'Nexus, is there a tutorial in the game?'
Ah, you finally asked about that. Yes, there is a tutorial in the game. I just didn't disclose it to you because you were already wrapped up in different situations from learning how the game works, to your preparations for tomorrow.
'Understandable, but having one right now would do me some good since... Well, isn't it obvious?"
Very. Give me a second while I write down the missions for you.
Nodding his head at his book, Rise stepped to the side to remove himself from the street. He leaned up against a support beam connected to a store, taking a look around first to make sure he didn't seem suspicious for doing this. As he seemed to be in the clear, he casted his eyes back to the page that was still being written on before it eventually came to a stop.
Welcome to the Nexus SRPG System Tutorial! Even though you have a bit of understanding of the Nexus, you have made it clear that you lack the needed experience, so I'm here to help push you along in the right direction. That's why you've been given the following missions below!
______
Upgrade Ero-Talk to Lv3! (currently at Ero-Talk Lv2)
Hateful Mother of Konoha V1: Flirt with Ibara of the Hidden Leaf! [Reward(s): Will Vary]
Hateful Mother of Konoha V2: Flirt with Tsubaki of the Hidden Leaf! [Reward(s): Will Vary]
A different kind of flavor: Seduce Ayame of Ichiraku's Ramen Stand! [Reward(s): Will Vary]
______
And of course, I'll be your guide to help you in your time of need. You may not have proper experience now, but that'll all change by the end of the day. Also, a heads up to you for game balance, all rewards come from the tutorials missions ONLY. You will not be rewarded for completing the tutorial since everything you would've earned will be distributed through your quests.
All he did was nod his head slightly before the map he used earlier today popped up once again on a textbox. Except this time, there were three other people marked on it. The first name he caught was Ibara's, seeing that she was currently in the market area not too far from him. The second name was Tsubaki, but she appeared quite the distance out in the shopping district where ninja tools could be found. Lastly was Ayame, who (lucky for him) was currently serving bowls at the stand.
Since he didn't have time to waste, Rise got to work by flipping the pages over to the perks and bloodlines category. At the top of the list once again sat Ero-Talk, glowing slightly because of the tutorial mission. With one press of his finger against the page, a sentence was written underneath.
______
Would you like to upgrade Ero-Talk for five points?
[Yes] or [No]
______
Rise didn't think twice in picking yes, watching his perk erase itself cleanly as if it was never written there. Seconds later, it appeared back rewritten as if it never left. Now new and improved.
______
Ero-Talk: Civilian women will find you irresistible, meaning they'll pursue you of their own volition (depending on the woman). Any (civilian) woman will feel slightly submissive in your presence. Civilian women will always accept your advances as long as you say the right words (depending on things like time, location, etc). [Upgrade: 8 points]
______
Now that the upgrade has been confirmed, the results will be instant the moment you persue Ibara. Speaking of her, you should get a move on. She's currently shopping for groceries, and I already have everything set up for what you should do during the tutorial.
'Sounds like a plan.' Rise stepped away from the pillar, departing to Ibara's current location while keeping his eyes on his book somewhat. After only taking a few steps, Rise was quick to notice how fast the effect of Ero-Talk had affected some of the women around him.
Civilians, both younger and older began to keep their vision casted on him a little bit longer than the first time around. As he passed by, he was able to take notice of the few that were blushing in his direction, or the ones who got another woman's attention just so they could look at him. A few of their gazes were unreadable, but his perk made it clear that the desire was there. The few that he made eye contact with either stared him down as well, or avoided him to keep him from noticing they had been staring a little too long. Although, some were getting a bit bolder by closing the distance between them.
It was a mixed bag here and there, but he continued on his way with his eyes straight on the path his map wanted him to follow. As he neared Ibara's current location, Rise couldn't help but sigh at his racing heartbeat. He was really about to go through with this. Not like he had a choice, but the redhead wished he at least mentally prepared himself. Still, there was no time like the present since Ibara was close by. They were about to intersect paths all according to the tutorial.
The moment she got in view of him after turning the corner, the older woman bumped into him. They reeled back from another, the older woman dropping one of the bags she was holding before the contents inside spilled out on the ground. Rise was able to regain his balance first, noticing her dropped packaged items. He got to work picking up everything that fell after their collision, picking up the grocery bag a second later before presenting it to Ibara which allowed him to get a good look at her.
She was a brunette with long smooth dark brown hair, and brown eyes to match. A dark pinkish headband rested atop her head while being clad in a light green shirt under an opened black vest-shirt. The skirt she was was also black, and Ibara made sure to wear the black sandals to match.
Aside from her appearance, he took note in the way she looked at him. Her cheeks were becoming flushed as her eyes widened. She looked away for a split second before looking back to him, shifting her legs a little close. Her left hand holding the other bag of groceries rose up to her chest, covering the specific area where heart should be as she kept her eyes on him.
Then a textbox appeared before Rise as he could no longer read his book.
Time to get this show on the road Rise. For the sake of this tutorial, repeat everything you seen on the screen. It'll help you the moment we get to Ayame.
He didn't say anything at first after reading that. That was until he suddenly began opening his mouth moments later.
"Aren't you gonna take them?" He pushed his arm out a bit further, seeing the surprise in Ibara's face.
"O-Oh, right..." She silently cursed herself for the stutter, something Rise managed to pick up on as she took back the bag she dropped.
As quickly as she got it, she grew surprised to watch him step around her, continuing on his way as if nothing happened. She knew why, and that should've been her cue to leave and be on her merry way. Yet, her heart went against that. The way it raced with Rise still by alerted her, trying to shake herself free of his presence. However, something else came to mind to replace the desire of being close. Instead, she turned around and went after him.
"Hey, you..." Rise turned his head to see Ibara having approached him, cheeks still stained in embarrassment. "You're that boy who usually hangs out with that Naruto kid, right?"
"Yeah. Why do you ask?"
"You know he's trouble, right?" She stated. "You shouldn't be so close with a troublemaker like that. He'll give you a bad reputation if he hasn't already."
Rise wanted to glare at her, but the system in the corner of his eye told him not to. Still, it upset him that a grown woman was blaming an orphan for an attack he had no involvement in. Then again, she didn't know that, so he couldn't blame her fully for not knowing, but he wasn't gonna excuse hating on a kid for no justifiable reason.
"Hmm. A beautiful woman caring about the kind of people I hang around... Thanks for the concern and all, but I'm sure I'll be just fine."
"It's not just concern. That boy—wait, beautiful?" It slipped past briefly, but she managed to catch it.
The one compliment left her cheeks turning red, shaking her head to retain focus on the conversation at hand. The increased pace of her heart beat had her shocked by the fact she was so easily captured by his words, reminding herself that she was a married woman. However, every time she looked at him, butterflies began to swell up in her stomach. How could someone so young make her feel this way. No—she had to keep him from going any further than that.
"Excuse me mister, but I'm too old for you. I'm old enough to be your mother." Ibara told him, the two of them standing to the side as others passed them by, but that didn't stop the individual stares he got from the other women around.
"Old enough to be my mother huh," he began, his lips beginning to curve upward. A smirk lit up his face, and Ibara was captured by it as he said "We could make that happen if you wanted to. In fact, the headband won't get you into any trouble if we decided to get to know each other better."
She didn't notice it first. So the moment he mentioned the hitai-ate, her eyes immediately grew wide upon seeing it rest on his forehead. The leaf village symbol carved into the metal plating, accompanied by the usual blue ribbon meant one thing. He achieved adulthood in the eyes of the public. It made her nervous, but the hint of curiosity resting inside of her was beginning to show.
"Y-You couldn't possibly mean that," she nearly exclaimed, heart practically beating out of her chest from his suggestion. "You should want someone your age. Not a woman with a child who just became a genin like yourself."
All Rise did was shake his head. Instead of replying immediately, he turned his back to her. She noticed this, watching as he began to take off at a leisurely pace. It made her heart drop to her stomach because of it, and the feeling she got from his charm was beginning to fade with it.
"Why have someone my age when there's a pretty lady nearby with all the added curves and experience?" She managed to catch his statement, and it left her stunned.
All Ibara could do was watch Rise walk away. He didn't bother to look back once, but that alone had enough affect on her body. She closed her legs tightly, trying to drown out the ever going fire in her private areas. She clicked her teeth out of annoyance, not liking the feeling building up in her. All she had to say was "I'm married," but even that failed to come up during their talk. It left her frustrated, yes, but she found herself wanting more of whatever feeling had built up between them. In the end, she walked away with a huff, still embarrassed by the entire interaction.
'Holy fuck. I thought my heart was gonna explode." Despite having managed to play it off, Rise's face was now beet red from everything he said by the game's words.
We could make that happen if you wanted to? Why have someone my age when there's a pretty lady nearby with all the added curves and experience? What was he even saying?! He thought he'd never say anything like that in a million years, but here he was now saying it to a woman with a kid his age? Get real man.
You survived, so that's all that matters. Instead, let's focus on the more important things. Like your rewards for example.
______
Hateful Mother of Konoha V1: Flirt with Ibara of the Hidden Leaf! Completed!
Reward(s): +25 XP, +3 Points, +1,500 Ryo
______
As you can see, not too bad for part of the tutorial that's just been completed, but don't get ahead of yourself. Ayame is the main one you want to work your magic on.
'Yeah, but I don't see how this will help me with flirting. I had to read an entire textbox to even make it through that convo.'
I know, but just trust me on this one. I'll have it all worked out for you once we conclude everything with Tsubaki who's up next. Just head over to her, and I'll explain after we're done.
A sigh escaped Rise's lips as he headed over to the shopping district where all ninja tools and other items were being sold. He was going to get through this, but he knew it was gonna be a long day until then.
