Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: Reporting Back

It was late at night when he returned to the Village, and White Fang was immediately arranged to stay in the Hospital that same evening.

Looking at the familiar ward, he felt quite at ease; the most important thing was that those devils would finally leave.

White Fang breathed a sigh of relief.

Early the next morning, White Fang suddenly woke up, staring at the ceiling he'd watched all night, feeling a sense of loss for a moment.

They're all gone…

Seriously, why was he thinking about them? They were all more annoying than the last.

Forget it, they were just teammates after all.

Once this team was done, he would return to his usual routine; he just had to endure another year or so.

Soon…

Thinking of this, White Fang shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Nurse!!!"

Immediately, a young and beautiful Nurse rushed in, flustered.

"What's wrong?"

The Nurse asked.

With a blank expression, White Fang said, "To pee."

The Nurse, her face slightly red, said, "Wait a moment."

She ran off in a hurry.

When she reappeared, it was an experienced Nurse auntie.

"So, you need to pee, huh?"

"Yes," White Fang replied.

The Nurse auntie stepped forward, picked up White Fang in a princess carry, and walked towards the restroom.

At the Hokage Office building, Miki leaned against the wall in the corridor, arms crossed, waiting, while passing Shinobi occasionally glanced at Miki.

Many Shinobi who recognized Miki unconsciously quickened their pace, swiftly moving out of Miki's line of sight.

Miki didn't pay attention, looking thoughtfully at the scenery outside the window.

According to the plan, the longer White Fang stayed in the Hospital, the longer her vacation would be. So, what should she do these days?

Miki was pondering such things.

"Hiruzen! You will regret this!!!"

At that moment, an angry roar came from the Office.

"I am the Hokage!!! Danzo!!!"

Immediately following, the Sandaime's shout rang out.

The two parted ways unhappily; Danzo slammed the door shut and, seeing Miki in the corridor, couldn't help but stop.

Miki observed Danzo with interest.

He was a middle-aged man in his thirties; time had etched lines on his face, but he hadn't yet wrapped his iconic bandages.

"Mushi-Hime." Danzo walked up to Miki, extended his hand, and said, "I heard you joined the Anbu. How about it? Do you want to come to Root to secretly protect Konoha?"

"…" Miki ignored him.

"You fellow!" Danzo said, annoyed, "Is this how you treat your seniors!?"

This fellow's brain was a bit slow; Miki noticed this immediately.

Miki leaned against the wall, arms crossed, head down, still ignoring him.

"You!"

Danzo reached out, intending to touch Miki's shoulder.

The next second, purple mist rose from Miki's body.

His hand froze in mid-air, Danzo closed his mouth, glaring fiercely at Miki.

Miki didn't look at him.

Ultimately, Danzo turned and left, walking away quickly.

Although she could feign compliance, Miki didn't intend to waste expressions on him.

After retracting her Parasitic Minute Bugs, she pushed open the door and walked into the Hokage Office.

This was Miki's first time in this place.

"Mushi-Hime, long time no see." Seeing Miki, the Sandaime showed a warm smile.

"The mission failed," Miki said bluntly.

"Which one?" the Sandaime asked instinctively.

"Assassinating Danzo," Miki said.

"Oh~" The Sandaime nodded, then suddenly reacted, "Don't talk nonsense!!! It was Hanzou! Hanzou the Salamander!!!"

The Anbu guards around them all broke out in cold sweat.

"It's all that fellow's fault; he suddenly talked to me about joining Root, and I mixed up the names," Miki said casually, "What is Root?"

"This fellow!" The Sandaime took a deep puff from his pipe and said, "It's just an Anbu training department."

"Training department?" Miki said, "Is this department very large?"

"Not large," the Sandaime changed the subject, "Mushi-Hime, even your team's combat power couldn't handle Hanzou the Salamander?"

Regarding this, the Sandaime was very puzzled.

Both he and Mito believed that this team was more than enough to even knock out the Kage of the Five Great Nations.

If it weren't for fear of a bad impact, directly sparking a Shinobi World War, the Sandaime would have wanted to try it.

"Is Hanzou that strong?"

"Captain White Fang is lying in the Hospital and won't recover for at least half a month," Miki casually requested leave, saying, "Captain White Fang will report the specific situation after he recovers."

"Things are troublesome…" The Sandaime smoked gloomily.

The footsteps of war were approaching.

If the assassination had succeeded, it could have at least bought another ten years or so.

War would break out within the next five or six years.

The Sandaime smoked, worried. Since the end of the First Shinobi World War, all countries had been quietly accumulating strength, hoping to completely defeat enemy nations in the next Shinobi World War.

After so many years, how much strength had been accumulated? Even though the Anbu had been collecting intelligence, the Sandaime wasn't sure.

If, like the First Shinobi World War, the Four Great Nations still targeted Konoha for attack, without the support of the Second Hokage and many Sengoku seniors, the Sandaime didn't know if Konoha could hold on.

And precisely at this time, that fellow Danzo was demanding to expand Root's authority again.

Should he agree?

Agreeing was easy, but later, Tsunade would find it difficult to suppress him.

After a while, the Sandaime made a decision.

"Mushi-Hime."

"Yes."

"Your team will rest for now."

"Yes."

"Once White Fang recovers, you will have many more missions."

"Yes."

"That's all for now." The Sandaime rubbed his temples and said, "Go play. If you have time, still go to work at the Hospital. What kind of talk is resigning? The Hospital has been complaining to me about being short-staffed."

"Impossible!" Miki flatly refused, then said coldly, "Doing two jobs is absolutely impossible!"

The Sandaime rubbed his temples, his head aching, and said, "I am the Hokage!! Mushi-Hime!"

"What's impossible is impossible," Miki said, "I haven't seen Director Biwako in a long time. Last time she told me to get lost."

"Alright… fine…" The Sandaime sighed, "Don't make her angry anymore. If you make her angrier, I'll…" have a hard time.

Biwako was the Director of the Konoha Hospital and an excellent Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Ninja, commonly known as a midwife. She was strict but considerate to her subordinates.

Miki was an exception.

Anyone who had been complained about thousands of times yet still acted as they pleased would get angry, let alone someone like Biwako, who couldn't tolerate any dirt in her eye.

She was already tired of apologizing for Miki.

"At least Chiri and Hitomi can return to the Hospital, right?" the Sandaime asked expectantly.

Biwako was very fond of Hitomi and Chiri; they were efficient, beautiful, and likable.

So the Sandaime didn't want to hear Biwako nagging all day long anymore.

"You'll have to ask them," Miki said.

"I understand."

The Sandaime had no time to ask them.

He motioned for Miki to leave; he still had a lot of things to do.

Miki glanced at the mountain of documents.

She thought, is it that hard to hire a capable secretary?

Then she recalled Biwako's strict face.

It was indeed difficult.

Leaving the Hokage building with light steps, Miki suddenly didn't know where to go.

She glanced in the direction of the Hospital.

White Fang? Which White Fang?

Miki walked in the opposite direction; it was a rare holiday, and it would be inexcusable not to enjoy it.
