[Silent Threshold — Combat Zone — 4:38 PM]
---
The angel hadn't left.
Two hundred meters north, elevated position, wings at a horizontal angle. Watching.
**"It didn't leave,"** said Kira.
Not as surprise. As confirmation of what she already knew.
**"No,"** said Grim.
Alex saw it from where he was — standing, both scythes still materialized, F1 crimson in his left hand and F4 violet in his right. The body that should have fallen with HP at zero and that was still standing because F7 hadn't yet decided it was time to let go.
Two hundred meters.
The angel watching.
---
Alex felt the difference first.
It wasn't like the previous chapter's frenzy — the three minutes of collapse where the four Fragments fought for space and the Harvester's attire came apart and the violet scythe floated because his wrist couldn't hold it. That had been four voices at the same time without direction.
This was different.
F1 in the left scythe. Still. Not pushing.
