A massive pressure hit against Huijin's back as she was plunged into the lake.
The brute wasted no time,he swung his two sharp insect-like back arms at her which she managed to catch and stop from stabbing her, but now she was submerged and slowly running out of breath.
"Valedictorian would be a cakewalk if it weren't for you. I couldn 't just kill you on campus 'cause that would raise questions."
The bastard said, venom laced in his tone.
Given the opportunity to strike, the water bug used his arms to grip Huijin's neck tightly.
"!!!"
Air was slowly leaving her lungs being replaced by water.
"But who's gonna know it was me if you drown to death."
He had an even more evil smile on his face now, looking as if he actually enjoyed this.
At this scene the delinquents from earlier chimed in.
"That bitch deserves a slow and painful death. I can barely feel my own face, man…"
"Just wait, she'll be begging you to finish her soon enough."
And as this water bound bastard began to respond,
"Thats not a bad idea!
A sharp whistling sound could be heard approaching rapidly.
"May as well have some fun with i–"
BOOM!
All of a sudden he was dragged half way across the lake.
By who?
Huijin lifted her head out of her head to look,
"wanting to be valedictorian is one thing… but shouldn't you learn how to be a human being first?"
It was Suchan.
"You pond scum piece of shit!!"

Over on land, where all the delinquents were standing.
'Damn, what a badass.'
Do-Hyeok had just arrived.
"W-who the hell is that?!"
"It's that flying bug from the lecture hall!!"
Do-Hyeok heard these grunts in front of him then took a good look at their state.
'Damn, the prez did this amount of damage on her own, remind me not to fuck with her…'
All of them were severely beaten and bruised, Do-Hyeok could take care of them, but he felt watching how Suchan moved was more important.
'I saw during registration, he can move incredibly fast and also be able to see relatively well. When I move at full speed I can barely register any information, so how is he doing it?'
As Do-Hyeok watched the fight he noticed Suchan's eyes glow slightly, it was faint but he caught it.
Then he saw it again, it seemed to flash whenever he looked to dodge.
'Is that it? His eyes seem to be able to see that big guys attack…'
'If I could use that…'
Do-Hyeok had an idea.
'Wouldn't I basically be invincible?'
And a familiar smile crept up onto his face as he turned to the group of delinquents
"Hey bastards!"
The delinquents turned to see him.
"Come at me all at once."
And they did.
Do-Hyeok took a deep breath.
'Focus.'
The Bulldog ant (myrmecia).
This ant, unlike others, possess exceptional, high-resolution vision compared to most ants, allowing them to detect, track, and follow moving objects or intruders from up to 1 meter away.
Do-Hyeok's eyes began to glow a vivid yellow.
Their large compound eyes, which contain up to 3,000 faces, enable them to navigate and hunt actively, relying more on sight than scent trails.
The world around Do-Hyeok slowed.
When scaled to a human body, this enables a person to see the world 3x slower.

While not nearly as efficient as the dragonflies eyes which have 30,000 faces,
'This is crazy.' Do-Hyeok thought.
It's still overwhelmingly effective.
All of the delinquents were dealt with almost instantly. Do-Hyeok looked down at his hands, smiling and satisfied, then he turned to see someone approaching.
It was Hyeseong.
"You took your time." Do-Hyeok started.
"Hey I'm fast but not that fast, you take care of these guy's?"
"Yup now it's just that red haired bastard."
Meanwhile in the lake, said red haired bastard was shocked,
'Why the hell are these transfer students so damn strong?!'
"Tch. Hyeseong cha's here too. I didn't expect him to recover so soon. Damn it, he was next on my hit list after the class prez…"
Suchan on the other hand was struggling once again,
While he was agile, water wasn't his territory, he was at a clear disadvantage.
Then the water bug spoke,
"Hey now, we can talk about this, look the way I see it…"
And suddenly, behind Huijin sprouted another delinquent who grabbed her and put her in a lock,
"Dude! I have her!"
'Is there a mob spawner around here? Where the hell did he come from?' Do-Hyeok thought and began to move in to help when,
"Sure you do."
Huijin elbowed the guy effortlessly, knocking him out in an instant, but she was distracted,
The brute was already charging right at her.
"...!"
"Suchan!" Shouted Do-Hyeok.
And right after that, Suchan swooped in and moved Huijin outta the way,
At this, Do-Hyeok moved in but the water slowed him down tremendously.
'Dammit…'
"Did the ant want to play in the water?"
Slam-!
Do-Hyeok was launched across the lake skidding against the ground under the water.
"Kh!"
Do-Hyeok got back up, but even with his compound vision, he couldn't avoid getting hit in the water,
WHAM-!
BOOM-!
THUD-!
Blow after blow, Do-Hyeok was taking a one sided beating.
"Even if you're fast on land it means nothing if you're on my turf!" So shouted the stealing bastard.
But what Do-Hyeok began to notice was that he was slowly adapting to the water.
'Don't tell me there's an ant that can adapt to water… JACKPOT!'
Do-Hyeok stood up, a crazed smile forming on his face beginning to form once again.
"What the fuck are you smiling about, ant!:
The hulking bastard went to swing at Do-Hyeok,
But he vanished.
"?!"
"Because…"
The fire ant (Solenopsis invicta).
One of its most famous abilities is to form a living waterproof raft during floods.
"...Your turf…"
This enables it to fight and protect itself in watery terrain.
Do-Hyeok appeared behind the water bug almost as soon as he disappeared.
And when applied to Do-Hyeok…
"...has already been conquered."
…He can walk on water.
BOOM-!
One hit from Do-Hyeok and he was out, sprawled in the water like a squashed bug.
Do-Hyeok picked up the IDs from his body
'Kill confirmed… heh.' (He's not actually dead.)
And like that, it was over.

By the time they got back to the lecture hall, orientation had already ended.
They returned all the students IDs, but decided not to tell anyone it was them that brought them back.
Why? No big reason.
Huijin felt responsible and didn't wanna make a big deal out of it and the other 3 didn't really mind.
Do-Heok may have saved the day, but he certainly wasn't hailed a hero.
Not that he minded
Because now…
He had his very own college dorm Room!
"I was excited, but honestly it's not much different from the orphanage rooms. Certainly more up to date though"
Do-Hyeok felt a little disappointed, but he had no room to complain, he lucked out and got a dorm all to himself.
'Little lonely in here though…'

Just then Do-Hyeok heard a message notification.
'Who…Hyeseong?' (exchanged numbers in the health centre.)
[SonHeungMin#1Fan: you free?]
[Gambler: wassup?]
[SonHeungMin#1Fan: we're celebrating the new semester and heard you had a dorm to yourself. We didn't want you to feel left out so, wanna hang out?]
'We?' Do-Hyeok was a little sceptical.
[Gambler: who's we?]
[SonHeungMin#1Fan: Me, Suchan, Huijin and Dohwa.]
'Hmm. Sounds like fun, but I'd rather go to sleep than end up wasted. I'm already tired and sore everywhere and it's only day one…'
Do-Hyeok went to decline the offer but Hyeseong messaged first.
[SonHeungMin#1Fan: Oh yeah, btw Huijin has your jersey issued by the school cuz she already went and grabbed Suchan's, you'll have to come over to collect anyway lolol.]
'...'
"Sigh… guess I have to go then."
[Gambler: omw now.]
And with that, Do-Hyeok, tiredly and reluctantly, went off to Suchan and Hyeseong's dorm.
Ironically however, despite being so reluctant to go, a slight smile tugged at his lips.
After this Do-Hyeok ended up absolutely wasted and would later say 'never again…'

Meanwhile, somewhere in the mountains near Nest.
"So you mean to tell me you failed to kill the professor's top student, huh?"
Standing in the forest was the brute from earlier, standing in front of a woman sitting up in a tree who seemed to be wearing a bug mask, her face couldn't be seen but her hair slipped out and a faint purple could be seen spilling out from under.
"That's okay, darling. Your assignment was to cause a commotion anyway."
The woman folded one of her legs over the other,
"But you know as well as anyone that any creature that fails in its hunt will gradually become extinct."
Hearing this broke the guy into a nervous, cold sweat,
"N-No, i can get it right this time!! I know i can, ill kill that bitch and get cinderella…"
"Cinderella? What are you even talking about?"
The woman cut him off,
"Darling, we don't need it. Not at all."
And with that she leapt off the tree followed by a faint buzzing sound.
And then,
SLASH-!
Instant death. (He's actually dead.)
"All that brawn and you can't even beat a couple of worthless freshmen. But don't worry, honey. I'm sure the boss will be thrilled nonetheless."
The woman lifted her mask slightly, revealing a vibrant purple eye,
"We finally found what we wanted."
