"You might think you have won the king over, but let me tell you something, I'm not going down without a fight," Aurora whispered.
I turned to her immediately, but she continued watching the fight going on in the arena as if she had never spoken at all.
I tried to ignore her, though lately I had begun to feel uneasy around her. Ever since the day at the Grand Hall, Aurora had changed completely. She had become quieter, more docile, more withdrawn. I did not know what happened after we were dismissed by the king that night, but whatever it was had clearly affected her deeply.
I sighed softly.
"There's no need for a fight. It's not like I have the king's favor or attention anyway," I muttered in irritation.
Aurora did not reply.
Her silence only made me more uncomfortable, so I turned my attention back to the arena with a resigned sigh.
