Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: A Temporary Conclusion

Then, Miki was beaten up while holding a sword.

The training for the second day ended there.

Time flowed like water, and in a blink of an eye, two months had passed.

Ever since the Third Hokage sought her out last time, there had been no follow-up, and Miki had no idea what the Third Hokage was planning.

During this period, Miki had been training Taijutsu with the old man Shihu, and her swordsmanship was already quite proficient in actual combat.

Her Wind Release Ninjutsu had also made progress; she could skillfully use the technique called Wind Step without any problems, and for more advanced techniques, the old man Shihu told Miki to figure them out herself.

Miki seriously suspected that the old man Shihu had run out of knowledge.

The old man Shihu's Taijutsu itself was not extremely profound, and he was not outstanding in qualities like strength; on the contrary, he was quite poor in aspects like stamina.

After all, he was an old man, which was normal.

But fundamentally, the old man Shihu's Taijutsu relied on the lethality of nano-poisonous insects, which had no effect on Miki, who possessed the same poisonous insects.

Therefore, the assessment of defeating the old man Shihu was not very difficult.

It was roughly equivalent to defeating a Chunin who used Taijutsu.

And the training was nearing its end.

This premonition was quickly confirmed.

Miki graduated under the three old men, at the moment she placed her sword at the old man Shihu's throat.

"In all aspects, you are a qualified Genin, Mushi-Hime."

That day, the old man Shiyū, who had not appeared for a long time, looked serious.

"In terms of family secret techniques, we have nothing more to teach you."

"And in the cultivation of Taijutsu, we didn't expect your progress to be so fast."

"We originally thought it would take at least one to two years, but Shihu said you have learned everything there is to learn; what remains is just the accumulation of experience."

Because it was a very simple Taijutsu with a personal style, the horse stance and stake training that Miki remembered did not exist at all, apart from some of the old man Shihu's experiential talks and some normal, even rudimentary, basic moves.

There were no complex and ornate boxing techniques like those of Ip Man.

And the old man Shihu had once said that what Miki currently lacked was experience, experience in fighting against others; just fighting him, aside from learning the basics of combat, it was actually difficult to learn much more.

Every Shinobi is different, and so are their fighting styles.

Therefore, every fight would be a different fight, and different things could be learned.

As long as she didn't lose her life, she would naturally grow.

Just fighting the old man Shihu, each time was almost the same repetitive content, dry and boring; one would become foolish from it.

Instead, one would lose their Spirituality.

"As for Ninjutsu, the clan is powerless, but we will still do our best."

"Next, Mushi-Hime, you just need to continue to maintain and refine your training."

"Do not disappoint our expectations of you."

"Yes." Miki nodded her small head.

The old man Shihu immediately breathed a sigh of relief; he was an old man, and it wasn't easy; every half-day, he would be as exhausted as if his whole body had fallen apart.

As time went on, Miki naturally became increasingly difficult to deal with, and the degree of his fatigue would double.

He was not like Miki, a child full of energy, who would wake up after a sleep as if nothing had happened.

If this continued, the time of his death might be advanced by several years; he didn't want to die with his elder brother and continue to suffer grievances in the afterlife.

He just wanted to enjoy a few years of peace after his elder brother passed away.

After the words were spoken, the four of them were silent for a moment, and no one said anything sentimental.

After a while, the old man Shiyū roared.

"Disperse!"

Almost instantly, with years of combat tacit understanding, the three old men vanished before Miki's eyes.

Both Shinobi and Aburame.

Very impressive.

Just as they had suddenly arrived, they suddenly left.

Miki looked up at the sky, feeling a little lost for a moment.

With a few people missing from her life, she always felt a little unaccustomed.

The old man Shiyū, who could abandon his own daughter for years without a glance, Miki didn't think he would specifically come to check on how she was doing.

What should she do next?

It was still a bit early.

Miki first practiced her sword for a while, felt it was a bit boring, and then started practicing Ninjutsu.

Dawdling until the usual time for training to end, Miki walked home with her sword.

The sky wasn't dark yet, the setting sun was red, and crows were cawing on the utility poles by the roadside.

Passing by the park, she unexpectedly met Chiri.

She was alone in the park, swinging on a swing.

With her head down, she looked very dejected, lost in thought.

The moment she looked up and saw Miki...

Her usual smiling face appeared, and she waved naturally at Miki.

This girl...

Terrifying.

If she were a boy, it would be impossible to explain her actions as anything other than a stalker!

Not only did they walk home together every day after school, but she also waited for Miki for so long at their separate meeting point.

Some say the Uchiha is a cursed clan.

Some believe the Uchiha is a clan of love.

Some believe the Uchiha is an arrogant and conceited clan.

Some believe the Uchiha is a crazy clan.

But undeniably, everyone believes it is an extremely powerful clan.

But at this moment, Miki believed it was a fragile clan, a clan with fragile hearts.

Uchiha Madara was, Obito was, Shisui was, Itachi was, and Sasuke was too.

Of course, Chiri was also.

Without stopping to wait for Chiri, Miki turned her head and walked away.

Seeing this, Chiri was not surprised; she followed Miki in a few quick steps with a Shunshin, asking curiously, "Aren't you training?"

"It's over," Miki said.

She didn't know how this girl did it, but over the past two months, Miki felt that Chiri was constantly getting stronger, never seeming slower than herself.

Yet this girl idled around all day.

In contrast, Miki herself was exhausted every day.

It really made her grit her teeth.

"Oh, it's quite early today," Chiri said, accidentally revealing something.

"I mean, the training is completely finished," Miki repeated.

Reminding Chiri not to wait foolishly anymore.

"Oh~" Chiri reacted, smiling, "How gentle you are, Miki."

Miki was too lazy to answer.

Miki never answered things she found uninteresting.

The Aburame Clan, Chiri knew.

And Chiri had somewhat figured out a pattern.

The trick to chatting with Miki.

Seeing that Miki didn't answer, Chiri didn't mind; she was always the one talking anyway, which was better than talking to herself.

She asked, "Are you free to go out today?"

"No, I'm going home to eat," Miki said.

"What! We made a promise, and it's been two months already! School is almost out for vacation!"

Chiri was a little miffed.

"Don't we have plenty of time to play after vacation?" Miki said.

"That's true, oh." Chiri said, "I've already saved a large sum of money, just waiting to go all out."

This girl! So self-aware!

Miki's mouth twitched under her mask.

If it were in her previous life, this girl would be a scumbag's ATM.

"Don't you spend money on food?" Miki asked.

Chiri nodded and said, "Yeah, everyone nearby is very kind; they give me food when they see I'm pitiful."

"The old lady next door, afraid I wasn't eating well, sends me food every day."

"Really..." Miki said, "Then how long are you going to keep eating free meals?"

"Eh? Can't I eat it? It's rude to refuse something someone worked hard to make," Chiri said.

Uh, Miki realized what she found strange.

This girl had no self-awareness of being pitiful at all.

So there was no feeling of inferiority or anything like that.

Generally speaking, people with strong self-esteem or inferiority complexes would refuse such charitable kindness.

She was truly strong and optimistic, to a frightening degree.

"You can eat it, eat as much as you want," Miki said.

"Mm, that way I can save a lot of money," Chiri said happily.

"Want to come to my house to eat?" Miki said.

"Can I?" Chiri asked, Stunned for a moment.

"If not, then forget it," Miki said.

"Then I won't be polite!" Chiri said with a grin.

Under the setting sun, the two walked together.
