Seoha's POV
Taking two steps back doesn't save me.
He just moves forward with me with his hand on the back of my neck.
My entire body is tense as the intimidating man presses his lips against mine, and my eyes are wide open staring into his. I can see myself in his eyes like a helpless deer and my panic grows, his eyes look like they're warning me.
'Play along' I can almost hear his low voice warning me with a growl.
But I don't want this, I don't want to be kissed by a man that can pull out a gun any minute and end my existence…I don't want this at all, but I am not moving away, I can't move.
My back is pressed against the hard wood of the kitchen counter, and his lips are soft against mine in contrast. I press my hands to his chest, and the muscles of his hard body are tense even under his suit.
He doesn't move his lips or deepen the kiss, he just stares into my eyes.
The alpha's eyes are as cold as ever even while my insides turn warm, I push slightly and with Sooin's little squeal, Taesan breaks the brief kiss.
He turns around to look at his squealing pup while I stand frozen in place with my hands held up in the air, right where I had placed my hands on his chest to push him off me.
The kiss was just a three second peck, but it feels like a one-minute kiss to me.
It has my heart racing in way I don't understand, my vanilla scent spikes into sweetness, and my face heats up with embarrassment.
"Dad, are you kissing daddy?" Sooin asks, and her little voice breaks me out of the daze as I turn my head to the side to hide the redness of my face.
Why would he do that?!
"No, we weren't, don't come here love" Taesan says, stepping away from our space with the broken ceramic as he goes to his daughter.
He is out of my space, but it doesn't make breathing easier, I bend immediately to clean the mess I made, avoiding Taesan in his own home…in his own kitchen.
"Liar! I saw you kissing daddy" Sooin bursts into a fit of giggles as her father picks her up and presses a kiss to the side of her head, "we were just talking" he says and turns to look at me.
"We weren't kissing, were we…honey?" the alpha asks, and I can only stare back wordlessly, still feeling the pressure of his lips against mine, soft and short and sweet.
"Daddy, don't lie, I'm not a baby anymore" Sooin says and Taesan puts her down, as soon as her feet touches the ground, she comes to hug me with a big smile on her small face.
"Careful, Sooin" I say, steering her away from the potentially dangerous part of the floor and she gasps, "Yummy food!" she points to the meal I made for her.
The mention of the food immediately brings Taesan back to being the cold man he was before Sooin's arrival, I choose to ignore him, turning around to pick the place for the child.
"Hungry?" I ask Sooin and she stares at the dish with wide eyed wonder.
Almost like she has never seen a plate in the morning before, it makes me wonder again…what really happens within these walls?
"Come eat, I made this just for you princess" I say and brush her hair back, "daddy! Thank you" she says and hugs me once more around the waist before rushing over to the chair.
I brush past the alpha to serve her, knowing that he wouldn't do anything with her watching us, but my body is shaking as I move around.
She comes first…
'Actions have consequences'
"Eat a lot, hmm?" I say and pat her head once before turning around to find the alpha flashing his red eyes at me, back to the expressionless and restrained anger as he keeps his eyes on me.
I stand beside the child till she's done eating and ready to leave for school with one of the maids.
"Daddy, you'll be here when I come back right?" she asks and holds on to the edge of my shirt with her little hands.
The hope in her eyes hurt me so much that I can't help but look at her father before giving a response, he's the one who decides my life now.
"Don't leave" she adds before finally letting go and leaving with the maid.
"You're pushing the line, omega" Taesan says once she's gone.
"Seoha doesn't eat, but she did" I say and when I try to look in his eyes to give a response, the look in his eyes reminds me of the kiss, the peck we shared, and I drop my eyes.
"I'm sorry…sir" I apologize immediately.
"Look at me" Taesan orders and I look back up at him again.
My heart thumping in my chest and my cheeks red, "you cook Sooin's meals but if anything goes wrong, you'll be dead before you can even say your own name, understood?" he asks.
"Yes" I whisper.
"Get dressed, your job begins now" he says and picks his cane from the counter before leaving kitchen.
Leaving my knees weak and my body shaking, I can't tell if it's from the kiss, the fear or the heavily intoxicating pheromones hanging in the air but it's hard to stand straight.
I hear his voice from outside the door.
"I want that omega tonight, I won't be using a condom" he says and I blench.
