With Eve gone, Damon moved back to the soft cushions of his new bed. Not much has changed, at least at first thought, because as he recalled the sweet taste of Ivy's lips and Eve's confession to him, perhaps a lot more has changed than he would like to believe.
With his eyes closed and his mind recalling the recent events, he didn't even realise when he slipped into a quick slumber.
It was only when he felt a sudden chill breeze from the side that he jolted awake and realised a night had fallen over the citadel, and as he turned toward the direction of the breeze, he saw his balcony door open.
'Was it open the whole time?' he wondered as he moved toward it.
At first, he wanted to simply close it, but then he stepped onto it, wanting to take a look outside, and he was happily surprised. The view from the citadel floating above the ruined city was already breathtaking, but from the peak of the tower, it was even better.
