishment, which resembled a traditional teahouse.
At the entrance sat a little girl with long twin ponytails, swinging her adorable legs while reading a picture book.
Fang Yu glanced through the glass window and noticed that there was not a single person inside the teahouse. Everything, however, was arranged neatly and orderly.
"A client?"
Seeing someone arrive, the little loli spoke excitedly. Her voice was crisp and melodic, like silver bells ringing in summer. She clearly seemed delighted.
"No." Fang Yu shook his head.
The moment she heard he was not here with a commission, disappointment immediately appeared on the little girl's face.
"You're this young. Shouldn't you be in school acting like an innocent little girl? What's with that disappointed expression?" Fang Yu teased.
"Don't underestimate me. Most of the agency's commissions used to be handled by me."
Lingling shot Fang Yu a disdainful look before pulling out something resembling a police badge from her pocket and placing it before him.
It was precisely the proof of a Hunter Master.
"A Hunter Master? Impressive, little girl."
Fang Yu reached out and pinched Lingling's soft cheeks while praising her. Since he already knew about it beforehand, he was not surprised at all.
His actions instantly caused Lingling's lips to puff up high. She hated having her cheeks pinched more than anything.
The elegant little princess from moments ago immediately transformed into an irritable little wildcat.
Fang Yu hurriedly pressed a hand against Lingling's tiny head, making it impossible for her short arms and legs to touch him in the slightest.
A moment later, Fang Yu released her and smiled.
"Alright, I'll stop teasing you. Let me tell you something you'll definitely be interested in."
"Something interesting?"
The little beauty raised her delicate jade-like face, blinking her large sparkling eyes at Fang Yu in confusion.
Fang Yu took out his phone, opened several photos he had recorded at the Dazu Rock Carvings, and handed them over with a smile.
"Take a look at this information first."
"Totem Beast?"
After Lingling finished reading the material, her eyes suddenly lit up and she instantly became energized.
Information regarding Totem Beasts was incredibly scarce. Forget clues, even ancient relics connected to them had either been buried by history or hidden within dangerous demon territories. Digging up even the slightest information about Totem Beasts was extremely difficult.
"These photos are too blurry. Do you have anything more specific?" Lingling asked.
"A crane-type creature from the Bashu region," Fang Yu replied, telling her all the known information regarding the Totem crane creature.
"Alright, wait here for a moment. I'll go upstairs and check. There might be relevant records."
Lingling quickly ran upstairs. The staircase had hollow gaps between the steps, yet the girl paid absolutely no attention to the fact that she was wearing a short skirt. She casually climbed upward right in front of Fang Yu.
Fang Yu immediately shifted his gaze away.
One absolutely could not harbor improper thoughts toward little beauty Lingling, even if she had accidentally exposed those unbelievably adorable pink panties to his line of sight.
Nope. Couldn't think about it anymore.
Minimum three years. Minimum three years. Form is emptiness, form is emptiness.
After searching through a large amount of records, Lingling still failed to discover anything useful.
After all, there were only stone carvings and verbal descriptions available. Finding valuable information from that alone was already difficult enough.
"Still can't find anything… There's just too little information." Lingling carried several thick books in her arms as she walked downstairs with a disappointed expression.
The girl was especially absorbed whenever it came to things that interested her. Her long little legs nearly stepped into empty air without her even noticing. Fortunately, Fang Yu reacted quickly, releasing Spatial power to catch Lingling before she could fall down the stairs.
"This concerns an ancient Totem Beast. It's not something small. Information can be gathered slowly, so there's no need to feel disappointed," Fang Yu said.
"There are a lot of records in the agency. Some of the ancient books have practically turned to dust already. I can keep searching," Lingling replied.
Before Fang Yu could continue speaking, a startled voice suddenly sounded out.
"Fang Yu."
Fang Yu immediately turned his head and saw a beautiful woman walking out from the entrance hallway.
The newcomer was Leng Qing.
Her long hair flowed down naturally, and she wore a pale cyan-white dress. A strand of hair near her chest swayed gently.
Fang Yu replied, "Long time no see!"
"You're not surprised. Looks like you already investigated my information clearly," Leng Qing said.
"Mhm."
"Sis, you know him?" Lingling asked with a face full of surprise.
"We know each other. What are you doing?" Leng Qing asked softly.
Hearing that, Lingling immediately ran over to Leng Qing, took out a book, and said with a smile, "Fang Yu brought some information related to Totem Beasts. I'm looking through records right now."
"Since you two know each other, you can chat. I'll go look for more information first."
After saying that, she turned around and ran off without another word.
Leng Qing then withdrew her gaze and walked behind the counter.
"What would you like to drink?" she asked.
Seeing that she was apparently preparing the drinks personally, Fang Yu answered, "Iced tea."
Leng Qing had probably not touched the things here in a long time, so her movements were obviously a little rusty. After quite a while, she finally prepared Fang Yu's drink. She also made herself a cup of coffee before bringing both over to the table.
At a glance, Fang Yu saw Leng Qing seated on the stool. Her cold and stunning beauty, along with the elegant aura she carried like an orchid hidden in a secluded valley, always created a sense of distance.
Leng Qing, carrying a hint of mature charm, sipped her coffee while her pair of long legs crossed beneath the table, making it difficult to look away.
"Have you stared enough?" Leng Qing glared at Fang Yu as traces of magical aura spread from her body.
"Pure instinct, pure instinct!" Fang Yu immediately admitted defeat. He was merely appreciating beautiful things was there really any need to be this fierce?
