Enzo turned to address Linda, who was standing farther away, silently watching the scene unfold.
"Linda, make sure all the maids and breeders are accounted for. Report immediately if anyone is missing or has been killed," Enzo ordered.
Linda nodded, but her eyes remained on the king for a moment longer. There was a question hidden in her gaze, one she wasn't willing to ask aloud.
The king understood immediately what she wanted to know.
"Not here. We will speak later," he mind-linked her.
Linda nodded before turning away to carry out his orders.
Enzo then stretched out his hand, beckoning for Arabella to take it. Arabella placed her hand in his without hesitation.
At this point, the king was past hiding their relationship.
His fingers tightened around hers as they walked.
His mind replayed the moment Victor had informed him that Arabella was in danger. He had abandoned everything and rushed back to the palace, only to be greeted by a bloodbath.
