She looked past the struggling, cracking planetary shield of Zephyria. Her cosmic eyes narrowed as they adjusted to the blinding glare of the Sun-Eater Array.
"The mirrors are slaved to a central targeting matrix," Sarah observed instantly, pointing her Scepter of Cosmic Alignment toward the glowing crystal hub buried deep within the fifty-mile web of floating gold.
"The souls provide the fuel, but the hub dictates the alignment. If the hub loses cohesion, the mirrors will blind-fire and melt each other."
"Can you shut it down?" Lucifer asked smoothly.
Sarah gripped her scepter. She didn't look confident. She looked terrified.
